Yesterday I was giggly from an overdose of webcomics, today I'm angsty because my period snuck up on me. I no likey the mood swings.

Heh. Other than that, not much happening around here. Rift isn't too busy (except for the shipping meme in the cafe), and thanks to said period, I can't really muster up the energy to do anything Nexus-wise at the moment. Bleh.

06.) Ideal mate? Someone who is just as skilled musically as he is, who likes his favorite bands and doesn’t mind going to horror movies.

07.) Turn-ons? Musical talent, long hair, great sense of humor

08.) Last sexual experience? About a week before the whole Carlos incident, his buddy Rick managed to get a skin flick on his TV. The guys got through half of the movie before Rick’s mom caught them and made them turn it off. Later that night, Marty had some very interesting dreams featuring the female actors (which ended when one of them turned into Rick’s mom, weirding him out).

09.) Favorite food? Hot dogs, fresh off the grill.

10.) Crushes? Ally Sheedy (from “War Games”), Jennifer Jason Leigh

12.) Biggest fear? Being dragged back to Arcadia, this time with no chance of escape.

13.) Biggest fantasy? Becoming a famous rock star -- a REAL one this time -- playing the most popular songs of all time. Touring the country, rich enough to own a big house -- the works.

14.) Quirks in bed? I think he’d be a yeller. A MUSICAL yeller.

15.) Bad habits? He’s a little hot-headed and rather susceptible to peer pressure. He doesn’t often turn down dares, no matter how stupid they may be.

16.) Biggest regret? Not being smart enough to tell Carlos that he really ought to talk to his parents before going with him to get that record contract.

17.) Best kept secrets? Remember the living room rug incident that happened when Marty was eight? Apparently he nearly did a repeat performance at the age of nine when he knocked over a candle playing on the coffee table. Luckily Marty had a glass of water on-hand – he extinguished the small flame and managed to push the coffee table slightly to cover up the small burn. Never told anybody. He’s also pretty good at sneaking out of the house and not getting caught, though a couple of times Lorraine or George heard him and made him come back.

18.) Last thought? It would probably be some variation on "Oh, shit" if he died of anything besides old age.

19.) Worst sexual/romantic experience? His very first kiss was with a girl named Suzy Gale. They sort-of dated off and on for a bit afterwards – both early teens, so nothing really special happened besides them making out. Then one day, Suzy told Marty she didn’t think they should date anymore – because she’d realized she was a lesbian.
Yeah, that was kind of a blow to Marty’s ego.

20.) Biggest insecurity? Ending up a complete failure and working in a menial job for somebody he hates. He’s seen some of that with his Dad, and it’s definitely not the life he wants.

01.) Full name? Victor Fitzwilliam Van Dort – the Fitzwilliam comes from the first name of Mr. Darcy from “Pride and Prejudice.” Victor hates it.

02.) Best friend? Poor Victor never really had many friends back home – he’d probably say his old puppy Scraps. He doesn’t do well with people.

03.) Sexuality? Straight male

04.) Favorite color? Blue

05.) Relationship status? Complicated – before Rift he was engaged to Victoria Everglot and had accidentally married the Corpse Bride. But after Rift, he’d probably call himself single, since he has no idea what’s going to happen if/when he gets home.

06.) Ideal mate? Somebody willing to put up with him being kinda klutzy and shy, who shares his love of music and drawing.

07.) Turn-ons? Musical talent, backrubs, having his hair stroked (he’s surprisingly touchy-feely at times)

08.) Last sexual experience? A few weeks before the wedding rehearsal, Victor found himself needing to relax. So that night he snuck out one of his favorite penny dreadful chapters and read it over again. Said chapter was one of the “naughtier” chapters, and, well – Victor got “urges.” XD

09.) Favorite food? Ice cream. Blame Babel and her neverending Rocky Road for that.

10.) Crushes? The girls in his penny dreadfuls, most often. He’s too shy to get proper crushes on real women. Though he liked Victoria Everglot a fair bit, so she probably counts.

11.) Favorite music? Piano concertos – he likes all of the greats, like Mozart.

12.) Biggest fear? Everything Being abandoned because he did something wrong.

13.) Biggest fantasy? Being a hero like in the books and penny dreadfuls – being brave and smart and loved by practically everyone. On the more realistic scale, he’d like to discover a whole new species of butterfly one day.

14.) Quirks in bed? Somehow I see him as the one usually on the bottom *snicker*

15.) Bad habits? He’s klutzy. Startle him and things tend to go flying. He also stammers when he’s nervous or upset. He’s got this tendency to yank on his tie as well, which is probably going to lead to him inadvertently strangling himself one day.

