crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Fairly literally -- it was kind of a gray and gloomy day today, with a few spits and sprinkles of rain, but we may be getting some nastier stuff as the night goes on and we move into tomorrow. Elsa is on her way, and it seems she's bringing some gusty winds, downpours, and general unpleasantness! We'll see what happens. I mean, I was already woken up early this morning by a thunderstorm, sooo. . .

Anyway, the round-up, for your pleasure:

Work – Fairly quiet, mostly because we’re on a processing “pause” while auditing stuff happens. Not that this has stopped us from finding problems, mind. . .like what I do about people who need to update their credit cards on pledges. *sigh* Fortunately it seems like we’ve found some solid work-arounds and whatnot, so we should be good for however long we’re in “pause” mode. I mean, I have plenty of obituaries I can look at in the meantime. . .

Beanbags – Not a chance, not with Elsa on the way! Wasn’t actually raining when I got home, but it was sure threatening to do something. At least it was reasonably cool outside. . .

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check! Back on the bike for another thirty, finishing off the “cosmic horror in Bethesda-led Fallout” (there is a LOT of creepy cult activity in Fallout 76, along with some weird tentacled being called The Interloper – I am intrigued), and watching part of Carl’s Sims Guides early-access look at Cottage Living (he is incredibly awkward as he narrates being a poor Sim on a pre-built farm with a cow, some chickens, and no groceries he can actually use to cook meals. Also, as per usual, the base game families are wandering around the new world). Quite the contrast in subject matter, I suppose, but good for keeping the calorie burn up!

2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! After receiving a very non-canon e-mail from Dr. Boyle (checking his work e-mail from his personal computer, I guess), Alice has broken into Boyle’s office to figure out where the hell Controlled Substances (where the blood is being kept) is, and how to open it up. She is not impressed by Dr. Boyle’s security in leaving his door unlocked, but he gets points for having his computer off in this timeline. XD I might have to leave out her finding out anything about him wanting to give people “pelvic examinations,” though – Alice has better things to do than try to plan the quiet death of another doctor. :p

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! No Gray today as I am not one of his members, but one of my other subs picked up the slack, soooo --

A) Started with a double-dose of James Turner –

I. “Rags to Redecoration, Part 22!” AKA The Part Where James Spends Almost The Whole Episode Redesigning The Basement. XD He DID get it to look a lot better, though – he made the bedroom a tiny bit smaller and the bathroom and walk-in wardrobe a bit bigger; added a diagonal fireplace to the bedroom; rearranged the bathroom for a better layout and did a proper shower; turned the other side of the basement into a full-on studio (photography stuff, knitting stuff, decorating stuff – the works), and – with Deli’s help – made the final space into a sort-of catch-all sitting area with the stuff he couldn’t fit elsewhere (like a bookshelf and the decorations box from Seasons). I think it came out pretty nicely – certainly better than what we had before! :) The only gameplay thing of note that happened was Hana coming over with a present and James finally getting tired of the mixed signals and having Hazel tell Hana that they’re officially just friends. Ah well. . .I guess that does free her up to eventually get with Chaz!

II. Speaking of whom. . .second video of the day was the start of James’s early access Cottage Living LP! Chaz Ricks has cut ties with his chaotic family so hard that he’s not even part of their family tree anymore (aka James copied his Sim over – he says he’s actually going to merge this into the main save once the game is out of early access, which, not sure HOW, but okay) and is now living in an alleyway next to a debug cottage over in Henford-on-Bagley! And he is, uh, struggling. There’s not a lot of ways for a newly-arrived Sim without a cent to his name to make money in Henford. He’s trying to do some errands for the local creature-keeper, Michael Bell, but he’s not having much luck so far – he can’t watch the local foxes, he’s only found ONE chocoberry plant that he’s been able to harvest from, and – well, the third errand involves getting Michael some food, which he cannot cook just at the moment, so. . . He’s got a TINY garden of the few berries he’s found set up in his alleyway, and he’s found a bench to sleep on, a public bathroom to spruce up in, and someone’s leftover grilled chicken to eat, but yeah. So far, he’s made a total of $8 from selling a single perch and a mushroom he harvested. And his goal is to get a thousand times that for an old barn to renovate. Methinks this is gonna take a while!

B) And then it was onto Call Me Kevin playing pirate in Sea of Thieves! His pirate listened to a tall tale from a castaway on the beach and went sailing into the minty-green freshness of the underworld! Where he found a lantern that he could light from the fire of souls; a bunch of lamp-lighting puzzles using said lantern; a very chatty and very grumpy pirate captain skull that he had to free from a cage and then take back to his grounded ship; and the ferry of the dead, containing a ghostly Jack Sparrow with a secret pirate treasure! Who got caught when Kevin unsuccessfully tried to battle Davy Jones for him. Because Kevin came into this adventure without many cannonballs but with a lot of bananas. XD We ended the episode with Jack Sparrow in Davy’s clutches, the fate of the world in peril, and Kevin’s pirate sound asleep on the ferry’s deck. XD Good times!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – with the Victor Luvs Alice one already set, I just needed to throw my three ask replies into Valice Multiverse. Easy peasy exploding-lemon-squeezy. :p

So that's all set, at least! I of course want to know all the things about Cottage Living and its related base-game updates now, but I shall have to wait for that information -- either via SimsVIP and Sims Community, or by watching stuff during my workouts, because why not, convenient way to get information. XD And at least I only have a half-day tomorrow. . .granted, it's the half that's going to be the stormiest, but -- well. We'll see what happens. If the weather's bad enough, maybe we'll be doing our half-day from home. *shrug* As it stands, I do need to answer my comment and head to bed. Night all!
