Looked up the date of the horrible surprise period last month -- it was the afternoon of the 21st, so yeah, I'm DEFINITELY in range for PMS annoyance right now. And I am definitely feeling more jittery and grumpier than normal, so. . .bleh. Have to keep a close eye on the bodily functions over the next few days! *grumbles* That being said, though, I had a pretty good Friday --

Work – A final quiet half-day to end the week – no check posting, just obituaries and a scan through some of the returned mail and one ACH update call. Tiny bit boring, but I’ll take it over being completely stressed out! And now I’m off for three days, yaaay~ :)

Sims 4 – I ended up playing through most of Fall Sunday with my Valicer trio on their shared honeymoon to Sulani – not the full day because I didn’t want to go too long, but I got quite a lot done! Let me tell you about it –

A) Picked up shortly after midnight with the trio hanging around their beach house – as it was only cloudy instead of miserable and raining, I sent Smiler to do some fishing at the spot at the edge of their island, using some of the 75 fireleaves they had on them, while Alice made buttered crumpets for an early breakfast for her and Victor (I couldn’t find anything appropriately islandy!) and Victor did a quick illustrative painting on his sketchpad. Victor’s painting turned out to be a masterpiece, and Smiler caught a perch (an invasive fish in Sulani) and a big old swordfish – AND maxed out their Fishing skill, thus completing the Angler’s Ace aspiration! :D Nice – good work, Smiler! Oh, and the buttered crumpets were delicious – at least, Alice and Victor seemed to think so. XD

B) With breakfast done, Alice did another surreal painting on her travel easel while Victor cleaned up their previous puzzle on the games table and started another one, “Dragon Blossom.” Smiler came over to help once they’d completed their aspiration, and Alice joined in once she’d completed her painting. Between the three of them, the puzzle was finished very quickly, and left everyone in a good mood. :) Smiler went and caught some katydids while Victor serenaded a dancing Alice, then I set all of them to beachcombing! Alice didn’t turn up anything on her first go, but Smiler ended up finding an abalone shell and another “Eyes Of Sulani” treasure, while Victor found a scallop shell and a sea urchin shell. :) They changed into their swimwear and relaxed on the provided towels while Alice grabbed her painting and her easel for her inventory, then did another beachcomb – this time she got a nice small conch shell, yay. :P I had her howl away some Fury, then join her husband and metamour in relaxing for a bit, before having Victor get up, catch some nearby bugs (monarch butterflies, katydids, and locusts) –

C) And then initiate travel to my upgraded Ohan’ali Beach! Where, while looking for the option to have Victor ask Alice to cloudgaze (it was a want of his – and for some reason it’s in “Deep Thoughts”), I discovered that, at some point, my game had decided that the lot of them should share the last name “Always.” XD Uh, game, Smiler only married Victor, not Alice. . .but then again, since Victor is married to Alice. . . I THINK I can change all the last names back to what they were in CAS (though I might have to do it from “Manage Households”). . .though now I’m wondering if I should make them all “Van Liddelton,” like their grocery store. Would make sense!

D) Anyway – Ohan’ali Beach! Smiler spotted their friend Nalani and went to chat with her for a bit, eventually joining her in making a cute little turtle sand sculpture; Victor and Alice, meanwhile, did some cloudgazing, then Victor played on the swing while Alice slotted her camera into the tripod and took some test pictures to judge how suitable the background I chose for their eventual group photos was (very nice), scavenged the beach werewolf-style (upsetting a passing local – cripes, Sims in general are so JUDGY about werewolves!) and lounged in the toddler pool I’d added (playing with a rubber duck). Smiler then took a turn on the swings while Victor relaxed on a nearby blanket –

E) And then – swimming! Because they needed to have at least ONE swim while they were there. :) I had them all head out into the water together (and, in Victor and Smiler’s cases, change from “more appropriate for hanging out around the pool swimwear” to “actual swimming swimwear” – Alice did that on her own, as I’d originally chosen her Siren dress XD) and hang out for a bit, Alice and Smiler splashing each other and Victor getting a little flirty with his new permanent life partner. :) Nalani swam over to say hi too (though in her human form – how do you get mermaids to just show off they’re mermaids?), and all was going well –

F) And then I got a notice saying that Alice had work in an hour. Because she was actually out of vacation days. Well, that wouldn’t do! I had the gang head back onto dry land so she could officially quit her job once and for all (finally), then – once that was done and she’d had a nice word with Smiler – she headed back into the water while Victor napped on a nearby lounger and Smiler befriended nearby beachgoer Leila Illes for “asking for a drink” purposes. XD What, they were a little dry! It was all above board, I promise. XD

