With "There MAY be a patch on the way, though, so I'm thinking I'll hold off on any mods I might want to get for the time being. Want to minimize the amount of updating I'll have to do afterward. . ." regarding Sims 4?

Yeah, the patch hit yesterday. I found out this morning on SimsVIP. *deep sigh* It's not a MAJOR patch, just a bug-fixing one, but it's like -- really? REALLY? Uuuugh. . . And one of the modders whose mods I use has not yet installed the patch -- they don't THINK anything will need updates, but I'd like to know for sure! *facepalm*

So yeah, skipped actually playing Sims 4 today. Did pick up a few more bits of CC, though -- found someone who had a couple of Elizabeth's dresses from BioShock Infinite (not that I'm planning on making Elizabeth -- I always thought her first outfit might look good on ALICE), Chell's outfit from Portal 2 (the Chell Sim I already have, so. . .), and the female Malkavian outfits from Bloodlines (I HAD TO -- I have to dress Alice up in CAS ONCE. XD And hope she doesn't try to kill me through the screen. Or, if I want to try and MAKE the female Malkavian, just for funsies. . .) And I grabbed the "Asylum Set" from Raizon, which looks to be mostly furniture you'd see in that club from Bloodlines. So that was nice. And I watched a BUNCH of Sims-related videos, including:

-->Carl's Sim Guides going through all the game packs that have been released and talking about their main features and what it means for buying them (he says that if he didn't want to run restaurants, he wouldn't have Dine Out -- which I find amusing, as I have never actually run a restaurant in Sims 4 and use them mainly as places for Sims to visit!)

-->Three mod and custom content videos from itsmeTroi (one on a mod that allows for more complex family relationships, by allowing you assign certain Sims as grandparents, great-grandparents, cousins, in-laws. . .it's kinda neat, though you need another mod to disable the romantic options for a few of these not-recognized-in-game relationships; one on some of the cool CC stuff packs made by the community, which -- was not presented well, but at least the very cool "Pufferhead Stuff" got a mention; and one on a mod that is currently for the mod-maker's patrons only, but will be released later this month -- it brings back firefighters! Granted, it's in the form of two random Sims, and you need the special outfit in a separate download for them to look right, but hey. The fire alarm is no longer useless!)

-->Three Plumbella videos (a dive into The Sims 2 Pets -- which included a better look at her real-life doggie too! -- that ended in chaos as her Simself had three dogs, two cats, and a FUCKTON of hamsters and thus could not take care of herself at ALL, really; a speed-build video of a house plan that someone linked her on Twitter -- she WAS going to do it the normal way, but her first few attempts at recording it kept causing software malfunctions, sooooo -- mildly cursed house? The mysteriously disappearing tiles in the second floor hallway say "yes"; and another hop into The Sims 2 to try building a tiny home -- a rough prospect, but she managed, and made a pretty cute house in the process!)

-->And the latest GrayStillPlays Sims video, where he made a mansion for 100 Sims, and then got one infected with that super-contagious "Rabid Rodent" disease from My First Pet Stuff. . .yeah, Sims started dropping like flies. (BEFORE Patient Zero even became properly contagious, in fact! People were just urinating themselves and dying of embarrassment, or dying in fires, or. . .eventually we had a rash of deaths from the actual disease, though. It was pretty hilarious. Aaaand Gray hinted that the last Sim standing, a randomly-generated sufferer named Whitney, might have earned her way into the main stable of characters he uses. . .)

(There was also a video someone on tumblr linked me about the Half-Life and Portal games and everything we know about their timeline and universe, but as it's not Sims, it doesn't really count. ;P)

So yeah -- even without playing the game, it was a very Sims day! I can live with that, I suppose. :p

Not much else to report, really -- few things happening in the work e-mail that I took care of (and I was abruptly reminded that, under normal circumstances, I'd be happily preparing for a five-day weekend. . .). Moved the snippet I'd already written for Victor for "Trick or Treatment" over into the main "Londerland Bloodlines" document and started editing it to better fit into the actual story (I am having all the feels regarding poor Victor getting hit by a car and begging Alice to stay with him because he just doesn't want to die alone. :( Fortunately Alice knows how to save him, yay~). Tomorrow we're supposed to have some locally-heavy storms coming through in the afternoon -- we'll see how that affects my computer time! Dad's advised me to make sure my batteries are charged up, just in case, which I shall be doing. Hopefully there will still be time for Kubz Scouts, Call Me Kevin, and Fallout 4. We'll see how it all goes.

Right now, though, I do have a comment that needs clearing out in the inbox, sooo. . .night all!
