crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Had to stop for gas on the way home, meaning I got hit with the higher prices (not too bad yet, though, only about seven dollars more than my usual standard right now), and there were a few annoying moments, but overall, not too bad. As you shall see in more detail below:

Work – Another fairly quiet day – I finished off another chunk of obituaries, then spent some time looking up donors who have a bunch of failed payments on their credit card pledges so we can shut those off, then did a quality control file for a billing at the end of the day. Nothing particularly exciting. *shrug* That’s just fine with me, honestly. One more day and I’m out for my long weekend. . .

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, finishing off Jon of Many A True Nerd’s “History of V.A.T.S.” video! This was mostly more gushing about how well Fallout 4 did V.A.T.S. and how that deserves more respect from the gaming community – and then complaining about how Fallout 76 largely ruined it. Mostly because you can’t freeze or massively slow time in an online multiplayer game, so the whole point of V.A.T.S. – getting a moment to tactically think about WHERE you want to shoot your enemy – is obliterated. He likes that they made V.A.T.S. scanning (spamming the button to check for hidden enemies) cost some action points, but that’s about it. Ah well – I’m just glad I’m playing the game that seems to have one of the better versions of V.A.T.S.! XD

That segued nicely into my next video, to finish off the “MATN Break” week – a rewatch of his video on how one makes the perfect Fallout game! I watched this a while back, but I’ve no objection to watching it again and listening to him talk about what he likes and dislikes in each game. So far he’s covered the original Fallout ("encouraging player exploration and not leaving a 'breadcrumb' trail for the main quest" and "The Master as a main boss (especially as one that can be talked down, but ONLY if you have the proof he requires)" as positives, the time limits – especially the hidden ones that can doom towns if you’re just not fast enough to help them – as a negative), and we’re into Fallout 2 (first positive – the world actually feeling like it’s moving AROUND you, with stuff going to happen whether you’re there or not, instead of everything being dependent on the player character showing up). I’ll finish this off tomorrow, then Sunday/Monday, time for Oxventure and “Peak Performance!”

2. Keep editing Chapter 6 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check – Tung has given Alice her instructions on how best to blow up the warehouse, and now it’s up to Alice to actually get in and send the place to the moon. So far, she’s had a solid start – able to sneak past the one guy who patrols the hall in the starting house, and use her Obfuscate (which she has “leveled up”) to get past the homeless person on the train platform. I’m about halfway through this chapter now, yay – April posting looking more and more likely! :)

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – only one in the Subs day, so I grabbed a couple of bonus videos as well –

A) Started with a video from my Recommendeds – The English Simmer taking the buyer’s version of the My Wedding Stories survey! Yeah, there’s two surveys going around about the pack – one for people who didn’t buy it (asking why you didn’t buy it and what would get you to buy it – maybe it NOT BEING BROKEN), and one for people who did. Technically The English Simmer got it for free (EA Creator Network and all), but she still wanted to give her criticism and see what was what with the survey itself. It’s mainly a bunch of bullshit about “how satisfied with all these pack features are you, do you UNDERSTAND these pack features, did you have any trouble FINDING these pack features,” meeeh. TES was rather confused by the “understand the features” one in particular. But she was polite, ranked CAS high because she liked that, but said very clearly that the damn thing was broken whenever it gave her text boxes. We’ll see if they listen properly. *sigh* So glad I didn’t buy this stupid pack.

B) Then it was over to OXBox for this week’s (not sponsored by a game I’m not really interested in) list video, “7 Best Secret Endings You Have to See to Believe!” Endings that you might not realize are an option (have 47 inject HIMSELF with the memory-erasing serum at the end of Hitman III? Yup, and you get what is essentially a recreation of the opening of the first game for it), or might not have access to if you don’t do the right thing at the right time (if you say the right thing to Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077 while talking about his potential grave marker, he gives you an alternate option for the endgame battle, and it could result in you doing a cool space heist). I’m not entirely convinced the “bullet hell end credits where you can sacrifice your save data to help others” ending from Nier: Automata counts as “secret,” though. Hard to get to, and hard to get THROUGH, sure, but. . . *shrug* I probably would have gone with one of the other alphabet endings, personally. (How many people are gonna take seriously the idea your android can die eating a fish?)

C) Then we had the actual Subs video, which was Call Me Kevin playing some more GTA V! This time with a mod that – it’s like the Chaos Mod’s little cousin, in that it only affects gravity and weather. Kevin used it to simulate the game being set in 2022, as it came out in 2013 and thus everything being relatively peaceful instead of just one disaster after another isn’t helping his immersion. (Yes, GTA V came out nine years ago, you may feel old now.) He SOMEHOW managed to complete a handful of missions, despite the nonsense – I mean, he failed a couple of missions while in CUTSCENES (one of the cars Franklin tries to repossess getting destroyed by something off-screen; Michael getting smashed up by changing gravity so much when he reunites with Trevor he died), and he had to use a lot of skips, but he DID save Michael’s daughter from the “Fame Or Shame” show, at least! And this with rains of meteors and whales, gravity going bonkers and flinging our mains here, there, and everywhere, and the world occasionally becoming golden haze. Smashing up some trains, shooting up some government folk, and then trying to escape in a dinghy? Didn’t work so well. If only because Kevin either kept falling off the train in his rush to get to the engine before the next effect hit, or because gravity was either trying to drown Trevor or send him to the skybox. XD Or hitting him with chimps. Because reasons. I don’t know who makes these mods, but I hope they never stop. XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – simple one tonight, just one ask reply on Valice Multiverse. *shrug* It happens!

Yeah, pretty quiet night altogether. Now I just have to get through one more day, and I have myself a long weekend. . .if we don't blow away on Saturday, of course. So many storms, so little time. . .Night all!
