More Beautiful Weather Wednesday
May. 8th, 2019 11:11 pmAnother day with lots of sun and in the high 60Fs -- such a nice break from all the damn rain that's been pouring down lately! Been taking as much advantage of it as I can, that's for sure. Always nice when I can get in a few walks outside and enjoy the sunshine. :)
Work wasn't too bad -- a few iffy moments, and of course my lunch break was interrupted all to hell, but nothing I couldn't handle, at least. Coworker and I are doing our best to stay on top of everything, and I got a bunch of waiting gifts put on, so that helped some. Got more meetings with various people these last couple of days, so hopefully that'll make the time go by. Though I have a busy weekend coming up too -- bowling Saturday, and Mother's Day Sunday. Still gotta get Mom her card. . .she's off work tomorrow, but maybe Friday I can either go out on my own or with Dad to get one.
For writing, I both finished up the last page of Chapter 2 of "Secundus 2" (Victor's shoes have been saved, hurrah), and wrote a short birthday fic for a friend. I have TWO birthdays next week, one right after the other (am I glad I checked my fic from last year for the date of the second!), so I gotta be prepared. Might take a break tomorrow to write up the second fic, then use Saturday to clean them both up a little so they'll be postworthy on the right days. Ah, always something. . .at least it didn't take me long to figure out what I wanted to write for both. Hopefully both recipients will enjoy!
Videos were Sims-themed this evening, starting with The Sim Supply looking back at some of the first builds from Sims 2 he shared with the world, all the way back in 2006! Says he would have been around 11 or 12 back then, depending on date. . . He showed off a Wayback Machine archive snapshot of his old site (just as silly as you might expect from a preteen), and then downloaded some of his old lots into his Sims 2 game to check them out. (Yes, you can still download Sims 2 stuff! It was one of the most popular iterations of the franchise. . .) A couple of them were pretty cool (especially "Home on the Prairie," a rather nice house, and a cool vacation-resort-style apartment block lot he made when he was a little older), others. . .well, he had a good laugh at his younger self's ridiculous building decisions XD I'm hoping he shows off more of his old builds later -- or tries to recreate them in Sims 4. I actually suggested he try to recreate a house across the entire Sims series (since he's done some stuff with Sims 1 in the past, so obviously he can still get that one to play too) -- would be cool if he takes it!
I also watched Deli start on a potentially-creepy orphanage set in a vaguely Victorian house. She's only gotten the exterior done so far (which took quite a bit of roof-fiddling and selecting just the right windows and playing with the color scheme), but it's coming along pretty nicely! She's gone for a green theme on the outside, which makes it look pleasantly foresty. It's cool and I look forward to seeing more of it. She also did a reaction video to a video of one of her favorite celebs playing Sims 4 for the first time. Said celeb Did Not Get the game -- she seemed unsure of what to do with her Sim, so kept just letting the Sim run wild and then complaining about the Sim doing weird stuff. Poor Deli kept going on about how she just wants her to like the game. . .it's just not for everyone, Del! Particularly people who don't seem to get life simulators.
Oh! And there was one extra video -- the next playable clan trailer for Bloodlines 2! Yeah, I thought those released on Thursdays, but apparently this one came out a bit early. Tremere confirmed -- and Tremere still having the totally overpowered "blow up people by boiling their blood" ability confirmed. XD So that leaves Toreador (leaked as a playable clan earlier), Ventrue (pretty much everyone expecting it), and whatever #5 is (still leaning toward Nosferatu myself). Very much looking forward to the next trailers!
And then the rest of the evening has been catching up on webcomics, filling out the Victor Luvs Alice queue for tomorrow, and leaving a review on a fic I've been meaning to review. All pretty standard stuff. And now it's time for the final comment answering and bed. Hopefully tomorrow goes well too. . .night all!