16.) Biggest regret? Not being able to be the “perfect son” his parents want. He tries, he really does, but he’s just too different from the ideal they built up in their heads.

17.) Best kept secrets? The penny dreadfuls he keeps under his mattress back home. Victor absolutely LOVES those trashy stories, no matter how gory or weird they get. He’d probably enjoy comic books in the modern day.
On a darker note, there’s one incident Victor’s sworn never to tell anybody. When he was fifteen, he had a really bad day where absolutely nothing was going right and his mother screamed at him to “stop embarrassing her.” Victor was so upset that that night – he came very close to slitting his throat with his father’s straight razor. Fortunately a noise in the house startled him, and he dropped the razor and ran back to his room. Nobody ever found out, and Victor’s made an effort not to let himself get that low ever again.

18.) Last thought? Probably “Oh GOD,” or “I knew this was going to happen one day.”

19.) Worst sexual/romantic experience? The whole day before he fell through the Rift, honestly. Screwing up his vows at the rehearsal, setting his future mother-in-law on fire, fleeing to the woods, and finally marrying a freaking corpse by accident. Victor has no luck.

20.) Biggest insecurity? Everything . . . Actually, “everything” does kind of sum it up. He’s constantly worried he’s going to do something wrong or disappoint people. Victor honestly doesn’t like himself very much. :(

Bought himself a new girlie magazine and some lotion and settled in for the night. Or tried to – before he could “do” anything, some neighborhood kids broke one of his windows. He had to chase them off the property and sweep up the glass before having his fun. Poor guy.

09.) Favorite food? Pretzels. Yeah, pretzels. He also really likes pancakes – basically started learning to cook so he could make those.

10.) Crushes? He had a thing for a lot of the cute girls they used in the Pepsi ads and in calendars. He really wishes he could have seen some of them in a labcoat.

11.) Favorite music? Classic rock and the 80s tunes Marty introduced him to

12.) Biggest fear? A tie between losing his memory again and ending up Andrew’s test subject once more. Actually, both at once would probably be his absolute biggest fear.

13.) Biggest fantasy? Owning a working time machine and being able to visit all the eras he wants, particularly the Old West. Naturally said fantasy includes being able to bring his friends with him.

14.) Quirks in bed? Needing to do something with his hands. (No, not that! We’re talking about with other people.) He’s not the type to keep them still.

15.) Bad habits? Going off on tangents with lots of scientific words and concepts whoever he’s talking to might not understand. Also the tendency to disappear for hours (or sometimes days) at a time in his room when working on something.

16.) Biggest regret? Talking to Andrew about the flux capacitor. He just wanted to share his big idea with someone, but he’s pretty certain that telling the Fae about that was the reason Andrew decided to kidnap him.

17.) Best kept secrets? Most of his experiences in Arcadia. He’s told only a few people about the operations in any sort of detail, and hasn’t really told anyone about the fact he had to build other machines for the Fae, or some of Andrew’s other experiments (like being exposed to Fae hallucinogenics). Mostly because those experiences were some of the worst of his life, and he doesn’t want to share with just anybody.

18.) Last thought? Will probably be “Well, that wasn’t supposed to happen.”

19.) Worst sexual/romantic experience? Being dumped by Jill Wooster on-campus, after she revealed she was just using him and had been cheating on him with his worst enemy. Doc swore off relationships for a long, long time after that day.

20.) Biggest insecurity? This ties into “biggest fear” in a major way – worrying that his experiences in Chicago are just one big hallucination. . . . He also worries he’s kind of useless in the long run and that his friends don’t really need him. (Sheesh, no wonder he bonded with Victor in the headspace. . . .)

My courtiers cycle in and out of favor, some more often than others. Outside of the Fae...well, it's useless to make friends with mortals; they die too quickly, and by the time they go through the Iron Kingdom, they never remember themselves. I associate with other immortals sometimes, chiefly the Man with the Red Right Hand, and the Hyacinth Girl.

Pan, haha. Although I prefer to think I'm a little more discriminating in my taste than that horned little slut.

08), 19) Yeeeah, I know. The nasty part about 19 is that I adapted that from an old script. Jill Wooster was a character in an early version of BTTF III, and she did dump Doc after he refused to work on a project for her father. I admit I made it even crueler (in the script, she merely dumps him at home, with no mention of another boyfriend), but still. Doc has little luck with women.

01.) Full name?

Talia McBride. Frostbite was originally a barroom insult, ‘I bet any guy with you would lose his balls from frostbite,’ from a very persistent drunk who Frostbite nearly castrated after being felt up in a bar.

Frostbite’s twisted humor led her to adopt that as a nickname. It later became her Cybertronian name.

