crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
Was able to spend most of the morning working on a spreadsheet I didn't manage to get to yesterday, and then the afternoon was more cleaning up duplicates and whatnot instead of being pressed for time on a dozen different to-do items. My talky coworker was EXTREMELY talky, though, which was incredibly annoying, but -- less "murderous rage" feelings. I'll take it.

I will also take another productive day on the to-do list:

1. Get in a workout: Check! And while I’m still with Jon of Many A True Nerd, I haven’t yet started the “Nuka-World Level One Survival” playlist. Instead, I started a mini-series about his first look at the Vault-Tec DLC with Bacon! I was looking for something short to break up the two series, and stumbled across a fifteen-minute video of him (which upon starting, I learned was the first in a – *looks it up* four-part miniseries!) looking at said DLC, starting in media res with Bacon already in the vault and preparing for her first experiment with Clem – the Powercycle! What followed was Jon building a mini-vault (Vault 89) inside the vault (complete with a fancy “main” vault door that doesn’t even need power! Maybe because it isn’t the ACTUAL main door into the vault), with a living area, a research area, and the Hidden Vault-Boy Murderer corner. XD He even included a powered door just past the vault door so he could lock Clem in whenever he wanted!

This, uh, bit him in the ass. First of all, Clem had a few issues with actually pathing to the bicycle once it was time for him to ride, preferring to stand against the wall instead of using any of the doors and forcing Bacon to use her Workshop Magic (aka go into workshop mode and lift up one of the corner sections so he could continue on his way) to let them both in. Then, having chosen the “inject the cyclist with Buffout so they’ll keep cycling” experiment, she let Clem on the bike and let him pedal. . .

And, of course, Clem pedaled so hard he shorted out the power to the entirety of Vault 88. And this being Jon’s first rodeo with the DLC (as opposed to his speedrun in Grill’s Survival playthrough), he didn’t realize that would happen, and found Bacon trapped in Vault 89 with Clem because, of course, the powered door didn’t work. Happily, Workshop Magic still worked to let Bacon out – but Jon still had to end the episode there as she didn’t have enough junk on her to repair ALL the generators scattered around the vault (low on ceramic). XD Oh Clem. . . I’ve just started episode 2, which partially consists of a “flashback” to Bacon actually finding Vault 88 and doing a bit of the story stuff (as Jon recorded all that, but wanted to start the series showing off what you could actually DO with the new items first). Also afforded me my first look at Bacon – who, as it turns out, is a young lady in the feminine version of the Grognak costume, armed with a giant fish hook that does twelve times the damage when she sneak-attacks raiders. Suddenly Grills’s X4 with his guns looks downright paltry. O.o Got up to the point where she killed the raiders trying to break into the vault (having previously cleared the quarry during earlier adventures) – we’ll see how she handles Overseer Barstow tomorrow!

2. Work some more on “In A World Of His Own”: Check! Started Chapter 5, the Sketchbook World chapter, with Victor and Alice on a watercolor lake. And poor Victor doing all the rowing. XD It’s a pretty cute scene, though – Alice telling Victor about her original idea of watercolors for a birthday present for him (all the way back in “Finding You”), and them discussing the upcoming wedding and how they’ll be eager to stop living in the East End. :) Good times, good times. . .at least until the rain starts. XD Like I said, always have to get wet. . .

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Not only got the three in my actual subs, but a few others as well!

A) Actually started with a bunch of GrayStillPlay tiktoks – somebody gathers them up from that site and reposts them on their YouTube channel, which pleases me greatly. Some good, funny stuff, there, including a couple new songs, yay~ XD Also threw in a quick half-minute “music video” of Victor Van Dort to a snippet of Melanie Martinez’s “Play Date,” because I was curious as to what the hell it was. (Look, I searched his name on YouTube a few days ago looking for better-quality Corpse Bride clips, and now I’m getting weird stuff in the Recommendeds :p)

B) Then, after supper, it was time for James Turner and another episode of his new Sims 3 LP in Boroughsburg! The game is still a laggy mess (seriously – you can see the care that the creator put into making the world, but it’s kinda rendered moot by the constant texture pop-ins), but Semaj had a pretty full couple of days regardless. He’s doing quite well at the firefighter job – working out at the station and fighting another small house fire has gotten him two promotions, and he’s now a Fire Safety Instructor! He’s also discovered Inventing thanks to a workbench at the station – just making little things now, but it could develop into something more! His romantic life, though. . .hmmm. He and Saira had a decent date at a summer festival (taking a photo together and competing against each other in the hot-dog-eating competition – Saira won, as she hadn’t just finished a pulled pork sandwich before entering XD), but then she invited him to a party where the dress code was swimwear despite her not having a pool, and he got called “inappropriate” for trying to get some food from the fridge. And then she told him she was glad he was leaving as he was making the party lame. Yeesh! Sims 4 Sims are never this rude. . .also, his clothing vanished from the laundromat when he was forced to abandon it overnight due to exhaustion. So yeah, ups and downs. Poor Semaj. :p

C) Next up was Call Me Kevin and more of The Forest! The end of The Forest, in fact – after braving one more cave to find a keycard, Kevin set up a zip-line over a sinkhole and flung himself in, to find a creepy lab full of eldritch artifacts! Because this is supposed to be a survival HORROR game. :p After making his way through the creepy lab, Kevin finally found Timmy dead in a strange iron-maiden kind of alien thing. As it turned out, though, this “artifact” was hooked up to a device that could possibly bring Timmy back to life – but it needed a sacrifice. Kevin initially thought this was going to be him and peaced out to live the rest of his days on his houseboat, but eventually went back and discovered he was too big to fit – he needed a kid. And, unfortunately, the only other one available was a multi-limbed monster thing! Kevin managed to down it with judicious application of Molotovs, chainsaw, and arrows, but then the girl’s dead body proved inadequate to power the artifact. The only way forward was to perpetuate the cycle and down a plane with the OTHER artifact on-site. . . One year later, Kevin’s a famous author and Timmy is fine, despite some twitching! Despite all the twitching, in fact – he waited until the post-credits stinger, showing him all grown up and ready to start looking for other artifact sites, to start transforming into a monster. XD Good times – I love a good bit of chaos survival with Kevin. :D

D) Speaking of things I love, we also had more GrayStillPlays Happy Wheels! Gray survived the “square run” (pedaling like mad over turning squares); a short harpoon jump (so many harpoons in the groin, but he managed to make it to the end); the toilet run (like a bottle run, but with toilets and a frightening amount of Yeet); a couple of different tricky rope swings (timing is everything!); a couple of jet falls (both of which also included swinging elements, huh); and a “stay on the conveyor belt” challenge (he got pretty good at blocking the objects – but where he REALLY shined was finding a way to cheat the board by hanging onto and traveling across the conveyors until he could find a way to cling to the wall at the end XD). Also we had the return of the bottle flip, and he got the Impossible rotating platform on the FIRST TRY. Yeetus the Mighty! XD

E) And then, because it was in my Recommendeds and just three minutes, threw in a bit of Sarah Millican reading 50 Shades of Grey. Her accusing Christian Grey of wanting a Kit-Kat from a “foil packet” just after his erection springs free (booooing) is exactly the laugh I needed tonight. XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – did my Friday post for this week, set up the rest of my queue, and now I’m good through Saturday, yay~ Plus I drafted out a silly “incorrect quote” shitpost for my tumblr for later, so I’m good. :p

Yay productivity~ Gotta ride the high while it lasts! As it stands, I still have a comment to answer, then bed to get to. Readjusting my sleep schedule has been a bit iffy. . .but I'm trying! Two more days. . .night all!
