crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
Another stressful day at work (trying to get caught up on more exceptions and get through more complicated GLs now that the online place is FINALLY posting stuff properly), not helped by a couple of maintenance guys coming in to fix an AC leak and one of them for SOME reason leaning all over MY desk even though the AC thing is at my COWORKER'S desk and you'd think they'd KNOW that if they fucking WORK MAINTENANCE there. . .I don't THINK he actually touched my bag (which I've been leaving in a certain spot on my desk because I like to have it close and this way I know exactly what it's touched), and I wiped down the area with a disinfectant wipe right away, but. . .well, you people know what I'm like right now! Talk about not making it easy for me to concentrate on my actual fucking job! And then the ride home -- well, we had a tropical storm warning today because of Isaias, and the fucker passed through RI RIGHT AS WE WERE GOING HOME. Got pretty damn wet heading back to the car because I didn't have a raincoat and opening an umbrella in THAT wind would have been nonsensical. Somehow I still made decent time despite having to drive through heavy rain and wind, dodging giant puddles and tree limbs all the while. And then it stopped pretty much by the time I got home. *facepalm* I do not regret at all my decision to eat the last brownie with the last of my Forbidden Chocolate ice cream tonight.

*deep breath* Anyway. Round-up of the afternoon before I go to bed:

-->Actually, I did get in a short workout, so that also offsets brownie and ice cream

-->Did some more on Chapter 11 of "Secundus 2" -- the gang has confronted Barkis and Buford as they work out how to stop their plan. A shame that is about to get derailed by Barkis attempting to pull Victor either into or under the runaway. I mean, obviously he's not going to succeed, but damn, huh?

-->Viewed a few things on the YouTubes:

A) Watched, again, an OXBox and an OXtra video each:

1. OXBox – 7 weirdest things that games have used as currency – and Alice: Madness Returns making you collect teeth to upgrade your weapons was first on the list! Hell, she made the THUMBNAIL, which made me smile! :) And right after that was the Fallout series staple bottle caps, so I got to enjoy a bit of Fallout 4 too (along with Fallout 3). And there was Bayonetta (angel halos) and Bloodborne (blood echoes) too – kind of a greatest hits of games I've enjoyed either playing or watching. I needed that.

2. OXtra – Another commenter video on 7 ways video games stop you escaping! Man, the people love talking about this, huh? Of note this time are actual plot-important barriers to keep you in the world – one magical (Gothic, a wizard forcefield to keep condemned prisoners mining ore in a dangerous valley), one sci-fi (Sunset Overdrive, an "invisible wall" created by a drinks company to hide a zombie apocalypse caused by their drink via vaporizing anything that tries to get through). Also Slender: The Arrival TECHNICALLY letting you leave the game world, only to dump Slendy himself on you the moment you reach the void beyond assets. Someone give that protagonist a hug.

B) And then, as a capper, we had more GrayStillPlays GTA V! XD Today's experiment: a "skeeball" game made up of patriotic platforms and chip tubes to funnel human bodies hit by a variety of vehicles into basketball hoops for points (as indicated by speed limit signs). It took a LOT of fiddling to get things just right (including multiple misses and multiple people stuck inside the tubes), but a combination of moon gravity, steep slopes, and speed boosters got him the results he wanted. * pumps fist* You go, Gray.

-->And I'm just wrapping things up on the Valice Multiverse (as usual, more anon asks than I know how to deal with; seriously thinking of turning it off), before I answer what's on DW and then head to bed. Tomorrow. . .we'll see what it brings. Night all.
