High School Is -- Maybe Not Hell

But it's certainly unpleasant if you're named George McFly. We get a full dose of both his geekiness and his creativity today, the latter surprising his future son quite a bit. It makes me wonder -- did the George of the first 1985 still write in private? Scribbling down quick scenes during slow moments at work, quickly pretending they were reports whenever anyone came around? Or did life eventually run him dry of inspiration? If the latter, that would be really sad. :( You know, it's become a thing these days in fanfiction to paint the ending of the first movie as "bad" in some way -- Marty not fitting in with his new family, said new family not being as happy/successful as they appear at first glance or something -- but I honestly prefer it as a genuine happy 80s. Sure, it's definitely got some 80s materialism cheese in there, but -- I LIKE that everyone seems happier and more fulfilled. And I'd like to think Marty does too. (And not just because he gets a cool truck out of the deal.) Just my two cents on that matter.
Kind of a long day at work today, but then most Friday afternoons are. I managed to survive, and I'm starting on the RP stuff now. Will be hitting the DW crowd shortly as I get through what I have to do on tumblr. Plans for the weekend are simple -- write, watch BTTF, watch Helloween's Castlevania mini-sets (he's having internet weirdness and currently can only upload videos a little over ten minutes, so he decided to do a mini-LP of a Castlevania game rather than smaller chunks of Alien: Isolation (he didn't think it would do that game justice)), try to get on RPing earlier than I usually do, and -- yeah, that's about it. Ah, it's nice to have time to myself -- and I get this upcoming Tuesday off too, niiice. :D So that'll be fun.
Only other thing I can think of to report on at the moment is that I downloaded an update for my iPad the other day (was holding off in case it broke visiting friends in DragonVale again -- I didn't want to miss out on friend candy during the event) and now the Alice storybook works again! :D Dunno why, but yaaaaay! I was genuinely quite upset by that, since it really is good. . .
Oh yeah, and Critic's latest commercial roundup is definitely worth watching. I actually recognized a commercial this time! (The Mentos one, if you're wondering.) Fun times, fun times. . .
Okay, to the replymobile!

Date: 2014-11-08 03:42 am (UTC)My friend who lives down the street from where my grandparents used to live had the Skip-It. And neither one of us were very good at it. Heh.
Edit: Oh!! Big Hero 6 was an amazing movie. If you were considering seeing it, GO SEE IT! And stay after the credits. :D

Date: 2014-11-08 06:04 am (UTC)I think I had a Skip-It! And I didn't have much luck with it either. XD
I actually wasn't -- I tend to want to stay home on weekends now as opposed to doing things -- but I'm glad you liked it, at least!