02.) Best friend?

Ratchet. Very close contenders are Wheeljack, Perceptor, and Red Alert.

03.) Sexuality?

It varies whether she’s human or Autobot. Human, she’s mostly straight. Robot… it would be best described as pansexual right now as she has had and still does have some major grappling issues with identity, gender, sexuality…

That and the Transformer gender is really more mental and programming and spark based than anything else and fluid in some cases. Cybertronians are physically asexual, despite having body shapes that mimic males and females superficially.

04.) Favorite color?

Midnight blue.

05.) Relationship status?

Currently in a serious, somewhat ‘on and off again’ relationship with Elita One.

06.) Ideal mate?

Someone intellectually her equal and can keep up with her in every way. Witty. Loyal and faithful. Science geek is a bonus.

07.) Turn-ons?

Learning. Energy manacles. Matching wits with someone who can offer her a challenge and make her think. Sparring. Carwashes. SCIENCE!

08.) Last sexual experience?

Last played sexual experience was Elita and Frostbite snogging on The Express (a space ship), before being rudely interrupted by some maniacs who tried to let off concussion and gravity weapons onboard while in hyperspace, and in doing so, threw them into zero - g.

It’s hard to say what pissed both of them off more. Having their atoms nearly blown across several dimensions or violently having the mood killed.

I imagine there’s been more snogging since then offscreen.

Human: Chocolate pudding.

Cybertronian: Silicon wafers drizzled with 30 weight oil.

Elita One. Ratchet, Perceptor, and Wheeljack.

Outliving and watching the entire human race go to extinction to become their last remnant – that is, if she doesn’t die a messy death on the wrong end of someone’s weapon or hands.

Related, losing herself so completely as she lives on it’s to the point of having nothing human left in her.

13.) Biggest fantasy?

That the twenty plus years of killing never happened and the War had never touched Earth or her. She knows better than to dwell on it too much, but a lot of people live at least a little in the past, and she’s no exception.

14.) Quirks in bed?

She bites. She also uses her powers creatively to umm… spice things up a little.

Needs to lighten up. Extreme workaholic. Has trouble with letting go of people and events. Needs to stop expecting to people to snap to it when she’s telling them what do. Needs to go visit a shrink to help deal with her many issues, including the PTSD brought on by the Massacre of 2005, aka the Rape of Autobot City.

16.) Biggest regret?

Not being able to make it to Wheeljack in time to prevent his death by last ditch, suicide bombing the enemy. Very close to it is not being able to kill the smug bastard who easily escaped and maimed her for her troubles.

She’s been working on being good enough so that won’t happen ever again.

17.) Best kept secrets?

Her feelings for Ratchet, Wheeljack, and Perceptor over the last fifteen years or so. Her true heritage from everyone else not there when she was converted or trusts enough to know (Doc is one of only two Nexus dwellers who knows the truth.)

Part of her job is keeping secrets. Needless to say, she has lots.

Oh, fuck.

19.) Worst sexual/romantic experience?

It’s a tossup between finding her first boyfriend in bed with another woman during university (Frostbite was a virgin until she met Elita) and what happened when she told Elita about who she had been. Elita took it badly, as she, like a lot of Cybertronians, is a bit xenophobic. So sleeping with an alien was not cool with her, especially as she even wondered if Frostbite was alive to begin with, or some advanced AI of the woman Frostbite had been.

So Frostbite had to prove she was alive and as Cybertronian as anyone else. Which eventually ended up being having to open herself up and expose her internals and spark, which is a Cybertronian’s tangible, visible, soul. Elita and Frostbite reconciled after that, but the incident scarred her as further proof that revealing who she was is always dangerous.

20.) Biggest insecurity?

Relates to her biggest fear. After all she’s seen, and all she’s done, and after all those she’s killed directly or indirectly, she worried about the increasing amount of numbness she has when dealing with the War. She can look at gory carnage without flinching, and pull the trigger on an enemy without regret. She feels she’s losing herself slowly.

That and losing everyone she holds dear to her, while being helpless to prevent it. And wondering if she really deserves to lose them in the first place.

Thing about the only other person who knows is that she's also in the same boat of being completely altered against her own will as Frostbite and Doc. So yeah... the truth only really comes out to those who can really understand.

19) Yeah... that one was painful to play out. Frostbite knew it was coming - general cultural attitudes make it real hard for her if she 'comes out' and not only in the relationship sense - and knowing it actually went better than it would have if generally the partner had been different, doesn't really help. What could have happened was that someone else would have tried to kill her upon finding out - and they would have succeeded or Frostbite would have had to kill them instead.
