Some Chatter

crossover_chickRather busy Sunday -- in addition to futzing around with my Comp essay some more, I played Sims, American McGee's Alice, and did a little dusting. Specifically, I wiped off all the shelves I keep my various minimates and such on, then rearranged everybody. I seem to have lost my Doc2015mate's future glasses, though. *grumble* I could have sworn 1985Martymate was holding them. . . .
As for video games, American McGee's Alice continues to be hard. Uh, no pun intended. I'm through the Centipede boss fight, however, so that's something. That was tough -- bastard kept spitting poison instead of rearing up to expose his weak spot. Asshole. God, I'm already dreading the Jabberwock fight (the real one, not the timed one).
And as for Sims: have a post on Steve & Gary! The reveal that I have a hack that can set OTHs makes it tempting to redo everyone's, but I'll resist. It's easy enough to get them enthusiasm in their "proper" hobbies. However, now that I've played everyone once, I have a question to ask you all:
How canonical do you think I should keep them?
Obviously, this doesn't quite apply to anyone who's canon I've had to more or less make up, but I've been wondering about how close to the movies/games I should keep some of the characters. Or hell, even to my own fanon. Lucy's a single child in my head, but what if her Sim parents want another kid? Dave McFly wants to be a space pirate -- do I let him, or do I force him into a business job? How about Victor -- what if Nell decides she actually likes him and his dog? And a particularly important one -- do I let Henry and Lorina survive Alice's childhood?
I mean, there was always going to be deviations from canon -- Doc isn't a warlock in the movie, after all, but I plan magical shenanigans with his Simself. But I was going to keep some rather big stuff the same. So, do I? Or do I let this Alice have the life the game Alice never got? Do I have Victor get a little brother or sister? Does George become a mad scientist instead of a novelist? Give me your opinions!
And shit, it's that late? Gotta hit the sack.
