crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
Not that any of the snow amounted to anything -- there was maybe half an inch at best this morning, so no delays, and while we had two big bursts of snow during the afternoon (the aforementioned squalls), they too didn't actually amount to anything and were done by the evening commute. Which is good, because the traffic didn't need any help getting worse. Not my worst ride in or home, but -- not great. I think it's a side effect of everyone finally coming off holiday vacations or the like. Meeeeh. Well, hopefully tomorrow will be a little better on that front. . .

Work itself was pretty busy -- finishing up more return stuff, trying to figure out some duplicate nonsense, discovering we have some really old checks sitting around. . .yeah, we've been keeping busy! And of course the week feels longer after so much time off. . . Just have to remember that we're past the halfway point here, and the weekend is coming. It's a Saturday where I have to clean, admittedly, but I've never let that get me down too much before! Still a day off! And after another full week, I get another long weekend, so that's something to look forward to.

Evening has been pretty good, overall -- had an nice supper, then got to writing on "Londerland Bloodlines" early -- which is good, as I had to go poking around YouTube to find a certain piece of dialogue available in the first Mercurio sequence! Turns out Helloween never actually asked Mercurio about "vamp blood" in EITHER of his playthroughs, Tremere or Malkavian, so I had to search out someone who had, as Alice does learn about ghoulhood from both him AND Knox (Mercurio gives her the general run-down, Knox fills in some details, like the fact that they're called ghouls). Still got a solid piece of writing done, though -- we're moving onto Alice taking on Dennis and his drug-runners! And meeting the beach Thinbloods, which will be nice. I know Alice doesn't get along with most vampires, but she likes the Thinbloods -- they're just scared kids, much like herself. She probably identifies more with them than most of the "proper" vampires -- which is amusing, given she's 8th generation and thus is probably more powerful than any Thinblood could ever dream of. Alice, friend to ghouls and Thinbloods, completely confusing most other vampires. XD

Definitely a fun evening on the YouTube Scene too:

-->The latest Atop the Fourth Wall, which was the second issue of Batman/Aliens! Another solid entry, with the usual "someone sees the Xenomorphs as excellent weapons of mass destruction, learns too late that they count as someone who can be destructed" plot that we expect from the latter franchise. There's a few silly bits (we have a nightmare sequence in which Bruce's parents die from Xenomorphs instead of Joe Chill), but overall, a good comic. Hooray!

-->And then a GrayStillPlays marathon, featuring:

A) 7 Days In Purgatory -- the MS Paint "send people to Heaven Or Hell only this time it's kind of like Papers, Please" adventure! Gray attempted to send people to the wrong place, but in this game, the Devil and God will kick them out of their respective afterlives -- in God's case, he'll punch you right in the face! XD Gray loved it, and the goofy take on Death. Good stuff!

B) Darkest Decision -- the pixel "sacrifice people to soccer ball Satan and see how long you can actually keep your village prosperous, faithful, and alive" simulator! Gray managed 18 weeks in the end, hooray~ But first, of course, he managed to kill everyone useful and get his entire village slaughtered a couple of times. XD Good job, Gray!

C) Curb the Population -- the also-pixel "who do you want to save, the person who slapped a baby or the person who wants to slap a baby" decider! No, literally, there's two people who either want to slap babies or have slapped babies. Only one true psychopath, though -- named Spunk, appropriately enough. XD Gray was deeply amused by all the ridiculous descriptions, and who could blame him?

D) Air Marty -- THE BEST GAME IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE. XD Yup, we had more of THIS complete and utter nonsense, and I am thrilled. And the theme of this episode?

Letting Marty feed his bloodlust.

No, seriously, that's a minigame, and if you win, Marty beats a guy to death with a pipe. At the behest of a wrestler he's -- sort of befriended? You can also dual-wield guns against an army of chickens, and kill a sniper coming after you in order to kill and take over a fried chicken empire. And drive a UFO to the president, where the aliens you're helping out kill him and destroy the sun. Basically there are a million ways to end the world with bad art in this game, and I want to see them all. XD

Spent most of the rest of the evening catching up on stuff and getting my Victor Luvs Alice queue sorted -- mostly done through Saturday, though I have to actually do the proper "Song Saturday" post. Still, a head start is a head start. Saves me a little bit of time on Friday, anyway!

And now it's time to clean out the inbox comments and head to bed. We'll see what tomorrow brings -- besides freezing cold. Still so wacky to think we can have a day below freezing tomorrow, then get hit with near-60 temps over the weekend. . .weather, how does it work? (Not well, what with global warming. . .) G'night!
