Back To Work Tomorrow
Dec. 28th, 2014 10:15 pmFortunately, it's another short week, so I won't have to force myself to get up early too often. My schedule is thus:
-->Monday: Full day, come home normally
-->Tuesday: Full day, get picked up by Mom & Dad to go to Dave & Busters for belated birthday treat (and hopefully to get a new MP3 player if I have the tickets)
-->Wednesday: Half day, get out at noon, may go up to mall for Subway lunch before coming home
And then the first four days of the new year I have off, so that's nice.
Not much to say about today -- slept in til 11, then spent a good chunk of the day watching various YouTube videos. *shrug* Last day of what essentially counts as a vacation, so why not? In DragonVale, Century hatched last night -- and since it looks kind of like a tortoise, I named it A'Tuin. XD (Yeah, okay, A'Tuin's a turtle, but this is as close as I'll get.) Currently working on Leap Year and Panlong. Then I'll try for the Apocalypse, and I think that'll get me all the breedables I wouldn't be able to snag any other time of the year. I'll have to double-check. Still, inching closer to finishing off the list! :)
Anyway, I'm currently getting RP replies done and setting up queues, so g'night all, sleep tight! New Year's acomin'!

Water: Neon (Gold)
Plant: Tropius (Gold)
Fire: Helen (Gold)
Earth: Fang (Gold)
Metal: Ozzy (Gold)
Air: Slythe (Gold)
Cold: Blinky (Gold)
I dropped the ball somewhere in there with the order because Blinky's back in Cold for a second time but you get the gist. I've been using all the same dragons because they're the highest levels. Fang, Helen, Ozzy and Tropius are all level 20 with their pretty crowns. Slythe is 19 and Jimmy and Neon are 16. I really need to level up Steve and Sparky, but oh well.
I was gifted a Coal dragon during Christmas. He came with the name Toasty and I renamed him Carbon after the primary element of coal. I turned another one I got into a Pedestal. Same with a Diamond I'd been gifted.
In trying to breed the ones I'm missing, I did manage a few.
Leap Year came with the name Dewdrop. Since I already have a Dewy (Celtic) I renamed her to Dorothy after the Wizard of Oz reference in the description.
Light Rift came with the name Spectra, which is my Prism. I named it Veil because of the "beyond the rift" text in the description; it made me think of beyond the veil.
Panlong came with the name Flaps. I renamed him to Yomigami after the Celestial Brush God of the same name from Okami since they both represent the dragon in the Chinese zodiac.
I also got the first Snowflake dragon and he came with the name Dendrite. Here is my twisted reason why I'm keeping it: So, according to Dictionary.com dendrites are "the branching process of a neuron that conducts impulses toward the cell". Upon regenerating the Fifth Doctor stated that his dendrites needed to heal. So. Fifth Doctor reference; I'm keeping the name. :p (AL would probably have a field day with that one, haha).
I'm still trying for the Dark Rift (unfortunately their eggs are identical to the Light Rift so it's impossible to know which it is until hatching). My Panlong and Bloom are failing to give me an Ovalith, which I'm only trying to breed (since I have two) because the Goals button wants me to. :/ No luck on the Apocalypse or Century either.
Well, there's still a week or two and change left, so here's hoping. In theory, I should be able to at least get the second Snowflake Dragon before the end of the event. That's all I really care about.
I'm low on DC because of the damn spawn rate on treats (I haven't even collected the Iceberries from them yet today) and I wanted to get my primaries up in level so they could win Golds. I also spent gems the first Double Not-Weekend so they're low, too. I may wind up using them all just to get more chances for the dragons I'm missing but I won't resort to that until the next Double Maybe-A-Weekend and/or the last days of the Event.

I've been trying to use Cold-related dragons, since winter event, but now I'm just choosing high-level candidates like you. You know, I don't have a Level 20 dragon yet? I should really just level up Solder (he's 18, which I think is the highest I currently have). Anyway, Bubbles currently in Plant.
I only got the one Coal dragon (only have one person on my friends list who regularly gives me gems). Toasty, lol -- I would have kept that. XD My own came with the name Landon, and I kept it because it sounded rather cute.
I'm currently trying for the Panlong -- and I just got the Leap Year egg today! :D I'm also getting a Double Rainbow courtesy of the Panlong breeders, meaning the Rainbow category is set! :D Now that's how you start the new year.
I've also managed a Light Rift of my own -- came with the name Rex; could not think of anything better -- and a Century, which, since it resembles a tortoise, I've named A'Tuin. XD I also got the first of the Snowflakes -- named her Gerda after the female protagonist of the original Snow Queen fairytale (because I already used up almost all of my Frozen names). I like Dendrite though. Hooray for accidental Dr. Who references! XD I'm planning on Kai, Kristoph, and Hans for my remaining Snowflakes. Currently working on Apocalypse, and still need the Panlong and the Dark Rift of the "get 'em now!" dragons. (And yeah, the identical eggs thing is going to be a pain the ass.) I'm likely not going to bother with the Ovalith breeding goal, at least not now. I suspect there will be other chances when Spring comes around.
I just got the Winter Wonderland theme (I like the little village along the back, and the people playing on the ice slides XD), so it's just a hop-skip-jump to the next pedestal. The second Snowflake dragon will be tough, but we should make it with a double weekend at some point. I'd like to get the Treatery if I can, but I won't be crushed if I don't. Don't give two shits about the Dragonsai bush.
Funny -- it's been habitats that have been really giving me trouble lately. I barely got any spawns at all during the last hours of the Christmas doubling. Quite annoying. Managed to max today though -- and spent a few gems getting a Plant dragon pedestals. *shrug* Primaries are only 5, so why not? Hoard whatever gems you have left, Gigs! Muy importante!
