Day of Compound Annoyances

A lot of little things that added up to a lot, including:
-->Another badly-delayed bus ride in thanks to rain, meaning I missed out on my usual pre-class computer time
-->Said rain getting the front of my backpack so wet it soaked through the front pocket and got my Science of Discworld book wet (fortunately not a lot, but still!) -- thank God, my electronics were untouched!
-->Cracked skin on my knuckle that keeps bleeding on and off
-->Dealing with the red curse
And so on. Weirdly enough, though, it's like the universe has noticed I'm not in such a great mood and has made RPing rather quiet today. Trust me, I'm not complaining -- if I'd had a flood of replies, I would have had to take the night off active RPing. As it is, I was able to handle my little trickle AND watch Linkara, so that's nice. And I got editing on "There's Always Tomorrow" (yes, actually got the title right this time) done, so I can make a claim to productivity.
As it is right now, I'm going to gather my zazzberries from DragonVale, visit my friends for party hat cash, then see what else needs to be taken care of before I hit the sheets. Here's hoping tomorrow's better, at least weather-wise. April Showers just lead to fucking crappy days, in my opinion.

Date: 2014-04-09 12:32 pm (UTC)Okay, so, Rhoda won a Gold in Air and I threw Crystal into Cold.
No Bloom yet.
The Silver dragon came with the name Midas, which would fit a Gold better. So in a fit of goofy I named it Skeeter from Doug and that episode where they made a comic book with Quailman and Silver Skeeter. I briefly entertained the thought of naming him Norrin after the Silver Surfer, but Skeeter popped into my head first. :p
The Diamond still has less than 15 hours to go (her namesake here at work is getting excited for the hatching) and the Hypnotic has less than 19 hours. So sometime tonight. I did manage to breed an Iron on the first try using Ozzy and Kwame as they're both only level 11 so next in line will be - *checks chart* - Quake and Crystal. So I'll eventually have a Hail dragon named Crystal and a Crystal dragon named whatever. :/ Here's hoping I don't confuse myself again since Crystal's been Crystal for a while so I don't really want to change her name.
I did a little bit of moving dragons around. Since I had to erase all of the Opposite dragons from the chart, it left me with the third Earth Habitat on the Earth/Metal Island empty. So while my Glass was already there I moved my Sand in with her so now I just have one space open.
So, I, ah...*ahem* I bought a Dark dragon, the Boost and a small Habitat since the hybrids I'll be making will be going on my other Islands. Since I haven't set up the Plant/Water Island yet, I put it there to keep it away from the Light Boost. I also bought the Large Moon Habitat to replace the regular one just because. Unfortunately the Habitat takes longer to be built than the dragon takes to hatch.
Speaking of the Plant/Water Island, I'll be going off-chart by having more than one Plant Habitat only because the dragons like the Clover, Rose, Motley and Carnival can be there and have a positive boost. I may wait a little while before setting up this Island to its permanent state just in case any more of the limited dragons can get a positive boost from being there. I have my Plant, Forest, Rose and Clover in one and my Motley and Carnival in the other right now so I have two open spaces. Though the limited ones I know about (Bloom, Terradiem, Bouquet [Mother's Day dragon]) will take a negative hit no matter where I put them the way my Islands are set up, so I dunno.
Yes, I did briefly think about getting the Giant Plant Habitat but~ since it only holds 5 and there are thus far more than 5 I figured I'd just not. I need the gems for other things right now.
That's about it. Thus ends today's tale. :)
Edit: *gigglesnort* The Iron dragon came with the name Gunther. I was gonna name it Tony but that's just too adorable, lol.

Date: 2014-04-09 06:22 pm (UTC)Accidentally skipped the Cold event by forgetting to get Attar last night, but I'm not too sussed about it. Hopefully I'll remember to get it more regularly in the morning! Attar did get me a Gold, and I've got Seismic in Lightning.
Quick warning -- don't make the mistake I made. Blooms specifically need a Storm dragon to be bred -- I thought it was just Lightning/Plant/Cold and threw Victor with Elsa. At least I'll get something decent-selling out of it.
*snork* Cute. And yes, Midas would be better for a Gold dragon, wouldn't it? If mine already hadn't come with the great name Drachma. . .
Congrats on the Iron -- Gunther, LOL. XD I like it. I was gonna name mine Tony too, but I forgot and anyway I like him being Raths. And hey, now you know my pain about having a Carnival dragon and a dragon NAMED Carnival. Fortunately it hasn't caused me much confusion, so don't despair just yet.
Good idea. My Glass lives in the Light habitat as I feel it looks best there, but I've got Dusty, my Sand, in an Earth.
LOL -- I haven't succumbed to that temptation yet. I suppose trying to fill my epic habitats while building up cash for the Seventh Island is good enough a time-waster, so to speak. I wish you luck with your little dark guys! Too bad about the habitat, though. That's always annoying, isn't it?
Yeah, you kind of need more than one Plant, what with having more Plant hybrids now. Though I do have my Forest and Clover in an Earth, since they make more cashola. And really? Hmmmm. . .we will have to ponder this question. (I think my Bloom, should I get one, should be safe on either my Cold/Air or Lightning/Dark islands. I'll figure out the others later.)
Giants can wait, I suppose -- but it is nice to have a Plant habitat that earns more than 500 at a time.
Save the date for tomorrow, Gigs! I got a notification when I logged in just now and SOMETHING big is coming! O.O I think we might be getting an event instead of just a new dragon!

Date: 2014-04-09 07:29 pm (UTC)I also landed a Quake dragon that's incubating. I'm ever so slightly stuck right now since my nursery is full and they'll be done making the egg before any of the eggs are done and I want to save the gems just in case I get the Bloom/Motley shared incubation time.
The 500 at a time doesn't bother me too, too much. Since I have my phone with me all the time I can just pop in every so often and empty them.
Seriously, DV? *logs in* Hm...nothing on my end but that doesn't mean anything. We'll see.

Date: 2014-04-10 01:41 am (UTC)Quake dragons! They're cool. And blargh, I hate those situations. Hopefully it won't be too long before your nursery frees up a space! And hopefully Motleys will get last call soon too, so we don't have to worry which is which.
Ah, yes, good point. You have the more mobile version, so to speak. :P I'm more limited by whatever wifi is in the area. (Though at least I can play at school during class breaks.)
Yup -- people are theorizing it might be some sort of Easter egg hunt. Would be great if it resulted in gems or something.
