crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
As shall be borne out by my Update Form:

Work – Quiet day, happily – and lo and behold, the damn credit card people actually FIXED some stuff! Just the stuff from yesterday, mind, which is irritating in a different way, but still. Also put on some big gifts and did some obituaries. Not a bad way to end the week, frankly.

Beanbags – Not today, mostly because it never got as nice out as they said it would. Kind of dull and cloudy most of the day, and even when the sun did come out, it wasn’t for long. And the humidity is rising, which is never great. . .we’ll see what the weekend brings!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike because of my blister, in decent shorts to prevent bum burn. Not so great on the video front, though – I watched PART of a Corpse Bride theory video, only to back out after the creator made a few too many assumptions about shit (and not in the good way); a video about testing out Sims 4 “hacks” on TikTok that had a couple of good ideas on the building side (turning regular beds into extra-fancy canopy beds with platforms and spandrels, and using a diagonal wall next to an archway to set up an “open door”), but the “how to get twins part” wasn’t much fun and the actual content creator annoying (look, I know paid promotion is how a lot of YouTubers make money, but she spent WAY too much time on it); and a genuinely funny “Honest Trailer” about Resident Evil Village (because there will never be enough ways to make fun of people thirsting over Lady D). It was fun for a while to watch shorter stuff, but I think I need to return to my roots of watching series. Maybe it’s time to start watching Jon’s Fallout 4 runs again? Or maybe. . .I go back to a YouTuber I haven’t watched in a while, since what he uploads now are long Twitch stream archives. . .

2. Work some more on the HypnoKink Notes Document: Check! I’m almost completely done with the magic system section, having figured out how Victor’s version of “Musicshaping” (creating shapes made out of light) works and come up with some abilities for the elder Liddells to have (Arthur gets a super strength boost because he wanted to break down Lizzie’s door, while Lorina shares Alice’s “Simple Pyrokinesis” – hey, if Victor and Bonejangles can share an ability. . .). Also added another story idea to the list, yay. Nice to have something simple to work on from time to time!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Two-thirds check – I’m caught up on everyone but James again, with two “Rags to Redecoration” episodes to watch this weekend. Still, could be worse!

A) Started with Fun With Shorts, with a short about – “Tuberculosis.” O.o Ooookay. . .as you might imagine, as a short about detecting TB, helping people recover from it, and fighting it on a nationwide level, it was PAINFULLY TOPICAL. At least Josh had some good riffs. . .

B) Then it was time to start catching up with Call Me Kevin –

I. More TLC fun, this time with Hoarding: Buried Alive! Kevin takes a look at a hoarder and is absolutely horrified, poor boy. This guy had so much junk in his one-bedroom apartment you couldn’t see the floors! Fortunately his former supervisor came over for the show, and then they got him a clean-up crew to help him sort out what he REALLY wanted to keep from the junk. And he actually did pretty well! The doctor who was called in said he was still keeping too much, but apparently he moved onto a new apartment and managed to keep it clutter-free for a while! Kevin was really rooting for him, wanting him to get the help he needed. I like these videos – it’s a good glimpse at soft!Kevin. :)

II. On the FLIP side of that, we had more Sims 2, which you may recall ended last time with CallMeKevin TheYouTuber (Kevin’s self Sim) getting abducted by aliens. And turning himself into a Grilled Cheese Sim by accident. We pick up there (after some trouble with a corrupted save file), with Kevin’s life just – basically spiraling downward. He had to subsist off chips and juice at first while he got the skill points to even COOK grilled cheese – not to mention needing to get a stove and toaster oven. Then he tried to hold a grilled cheese party, but it turned into a snoozer because he insisted on having his toilet in the living room. THEN he gave birth to his bundle of joy – and it turned into TWO bundles because of COURSE he had twins. THEN he tried to hire a nanny to take care of them, only to fall afoul of a) how crap nannies are in this game and b) a lack of funds to pay her. Basically all of his income was going toward paying the maid, meaning the repo man was over regularly to repossess stuff and the nanny ended up stealing his table when he couldn’t pony up the dough. He went mental twice in a row, had to call in fake sick to work a couple of times, and was reduced to selling his own landscaping to afford food. SOMEHOW the babies have grown up into toddlers without being taken away, but I suspect it’s only a matter of time. . . Also, despite his best efforts, Vidcund won’t move in with him to be killed. What is a Sim to do? I guess we’ll find out in a future episode. . .

C) And then it was time for GrayStillPlays and more Happy Wheels! As usual, the community is getting more creative and more sadistic – the starting level was an impossible board where Nixon slowly levitates up a bunch of spikes, only to promptly get a rocket and a bunch of harpoons up the butt. Gray managed to win as half a man, which I’m pretty sure is the only way TO win. Other notable boards included a choice-based board where picking anything he actually liked (left for his left-handedness, green because it’s his favorite color) resulted in death; a “survival” run that he actually won without much issue (probably because he went super-fast through most of the hazards); a long spike fall where getting the angle JUST RIGHT was key (it – took a few tries); a horror board featuring a demonic Peppa Pig (Gray wisely didn’t try to fight her and instead just pedaled his way out); and a jet fall of truly HORRIFIC proportions (layers upon layers upon LAYERS of deadly rockets – Gray had to try a number of different characters before somehow finally winning by having Scooter Woman chuck her groceries). Good stuff, especially with how squeaky with terror Gray’s voice was getting near the end of the last one. XD

D) And then I saw a twenty-second clip of Kevin rickrolling Anna while she was on a stream and had to watch that. Adorable~ They’re such a cute couple. :)

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – again, without Victor Luvs Alice to worry about, I could focus on Valice Multiverse. Which was – one ask I didn’t particularly want to answer (kinda gross), so I just reblogged some fandom stuff and called it a day.

Not too bad, no! And now I've got the Friday Night Writing Thing to do, so best to wrap up here and get over to that. . . Gotta get my to-do list sorted, though:

1. Complete the end-of-month Room Clean and Laundry

2. Watch Episode 6 of OXBox playing RE8 and catch up on James Turner's videos in YouTube Subs

3. Either work some more on the HypnoKink notes or work some on the Fallout Of Darkness Notes

4. Play Sims 4 and get another day of Emmett and Nikal under my belt

Now, a lot of this is dependent on what actually HAPPENS tomorrow -- there is a good chance we will be going out to look at cars with a view to me purchasing one, since we're kind of at that place in our shopping. But I HAVE to get the room clean done, and I am DETERMINED to knock out that episode of OXBox playing RE8. So yeah, we'll see how it all goes! Night all!