G) And then – group picture time! Yes, with Alice done swimming, Smiler fully satiated, and Victor having woken up from his nap (and hit the slightly stinky Smiler with a Scruberoo), I had the gang head over to the chosen photo spot to start posing! It took two tries to get them to stand in the right spot (Smiler once again tried to wander off just as Alice came around to join them for the shot), but I was able to get them into position and get some great poses. :D A few relaxed, a few silly, a few flirty. . .I also made sure to do a few different sizes and orientations (I believe I ended up doing four small, four medium, and two large altogether, with a handful of portrait-orientated photos in the latter half) so I’d have a nice mix of photos to choose from. :) I do love that I can get trio shots now – it was a struggle to limit myself to just the ten shots you get from one use of the tripod! XD

Oh, but it wasn’t just group picture time – it was also dual selfies time! I had Smiler and Victor take a few shots together, then Smiler and Alice, then Alice and Victor, once again doing my best to mix up the poses a bit (though I think they all had the same “goofy face” one) so I’d have some choices when it came to sorting through them later. :D I do love taking in-game photos of them – it’s a lot of fun, and it’s like the perfect way to personalize their house. :)

H) Now, with my desired pictures done, I wondered if perhaps I shouldn’t just save and quit for the day – but while I was pondering that, I decided to look around for harvestables – and happened across what looked like one of the Sulani festivals! Those, for whatever reason, do NOT show up on the calendar like all of the others, so you kinda just have to stumble on them. The one I found involved some food stands, big fish balloons, and a big fish-pen area in front of a dock, so I naturally assumed it was the fishing contest! Well, Victor, Alice, and Smiler had to participate in THAT. I had the trio head over there via their various teleports (after a failed attempt to get Smiler to superspeed over) and cast their lines into the pen! Amusingly, Level 10 Fishing Smiler didn’t do quite as hot as Just-Got-Level-6-Fishing Victor – Smiler caught a minnow, a celestial grouper, a kitchen upgrade part, and a guppy, while Victor got a tuna, a parrotfish, a fighting plakat, and a bluefin tuna (that one was endangered, though, so he released it). Nice work! And certainly better than poor Alice, who only got Level 3 Fishing out of the deal – every one of her catches was driftwood or seaweed. Sorry, Alice – looks like this isn’t the hobby for you!

I) And it was around this time that I noticed that Victor and Alice’s bladder, hunger, and energy needs were looking a little worse for wear, so – with the fishing contest stuff having vanished and Alice clearly not going to catch anything – I sent them back “home” to their rental. And THAT is where I chose to leave it, at 4:45 PM in the afternoon Sim-time, with the gang considering their options for an island BBQ. :) I’ll wrap up their day tomorrow, after I’m done cleaning and all that – trust me, even an update that is mostly gonna be them cooking and napping on floaties is probably gonna take a while, knowing how micro-managey I can get! But it was a fun session, and I’m glad to have their pictures and such locked in. :) Probably should have at least Alice take a couple more general snaps before they go – we’ll see what happens!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – last night on the bike this week, with a Simmy end to the workouts –

A) First, the latter portion of “This day was almost entirely perfect! High School Years (Part 40),” from James Turner’s High School Years Rags To Riches Generational Epic! As indicated by the title, James and his Sims had a pretty damn good day in the game – but it wasn’t entirely perfect. . .

I. Reginald successfully maxed out his Parenting skill tutoring Breanne and encouraging her to hold in her busting bladder, and was able to go into Full Parent Mode by encouraging his kids to do stuff the next morning! That’s two out of three items in the final part of his Super Parent aspiration completed – all he needs to do now is ensure either Addison or Breanne grows up with three positive character values! He’s also successfully started training Obi to do things like “sit” and “lie down.” Worst thing that’s happened to him so far is the royalty money on all of his Copypastoed books finally running out – looks like he needs to get back into writing novels!

II. Kevin, after a few missteps, managed to knit the final few Legendary items he needed and completed his Lord of the Knits aspiration, gaining the “Sacred Knitting Knowledge” reward trait in the process! So he can FINALLY move onto other things – probably working out. XD He does have this weird fear that Reginald might be cheating on him, but hopefully a woohoo or two will sort that out.

III. Addison is continuing to level up in both cooking and guitar skill, and WAS allowed to attend prom despite not being a student at Copperdale High anyway – in fact, they even won Prom Jester thanks to a vote from Breanne! They also invited Hilary to the prom, and the two shared a lovely dance outside in the rain, before going to the prom afterparty at Plumbite Pier and fooling around on the cuddle carts. XD They ended the day by becoming official boyfriend and girlfriend. :) Things are looking good for Addison!

