crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
The weather was pretty much miserable all day -- either cloudy, drizzling, or pouring. Tomorrow is supposed to dry out some, but is still supposed to be super cloudy, and then more rain showers for Thursday before a decent weekend. *nods* I can dig that. And it sounds like it'll be nice for my day off, so yay. :)

As for the "clicky" bit, still futzing around with my mouse -- and I'm starting to wonder if the problem might be WHERE I'm clicking it. That is, if I've got my finger up too high or too low on the actual button. That might explain why it seems to function better in different positions that might be forcing my finger into the right spot. . .experiments will continue! The double-click thing hasn't been too bad tonight, anyway. . .

And here's the sum-up of the rest of my day --

Work – Pretty quiet day, except for one early phone call from a donor who was trying to get in to actually physically give us a payment, which isn’t how this thing is supposed to work. We’ll see what comes of that in the future, I suppose. . .but yeah, rest of the day was my coworkers cleaning out an office and me doing duplicates and obits and checking on various items. *shrug* Could have been worse.

Beanbags – Nope – rainy miserable day out there! Used the time to pay my car insurance bill. :p

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – went on the bike and finished off Jon’s Original FO4 Playthrough! The highlights episode ended up consisting of three major parts:

I. Miss Jon visits Vault 81 and does the quests there, finding the secret lab and picking up Curie along the way. I watched most of this yesterday, picking up again when Miss Jon found Curie and got the cure to the molerat disease – which, naturally, Miss Jon herself had picked up, because this disease is incredibly easy to get. The livestream apparently convinced Past!Jon to give it to Austin, though Miss Jon DID try to see if the cure could be split – the vault doctor was adamant about that not working, though. So she did the right thing and got a syringer gun out of it, along with a room in the vault. With that sorted, she finally finished up returning Erin’s cat to her, getting her old teddy bear in return. Past!Jon decided “you know what, I’m gonna be a dick” and dropped it on the floor to lob a molotov cocktail at to burn the teddy right in front of Erin.

And then Curie got in the way, got set on fire, and POSSIBLY Erin’s mom got caught in the crossfire – either way, the entire vault went hostile, and Miss Jon was forced to flee in a hail of gunfire. XD Insta-karma, Jon! Though at least Curie didn’t hold the molotoving against him. XD

II. Miss Jon visits the USS Constitution and helps them out! A delight to see Past!Jon tackle this quest, especially his glee upon seeing that the game had some actual SPECIAL checks (namely, if your Intelligence is high enough, you can just fix some of the broken things on the ship rather than going out for replacements). Miss Jon ALMOST snuck past the scavengers for the navigation chip, but then stood up at the wrong moment and got spotted by their mercs – who then proceeded to MOLOTOV THEMSELVES so Miss Jon didn’t even have to do anything. She also had to contend with a Super Mutant Behemoth on her way to get the final quest do-dad (which had spawned in Corvega in her world), which – not fun. But it was all worth it to see the USS Constitution take off!

Right into another building. Past!Jon promptly made a point of going over to climb back up to it, and after a worried moment regarding the crew, was absolutely over the moon to receive a new Lieutenant's Hat. XD Miss Jon promptly then went and got some of her power armor, removed the helmet, and then headed back to the boat to do an awesome jump off it in said new hat. XD She also quite liked the Broadsider cannon-gun she got as a quest reward, which came in handy in the next part. . .

III. Miss Jon visits the Combat Zone and ends up having to kill a WHOOOLE bunch of raiders! Mostly because one of them seemed to recognize her – which, you know what, makes sense. I know the original idea was that the player could do fights in the arena and earn some caps that way, but there’s a non-zero chance that you’re going to be General of the Minutemen by the time you arrive in there – and the raiders are just going to want the leader of the faction now giving them problems again DEAD. Miss Jon proceeded to empty both the Deliverer and the Broadsider into the raiders, and then happily took on Cait as a companion (even if she was immediately overencumbered because of the loss of Lone Wanderer.) Highlights ended with her and Cait cannonballing Super Mutants in the back, and Past!Jon noting that ONCE AGAIN he’d gotten a Legendary melee weapon off an enemy. That if nothing else must have inspired “No Guns!”

So yeah, that’s that – original playthrough wrapped up. Past!Jon certainly seemed to enjoy himself, calling Fallout 4 a worthy entry to the series, even if it’s not the best of the best (he’s a New Vegas fan first and foremost). I’m sure I’ll return to his older stuff eventually (if only because I still need to watch Bacon’s run), but I’m in the mood for something new now. Something a bit more – fantastical. So tomorrow? We start looking at OXVENTURES! AKA, I’ve been meaning to check out the OXBox/OXtra D&D RP saga, and this is the perfect opportunity!

