So I'm Back Housesitting

Emergency illness in the family meant the owners of said house had to skedaddle, leaving me to look after the place overnight. So my new laptop is getting an early test of its portability. For a moment it looked like it actually wouldn't fit in my backpack, but then it turned out that it did -- it just stuck up more than I'm used to. And it's working fine here -- hell, it's working better, because the speakers on this thing means I can actually listen to music if I so choose. Hoo-rah.

Hasn't been the greatest of Fridays, I must admit. Started the day with more waiting around to be let into the office, then had to deal with my work computer being a little shit about the new firewall being installed by IT, then had a scare with a late approval of my timesheet. And of course I'm dealing with the red curse as well, which doesn't help matters. And apparently I've written down a couple of DW passwords wrong -- I got "invalid passwords" for both DeadGirlsLikeMe and ThoseTwoTurrets. Hmph. Still getting used to Windows 8 and its various intricacies too. On the flip side, though, one of the people from Randstad came to visit, and it was indicated that I've been getting good reviews from my recent employer, so that's all well and good. And my new laptop (Lenny the Lenovo) is miles better than the Samsung even with a few quirks. The display is amazing, the sound quality is amazing -- it's just more fun. :) Thank you sooooo much, Mom and Dad.

Anyway, I need to take some time and catch up on Forgotten's tumblr and set up some stuff to queue for tomorrow. G'night all, we'll see how tomorrow goes!

*snork* Well all right then. I'm still working on mine -- but I've got another shot at an Olympus. Got Bronze, then Silver with previous attempts -- hopefully third time's the charm for the Gold I need! I also went ahead and got the Eleventh island after looking it up on the wiki and discovering that the obstacles on it ARE ALMOST ALL BUSHES. Seriously, it is super-cheap to clear that sucker. I approve.

It should be with how friggen expensive it is to get the Island in the first place.

I was just thinking today that the Bring Em Back event might be coming back soon. They started it around this time last year, so maybe Monday if I'm right. Usually events start on Mondays.

I can't remember if I've mentioned this but I tweeted a video of Antoinette singing one of the songs from Rainbow Rocks to Daniel Ingram (composer of the music in the FiM series, tv and movies) and he favorited it and said "very cute". :)

*checks her Dragonarium* I'm at 192 of 203 -- I've gotten every elemental, and most of the ones I haven't managed in the Epic and Special sections simply aren't available yet. (Hence why I'm working on Olympus dragons.)