IV. And Breanne – yeah, she got the worst of the “almost.” Because as it turned out, Julio was a cad. FIRST, he invited Breanne out on a pre-prom date to Myshuno Meadows – only to immediately turn around and leave (despawning in the process) almost the moment they arrived! And then, when Breanne showed up at prom, not only did he largely ignore her – he LEFT PROM midway through the evening! James was fuming over such ill-treatment. Breanne still managed to have a gold-level prom, mostly by talking a random guy into dancing with her, but when she followed Addison to the afterparty at the pier, GUESS WHO WAS THERE. James promptly had her tell Julio off and break up with him, and then start trying to romance some other guy on the pier. Which also did not go well, but Breanne’s got a crush now, so. . . Hmm. We’ll see how THAT goes.

So yeah – pretty good day, with some major accomplishments, but poor Breanne was embarrassed by a loser “boyfriend” at her own prom. Don’t worry, girl – I know that, by the end of this LP, you’re gonna have a super-successful photo studio, and hopefully a better life partner!

B) And second, “I Made EVERY Sims 4 Painting So That You Don't Have To” by Petey Plays It! Because apparently Petey decided he wanted to see every painting in the game (all three hundred and sixty-three of them), so over a series of streams, he created a painting club, cheated all the members to have the right traits to paint emotional paintings whenever and to complete paintings faster, briefly uninstalled Discover University when they ended up utterly obsessed with figure painting, and created a horrible TV-and-gaming room for them to chill out in when they started getting burned out. And the result of that was him collecting a copy of every painting in the game, putting them in a series of rooms, and uploading those rooms to the Gallery so everyone can enjoy the paintings! *shakehead* Three hundred and sixty-three. . .damn. I gotta get Alice and Victor to paint more so I can see more variants. XD

2. Do second draft of Kevin’s gift fic: Check – did this between the Sims 4 write-up and my workout! As a reminder, this is a fic featuring my old “Lovecraft Jazz AU” (featuring Victor, Alice, Victoria, Emily, Bonejangles/Sam, and Lizzie in 1920s America taking on Lovecraftian horrors after surviving a particularly harrowing few days in Innsmouth), with the gang meeting Kevin’s Ducktales OC after she hired them to investigate a mysterious something stalking the mayor of the city she lives in (and her secret girlfriend, though that hasn’t come up). No major changes from my first draft – just cleaning up some dialogue, rearranging some lines and reassigning them to more appropriate people as necessary, and making sure it all flowed well. Normal editing stuff! And now all I have to do is wait until I’m ready to queue it up on Victor Luvs Alice for next Saturday. :)

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just the one today, GrayStillPlays and “When supercars hit a wall at 999,999,999 mph,” aka Gray plays Jelly Car World! Nope, this one had nothing to do with GTA V – instead, Gray was trying out a puzzle game where you drive a car made of jelly through various courses, looking for the red stop sign (or the green triangle, aka the “secret end”) while dealing with such things as various types of crushers, grinders, elevators, and falling floors. However, since your car is made of jelly and thus deforms without any problem, none of these can kill you – in fact, as Gray found out, oftentimes the path to victory involves squeezing yourself through the various violent citrus slices impeding your progress. :p There are also various power-ups, like the ability to make your car big to cross certain obstacles or move certain bits of scenery that you can’t move while small, or the ability to attach a balloon to yourself and fly short distances up tunnels or over hazardous terrain. Oh, and you can give your car a custom paint job, so Gray turned his into the YEET-mobile. XD He didn’t particularly like having to use his brain on the puzzles, but he did, and he had a very good time going through all the various hazards that he kept likening to various food items (Gray, were you hungry when you did this one?). It looks like a fun game – though, uh, you might want to turn the sound off if you give it a try. There’s someone going “boing” and “buuuh” and “oof” all throughout in response to the car getting crushed and squeezed and bouncing off things, and it MIGHT drive the unwary a little mad. :p

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – just had to take care of one ask reply over on Valice Multiverse tonight! Though I am gonna try to get a head start on pictures for the next Chill Valicer Save update on Victor Luvs Alice – it’s the Valicer Wedding Episode next, and I suspect that will be LONG.

Not bad at all, huh? :) Plus game night tonight both had homemade pizza bites and BTTF Monopoly, with me coming back from the brink of bankruptcy to kick my parents' butts. XD So that was fun. And now I'm doing the social thing, so I'd best get back to that. . .but things to do tomorrow include cleaning; finishing up the Guaranteed Good Weather Day of the Valicer Honeymoon in Sims 4; doing some sort of writing (given the PMS situation, I may write something more self-indulgent than LB:DQ); and trying to knock out at least one OXBox RE4 Remake video. *nods* Hopefully this is an achievable to-do list! Night all!