2. Write some more on "Learn To Love Again": Check! Victor has recovered from his initial reeling over Radcliffe’s appearance at the party and – after wondering what he can even do about the situation – has decided that he can at least get out of the guy where her rabbit is. And happily, William and Nell have spotted some important newcomers to the party, giving him a chance to actually interrogate him. . .

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Basically check – Latest Wyrd Sisters Podcast is up and is almost an hour and a half long, sooo that’s gotta wait for my long weekend, but I was able to get the other three!

A) James Turner was back today – and as he felt a bit like poop, he decided to make a video all about different Sims 4 poops! For reasons. XD He made a Sims version of the game (wants to become Fabulously Wealthy, is Clumsy, Materialistic, and a Recycle Disciple, totally randomized clothes complete with eyeball ring) and moved him into a house in Oasis Springs to achieve the multiple kinds of poops! This consists of “pee like a champion” (Confident moodlet, gotten by winning a fight with the Sims he was being mean to in front of his house in an attempt to become angry); “take an angry poop” (Angry moodlet, natch, gotten by declaring enemies with a random Sim while FINALLY actually needing to go to the toilet – it was surprisingly hard to get him to want to poop while Angry!); “take a panicked poop” (Scared moodlet, with James taking him to the Deadgrass Isle pet cemetery and the Von Haunt estate in Windenburg to get scared by ghosts so he didn’t have to turn his home lot into a haunted house); “fertilize” one of the outdoor bush toilets (he actually did this twice, as the first time he was enough in the green that he just peed into it from the outside); and a farty toilet break you can apparently get by eating loads of franks and beans (James loaded the guy up, but never got this one). A very strange and silly video, but enjoyable for what it was! XD

B) Then it was onto Call Me Kevin playing some Minecraft – and setting himself a challenge! Namely, he has to live on his initial spawn “chunk” – a 16 X 16 square of grass in the world! He marked the borders, trapped a pig in a prison of dirt, and then started working out how to live! Fortunately he had a tree just on the edge of his property that he could break apart for wood and saplings, about ten tons of cobble from mining within his chunk to build a house, and he got some seeds to make a tiny farm rooting about in the grass, but – well, it turns out living on a 16 X 16 chunk of land is pretty tough going! He spent most of his time trying to figure out ways to get water for his garden (fortunately his spawn is kind of rainy), puzzling out the best way to get things that were JUST over the edge (turns out you can shove them toward you with blocks), and digging for materials, like iron and deepslate. And fighting the occasional zombie horde and giant spider. XD It was a pretty close thing, especially after he got attacked by some zombies and ran out of usable food – but then a surprise hero emerged in the fishing rod! Because it has a SHOCKINGLY long cast – just long enough for Kevin to reach a tiny pond outside of his borders and actually get fish! So he’s got a home, a source of food, and the ability to try and pull stuff into his chunk. He’s expressed an interest in continuing the challenge, and I hope he does – I want to see if he can actually hook himself a sheep. XD

C) And then we had GrayStillPlays and Streamer Life 3D – yup, more horrible mobile games! We seem to be entering a new era of them (coming out of the pandemic era of “challenge boards to kill me”). This one involves playing as a young lady streaming in her sports bra, doing a variety of activities such as flicking through a dating app online – and then having to beat down her overly-enthusiastic match with a baseball bat; having to dance like she just don’t care thanks to the Wheel of Truth, Dare, and Mystery; embarrassing herself in front of the hot pizza delivery guy by twerking her butt off; hacking into her ex’s computer when he threatens to post compromising pictures and posting HIS compromising pictures first; telling everyone she “ate her twin in the womb” when the Wheel came up again; having an insult-off with her rival (with the final coupling being a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail); doing a home eyebrow piercing because she was bored; and beating up her biggest fan when he broke into her building for a kiss. It was shockingly fleshed out for such a strange and stupid game, and Gray had a lot of fun with it, as he does. :p

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – got my Newcrest Adventures update and a reblog for Thursday (pointing out something interesting about invading the Institute when on the Minutemen route – namely, Dr. Li seems to flee before you can find her in her lab) done on Victor Luvs Alice before I went down to work out. And this evening, three ask replies, one thread reply for Valice Multiverse. Not bad at all.

Okay, starting to question my hypothesis up above, as I was having some trouble highlighting all that text there to copy it from my drafting document to here. . .I'll get this figured out eventually! For now, good night!
