Mostly Middling Monday
Jan. 6th, 2025 11:53 pmLike, it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't any great shakes either. But we did watch Chicken Run: Dawn Of The Nugget with supper (which, despite me seeing some negative reviews online previously, proved to be an entertaining-enough movie -- maybe not as good as the original Chicken Run, but still a fun and goofy good time), and I did get most of the stuff on my to-do list done --
Work – Pretty quiet day at work to start the week – in multiple senses. For, you see, not only did the phone ring just once (a lady calling me back to give me a new credit card for her ongoing gift), two of my coworkers were out (one with a stomach bug, the other with a migraine). And the third was preoccupied trying to do stuff away from her computer because she managed to forget her glasses at home and thus couldn’t really see the screen. *shrug* I kept busy doing the GL, getting a bunch of obituaries sorted, and putting on what I could of the checks that came in the mail. We’ll see what happens tomorrow!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike tonight, and back with the GrayStillPlays compilation “100 Dangerous Doodles!” Finished off the Dumb Ways To Die video (with Gray saving a few people before letting a bean burn to death), then got through two ACTUAL drawing games, one where Gray had to create various vehicles to make it through various challenging courses with cogwheels and such (Gray didn’t figure out for the LONGEST time that the wheels went at the start and end of whatever line he was drawing, so if he started and ended in awkward places…), and one where he had to draw various ways to destroy horrible yellow demonic eggs while sparing the white “good guy” eggs (Gray of course tried to draw things like stick figures punching the eggs and plane crashes smashing through them). Left it a few minutes into another car-drawing game, where Gray had to draw a car that could complete a course with a skeleton guy hanging onto the inside of it – he’s currently trying to get a hangman car to work. XD Should be able to finish this up tomorrow!
2. Continue working on “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – despite having a lot less time tonight to work on stuff (see the whole “watching a movie with supper thing” above), I did manage to sneak in a page after finishing up my YouTubery (below)! Featuring Alice heading down the elevator while telling Rabbit not to bitch about her having a long goodbye with Victor (because she likes him and it wasn’t THAT long); Caterpillar letting her know that the meeting place of Muddy, Milton, and the Mysterious Voice On The Voicemail was actually near the Last Round (that got her to pick up the pace); and Alice arriving at said meeting place...only to get a pretty hefty whiff of blood the minute she opened the door. Uh-oh. We’ll follow up on THAT tomorrow!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just GrayStillPlays tonight, with “Bikes vs impossible shark challenge in GTA 5!” Or, rather, Bikes Vs Cars Vs Impossible Shark Challenges! For tonight’s torture board was a battle of four-wheeled vehicles versus two-wheeled (and occasionally three-wheeled) ones, as they went up against such things as an uneven parkour course with sharks being fired at them; a timed buoy minefield where the path kept shrinking; a bunch of spinning islands to leap between while avoiding the diving sharks between them; and a final battle to get into the mouth of Maws, Jaws’s layabout mechanical cousin, as he shot boats at them (yes, the title of that challenge was “You’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat”). The cars got an early lead, with a couple of surprise contenders (the old VW Bug and the even older “grandpa” car) being the first ones to reach the spinny islands, but in the end the motorcycles claimed the day, with a super-fast two-wheeler managing to leap into Maws’s jaws and get the win! Good times, good times...
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: No check – good thing I only had Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) to worry about tonight! I’ll probably just put some of the stuff sitting in my drafts waiting to be properly reblogged into my queue over here tomorrow – we’ll see what happens!
Not the worst start to the week, I suppose! And now I need to get to bed before it ends up too late -- night all!
