It's Christmas Eve!

crossover_chickHasn't felt much like it in this house -- or outside, where it was raining and in the mid-forties for most of the day -- but it hasn't been a bad day either. Your daily highlights:
-->Had the driving lesson early this morning, and despite driving in the rain, it went much better than yesterday. No major incidents -- just me ending up too cautious at pulling out of a side street once and some ass trying to cut in front of me by going around another car. Certainly nothing like yesterday's little fun. Aiming for a repeat of this when I go driving tomorrow.
-->Watched Helloween's latest ObsCure sets with lunch. This game is pretty much pure B-movie silliness, with the plot apparently focusing on the efforts of twin brothers to find immortality by doing horrible things to people, and now one of them is the principal of the school this is all set in and has been implied to have been kidnapping students to experiment on them. We've picked up a new party member, Stan, fought gribblers, been terrified by numerous jump scares (well done, I must say), complained about how little it takes to get these teenagers to "practically dying" status, and generally had a laugh over how everyone talks over each other in cutscenes. It really falls right on the line of "good game" and "so bad it's good game," to the point nobody's been able to figure out if it's actually taking itself seriously or not. Either way, it's a fun watch. :)
-->Did some more editing on Chapter 9 of "Remembering You" this afternoon. This one is actually my first pure Victor-POV chapter, and it features much Radcliffe dickishness. Fortunately it'll also feature a major step in Victor's recovery, so it'll all be worth it in the end. :)
-->Played Sims 4 after that -- which started with Eric and Nikal both at FutureSims Labs. At five in the morning. o.O I promptly sent them home, then followed Eric to work. He had a productive day -- arrested a guy, interrogated him, and got a confession! All while having to pee really badly. XD After that, though -- well, the game suddenly started glitching out on me a bit. He tried to pick up a new case, as per his goals -- but after sitting down at the in-game computer and clicking around for a bit, as Sims do, he'd suddenly pop out of his chair, briefly assume the "default" pose, and then start acting normal again. But he wouldn't have a case, and while the goal would fulfill itself, it would just pop right back up. This -- actually worked out to my advantage, as he hadn't been able to fill his work performance bar up for the day, so I just spammed the glitch to fill it until it was time to go home. I hope it clears up by next time, though -- he JUST made Detective, and that generally requires you to detect things. Nikal got an off-screen promotion too, which is cool -- I bought them a new expensive bookcase as a present (Nikal wanted an expensive thing, Eric a bookcase). At least they're doing well!
-->Opened the traditional "Christmas Eve" present at my house -- the usual pack of gum I get every year. Dad and Mom joked about me getting a lousy present, but hey, I honestly like getting the gum. I chew enough of it, and it can be expensive!
-->Watched Fun With Shorts's Christmas short, "How The Animals Discovered Christmas." Awful animation, silly story, easily one of the worst soundtracks I've ever heard on one of these shorts. Good thing Josh was there to take the piss out of it, seriously. No wonder I'm not in a Christmassy mood. :P
-->Spent some time catching up on tumblr and my DW feed, and queuing up all my Christmas present fics for tumblr peeps for tomorrow. DW peeps will of course receive theirs in a separate post tomorrow sometime. :)
-->Also finally started making that YouTube playlist of "songs I really like for reading stuff" so I can have all my favorites in one place. Currently all Resident Evil and Silent Hill stuff -- what, they have pretty soundtracks!
