crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Mostly because all was quiet on the subscription front (have confirmed The Sim Supply seems mainly to be doing videos for his other channels for the nonce -- including multiple crossovers with Dr. Gluon; unsure of Helloween's status as Sickoween), I went ahead and watched one half-hour and two hour-and-a-half long videos from a fellow named hbomberguy:

-->A reaction to a man who used the 2016 Ghostbusters trailer as an excuse to hate on feminists and Anita Sarkeesian (creator of Feminist Frequency) in particular (apparently one "Girl Power" picture highlighting how many women worked on that film, when they're usually underrepresented in movie-making, is a sign the feminists are going to destroy our lives! . . .yeah, hbomber could not take him seriously)

-->A detailed analysis of why he feels Fallout 3 is an unworthy successor to the original two Fallout games (I could certainly see where he was coming from, though had to argue that some of us NEED "how to get to goal" arrows as some of us get lost VERY easily in games with big worlds -- sticking it in the bottom corner of the screen is a mistake, though)

-->A detailed analysis of why Bloodborne is the best Souls-type game out there (which I realized I'd actually watched before but went ahead and watched again because I love Bloodborne. Again, could see where he was coming from, but it felt rather arrogant of him to declare that using ranged magic attacks or a "sword and board" style of gameplay was playing the game "wrong." Look, fast dodgy combat is cool, I like it too, but people are different and I like my ranged attacks too plz)

So that ate up a good chunk of my day -- as well as reading through part of the TV Tropes section for BioShock Infinite (I'm saving the "Burial At Sea"-specific tropes for later) and somebody's tumblr blog tags (look they have a lot in their "fanfic" tag I find interesting). But I did get a few productive things done:

-->Played some Sims 4 and made a start on Nikal and Emmett's house! . . .hands up who forgot that they were the other half of the Great Lot Swap I perpetuated last year that got Victor, Alice, and their daughters on the biggest lot in the neighborhood. I'm working on making the old Van Dort place work for them -- unlike their old house, I actually liked the look of Victor and Alice's place. It was just a bit too small for them. I've turned it into a brick house, made the bathroom a bit wider, and added a basement level that will have both a laundry room and a secret lab. :p It's not done yet -- I'm still figuring out what to do with all the rooms and anything I might need to buy to make the place look better -- but it's a good start.

-->Wrote some more on Chapter 12 of "Fixing You!" We've gotten past the real-world wind-up and have pitched Victor and Alice into Silent Burtonsville! Victor is currently regretting letting subconscious pick the destination, as he's been kinda battered by a fall through some trees. Poor guy. . .and it's not getting any easier from here. . .

-->Got my pictures sorted for Eric's last update this Wednesday, showcasing my bowling alley/skating rink/restaurant. Hopefully my readers will find it amusing!

-->And answered my comments in my inbox for Dreamwidth, yay me. (Would say the same for my Valice Multiverse tumblr, except -- there weren't any. O.o Guess everyone took Sunday off?)

So no, can't complain how my Sunday turned out. Would have liked more time to fiddle around with the house in Sims, but it was getting late and I needed my shower before supper. . .I think I need to start playing my video games EARLIER in the day on weekends. That way I won't feel like I'm such a strict time limit. Have to give it a go next weekend -- for now, I gotta hit the sheets. Full week of work looms, bleh. But what can you do. At least I should have a coworker again. . . *fingers crossed!* Night all!
