Sort of Busy Sunday
Aug. 5th, 2018 11:15 pmKicked off with a sudden realization while I was getting my breakfast this morning -- namely, that I'd forgotten to post my latest "Scenes From Secundus" to AO3 last night! So I quickly got that edited and up while eating and added it to my queue last-minute. Went through just fine, thankfully. I know I could have just waited and posted it "live" sometime this afternoon, but I know me by this point -- if I don't get it up early, I tend to get it up super-late instead. And since I a) didn't fancy possibly forgetting it until tonight and b) wanted to get some more of my queue settled for the next couple of days. . . Here's the link in case you're curious: "glowing," from Card Three I have to specify that because there's also a "glowing" on Card Four -- I'm actually tempted to start with that one just for shits and giggles. XD
I also got my vacation itinerary set with my parents -- the current plan is to go to Southwick Zoo on the 11th, Canobie Lake Park on the 14th, and Kimball Farms mini-golf on the 16th. We'll also be going out for ice cream after supper on the 12th, and I'll be taking a personal mall trip on the 15th (since that's a Wednesday and that means half-price games at Dave & Buster's). Yeah, it's a fair amount of day-trips, but I think it'll be fun -- and I do have a few days built in for just bumming around, which is good too. Just hope the weather is decent for all these little trips! *fingers crossed*
Rest of today was a little more low-key -- I did indeed finish off the bit of "The Technicolor Phase" I was working on for writing. Think it came out pretty well, and it keeps my buffer going with that story for a little while longer. After that was watching some videos -- a RabbidLuigi video about video games inside video games (very meta, but it was about companies hiding older, playable games inside newer ones -- did you know the original Animal Crossing had a TON of original NES games hidden inside of it, in the form of playable "furniture?"), the latest episode of The Sim Supply's "Rags to Riches Seasons" LP (Richie nearly burned the house down making pan de muerto, Raggy earned another scout badge, Luna got a weather machine, and Sebastian/James was further stymied in his hunt for the elusive orchid), and the next episode of "Super Sim" (Max and family are now out of the city and back in what I assume is Windenberg, in a brand new tudor mansion! Max also has a new vampire outfit which is mildly ridiculous, and is now a Critic as per popular request (everyone wants him to be a food critic in particular because of the irony factor -- I guess I'll see what James does!)). All good stuff.
And then it was time to play Sims 4 myself, and -- well, a) the blurry screenshot bug is apparently still not fixed yet, and b) it doesn't matter as I STILL HAVEN'T FINISHED THE BLOODY HOUSE. Cripes, who knew decorating and furnishing this place would take so LONG?! I did get a lot further than I did before -- I've finally solved the kitchen conundrum, for example (I moved one of the doors giving me grief to the other room, and discovered the stairs weren't solid underneath -- deleting the walls around them gave me some much-needed space), set up a downstairs bathroom, and started work on the main living area. But there's still stuff I need to fix up (like some wallpaper choices), and some little tweaks I want to make, and generally this is just taking longer than expected. Fortunately I do have an idea of what I can do as for alternate Wednesday posts. I just hope by next weekend sometime I can finish this off and actually take some screenshots of it!
After that was dinner, then it was time to switch over to Helloween's to check out his new LP -- Vampyr! An RPG-sorta-style game where you're Dr. Jonathan Reid, blood specialist in late-World-War-I-era London, who has just been transformed into a vampire and now has to track down both the creature who turned him (and possibly kick some ass, given his first act as a new vampire was to kill his own SISTER, and he is understandably angry), and figure out what mysterious plague is infecting the city. I suspect the two are somehow connected, but we'll see. It looks like a cool game, with an interesting story -- and I already like the vampire powers. The mist teleport option is awesome, and "vampire vision" is really cool. Between this, Max's turn as a vampire in "Super Sim," and Victor's own pending transformation in my own Sims 4 game, I definitely am into the vampire thing again. Maybe during my vacation I'll spare a moment to write some "Londerland Bloodlines" stuff. . .
But that's for later -- right now, I have a few comments to answer (already did my Valice Multiverse queue, yay), and then I have to get to bed. Five days of work (well, four and a half, really), and then I'm free for a week! Hopefully things will be relatively quiet before I go. . . Night all!
