Yeah, I was in a bit of a crappy mood most of the day, but I'm feeling better now after some fun times this evening, fortunately. Let me tell you all about it --

Work – A fairly “eh” Friday all told – my ride in was fast, but beset by the speed demons (aka assholes who would ride on my bumper before finally going around me – one particular asshole in a truck remained behind me flashing his headlights for a while before getting the hint); the workday was fairly quiet, with me getting through the GL and the failed credit cards and more roster maintenance, but my coworkers were pretty annoying (including complaining the building was too hot and constantly opening the windows – they ARE post-menopausal women, if you were wondering); and my ride home was fairly quick, but – ironically – this time I got stuck between two people driving extra-slow (both of which I suspected of being on their phones). Just – ugh. Glad it’s the weekend again, even if I DO have to clean.

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike for the final time this week, pedaling my way through –

A) “Sims 4 Team To Expand THIS (Bad Idea or Not?)” by Simmer Erin! A video I saw in my Recommendeds earlier, I was sufficiently intrigued by the title to see what she had to say. Seems like at least one of the people working on The Sims 4 has suggested that they may be continuing to expand upon the emotions that have been so core to this generation’s marketing and gameplay, and Simmer Erin was like “we’d honestly prefer it if you redid the personality traits so they had a stronger impact, thanks.” Nothing too ground-breaking, but it was very funny to see some excerpts of text interviews from around when the game came out with the Gurus talking about how hard they tried to stop the Sims from flip-flopping between emotions – when that’s one of the biggest complaints people have with the game. XD I guess we’ll see what, if anything, happens with the emotion system in 2025!

B) Then, after a false start with another video talking about stuff you may have missed in Episode 1 of Severance (didn’t feature clips like I was hoping, just still images, and I didn’t particularly like the host), I instead moved onto “Severance Season 2 Sneak Peek (Explained)” by HaxDogma! An analysis of those first eight minutes that were put up last month (only available on Apple TV+’s own site, of course, meeeh), talking about what we can glean from them. Hax has a weird theory that there’s a whole series of “alphabetical Marks” being put through a “temper taming” process based solely on the fact that there’s a “Mark W.” among the new MDR staff that we see in these eight minutes, but other than that, he had some solid commentary on the clips he showed! Including pointing out how Mark S. seemed to get lost in the hallways, and using that to suggest that maybe the Lumon building he’s in isn’t the Lumon building he THINKS he’s in; how we can’t trust Milchick when he says that five months have passed since the Innies’ brief but eventful escape at the end of Season 1 (after all, he could tell Mark S. anything, and how the hell would he know differently?); and praising Mark S. for not taking Milchick’s bullshit lying down (insisting that he hear from his old team why they weren’t coming back instead of taking Milchick’s word for it that they refused to come back – didn’t work, but it’s good to see him trying to stand up for himself). Good stuff, and it was nice to see what I could of the eight minute teaser! My personal theory is that this season may be told out of order – like, this episode does take place five months after the Innie Rebellion, but then we’re gonna do a “flashback” and other episodes in the season will fill in that gap. :) I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

C) And finally I rewatched the Severance Season 2 trailer because, like yesterday, I had a few minutes to fill and it slotted into the timeslot nicely. :p Good times, good times...

2. Continue working on “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: No check, but then again I wasn’t really expecting one today – mostly because today was the day Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl released on Netflix, and we ended up watching that this evening. REALLY great movie, by the by – it’s an absolute delight of ridiculous British silliness, and Feathers McGraw/The Penguin is still a fantastic villain. If you liked The Wrong Trousers (and who doesn’t?) and the higher production values/stakes of Curse Of The Were-Rabbit, you should definitely like this. :D But yes, watching that meant I didn’t really have the time to write – plus I wasn’t in the right headspace to work on anything involving vampires after that! Hopefully tomorrow we can get back on track. XD

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just GrayStillPlays tonight, with “This relationship literally killed me,” aka Gray plays Sticky Kiss! This is – honestly, one of the most cursed games that Gray has ever played. It’s what I presume to be a jank mobile game consisting mostly of figures standing on a platform with a wall in the background painted to look like a particular scene (and painted poorly to boot – real classic MS Paint stuff), and your goal is to force them to complete a task via utilizing their ultra-stretchy necks and limbs. Or by just dragging them all the way across the board toward their goal. Tasks included kissing your girlfriend (as you might expect from that title); stealing a dude’s toilet paper while you sit on toilets next to each other (except you don’t take his toilet paper, you just kiss the guy’s head while a poorly-drawn creep in the poorly-drawn window looks on); hitting your alarm clock with a mallet to turn it off (Gray managed to fail TWICE – first by getting the stretchy arm stuck INSIDE the protagonist’s body, then by knocking over the alarm clock in a way that didn’t actually turn it off); dragging yourself under a fellow student’s seat to reach your own (and you don’t even get IN your seat, you just end up under it); waking a dude up by SLAPPING HIM OFF THE SCREEN (like, the dude was just GONE); and making Stretchy Chin Trump kiss his fellow president to stop him pressing the big red button (it was just as weird as it sounds, and Gray had to reset the level after getting Trump’s head stuck in the floor. Which was rather satisfying to see, yes). Just – this game was an utter trainwreck and Gray’s baffled reactions to it, its lack of physics, and its horrible production values were fantastic. Utter laugh riot, ten out of ten.

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – had one thing for each queue tonight –

Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) – Got my Song Saturday post sorted, featuring “Heaven Knows” by The Pretty Reckless! A song I first heard courtesy of my parents looking up the band (I’m pretty sure; they may have been looking up something else and just had the band on), decided I liked, and then decided was related to Valicer In The Dark. Because I’m obsessed with VITD. XD But yeah, that’s all good for tomorrow.

Valice Multiverse – I wasn’t sure what I was going to do here – but then toonsisters at-ed me in a post with a video of a few sketches she’d done of a cat!Alice getting annoyed at being petted, trying to play/catch a fish above her head, and playfully chomping what looked like poor Victor’s hand, with the appropriate cat noises. I was deeply amused and had Cuddlepile!Alice be like “I would HOPE I’d be nicer to poor Victor!” with a laughing Victor assuring her that he’d still love her – after all, Scraps nipped him all the time when they played together. XD So that was nice!

So yeah -- actual day not so great, but the evening was a vast improvement. And now I should probably head to bed, as I do have a cleaning Saturday to get through tomorrow! Plus we're doing Game Night tomorrow, since today was all about the W&G instead, so I gotta be prepared for that. As a result, main goal tomorrow will be to get stuff out of my Watch Later -- at the very least, I want to clear all the OXBoxtra content! Also want to work on "Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland" some more, or at least some sort of writing thing. *nods* We'll start with that and work from there! Night all!
