crossover_chick: Victor on the ground with one hand up with the text "Nooo! Anything but the fangirls!" (CB: save Victor from the fangirls!)
As in I've been spending various bits of time just doing the pacey "making really random shit up in my head" thing, or bouncing along to various songs. Been a bit of a battle to get the brain meats to concentrate on what I meant to do, but eventually I wrangled them! As evidenced by the to-do list:

Work – Another mostly quiet day, with most of my morning taken up by the GL and the afternoon by obits. Though we did have a computer changeover happen shortly before we left – my supervisor has switched us to laptops so, in the event of a work-from-home situation, we have an official company computer to work from. *shrugs* Fine by me, I never liked having to use my own laptop anyway. And hopefully it’ll never be needed, but. . .

Beanbags – Another “no” day – kind of just stayed gray and icky all day, with a sprinkle around lunchtime. Tomorrow’s supposed to be better, though.

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another day on the bike to finish off episode 29 of Jon’s Original FO4 Playthrough! Miss Jon continued exploring the Institute after meeting Fillmore, locating the break room, cafeteria, shop, etc, and poking at some mysterious hidden doors in said areas (one was master-locked via terminal, the other led to a rather rusty-looking area where a bunch of synths were tunneling out a new expansion to the Institute). And also looting pretty much everything she could find because the Institute is the best source of aluminum in the game and Miss Jon got things to build. XD She eventually got around to finding the other Directors, starting with Madison Li (whom Past!Jon found as rude as her Fallout 3 self – Madison is pretty abrupt in her speech, I must say), then hitting Ayo over in the Synth Retention Bureau (whom Past!Jon didn’t like because he kept referring to synths as “it” and said that they couldn’t possibly want to escape), then Alan Binet over in Robotics (whom Past!Jon did like as he’s one of the people who consider synths to actually be people – also he found the synth creation process pretty fascinating), before finally heading over to Bioscience –

And finding the FEV lab. She promptly picked the lock and went investigating, taking out the Assaultron left behind to deter visitors and discovering a dead super mutant and a cat locked in a room together – with toys. Meaning. . .well, if I ever DO write some “Fallout of Darkness” fanfic proper, Victor’s probably going to be absolutely FURIOUS. Past!Jon was pretty horrified himself (especially over the game’s implication that the super mutant ate the cat out of starvation). Miss Jon worked her way to the central lab, found Virgil’s last holotape message, and picked up the serum to cure him, before finally getting back into Bioscience proper to meet Holdren and be baffled by synth gorillas. Talk about a tonal shift. . . And then, of course, it was time to hack the Institute with the data scan tape and send a message to Patriot, who replied that Miss Jon needed to meet him in the maintenance closet!

. . .I wonder what Past!Jon’s reaction is going to be when he reaches said closet and finds Liam Binet. Whom he already saw in there during Miss Jon’s initial wanderings. XD That’ll have to wait for Sunday, though!

2. Edit some more on "Londerland Bloodlines": Check! We’re out of Ocean House, but not quite out of Chapter Three – we’re wrapping that up by having Alice read Dorothy’s diary and bemoan the male sex – only for Leader to point out she saved a guy earlier that very night. :p She’s just upset, kid – you know how many bad experiences she’s had with men. Though Victor’s gonna be anything but. . .just a bit more of her summing up the sidequests she has yet to complete, and oh yes, picking up her laundry and getting a bite to eat. :p

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – even got in a little bonus video!

A) Okay, had to watch this one quick first – the behind the scenes video for the music video of Ed Sheeran’s latest, “Shivers!” It was a fun ride – clearly everyone was having a lot of fun making this ridiculous video. Ed even said he dressed up like Elton John regarding one of the more ridiculous costumes. XD And I am strangely tickled that the static effect when he and “Sophie” were having a moment at her work wasn’t full CGI, but at least partly done with by them touching a real static electricity device to make their hair stand up. XD Good stuff!

B) In the actual Subs, we started with the latest Fun With Shorts – “Making Yourself Understood Part 1,” the first half of a film all about effective communication! Technically correct but pretty dull and layered with a few era-typical prejudices (the wife of a family automatically believing something just because it’s in the paper, for example) – well suited for a Josh riffing! Looking forward to the second part when it comes up.

C) Then it was onto James Turner and “I do whatever The Sims tells me to” – a challenge all about being random and following whatever prompts the game might provide! This included making a Sim with the “Create A Story” feature (he ended up with elder Dayton Loyd, a Lazy, Cheerful, and Outgoing spellcaster with vampire features and a desire to be a Public Enemy), who went to live in Evergreen Harbor thanks to a random number generator. And right at the start of the game he accepted the invitation to visit Batuu, because of course. XD Fortunately he backed out of that fast and went back home, where after some initial bumming about and learning about Neighborhood Action Plans, he decided to go for whim-based gameplay! Which led to him getting into a few random fights with people, making friends with Knox Greenburg and hanging out at the Hare Square cafe in Windenburg with him, buying stuff like a TV, a dishwasher, and a hot tub (which he used as a napping spot), and – notably – getting so into photography he ended up visiting a lot of random Sim houses to take pictures either of or with them to make a photo wall above his bed. Also Vlad showed up and sucked his blood. XD The Sims is a very strange little game when you follow your Sims whims, it seems!

D) Then it was time for Call Me Kevin (natural Irishman) vs Duolingo (trying to teach him Irish)! Yes, Kevin has been using the app to teach himself Spanish (as he now lives in Spain), and figured it might make for an entertaining video to teach himself some Irish too! Because despite being 100% Irish and having studied the language for nine years in school, all he can actually say is “can I go to the bathroom?” XD He actually made it through the initial basics, and got about halfway through phrases before losing all his hearts and being unable to refill them. Written Irish is definitely a trip, let me tell you. As a bonus he showed off some of the older instructional videos used to teach the language, including a very weird cartoon about an evil guy wanting someone to count his bushes and a queen repeatedly complaining “I’m fat!” *shakehead* I don’t know what was going on in the classroom back then – but I kinda want to see more. XD

E) And then it was time for GrayStillPlays and Grade Papers Please, a terrible mobile game that makes the mistake of putting Gray in charge of educating primary school children. And also allows him to dress them up in funny costumes. XD Activities included grading homework (Gray being very generous with the points if a particular answer amused him), doing calisthenics in gym class (tap faster!), examining egg babies (no cracks or breaks – except when you’ve HATCHED A DINOSAUR), making model volcanoes (and it really does NOT matter how much of either liquid you put in, the volcano will erupt anyway), and stopping the kids from actually standing close to each other at the school dance. Gray was quite tickled with his little classroom of kids including Deal With It Young Joker, Fishbowl Girl, Liam Vorhees, and Depressed Child (“how many days are in a week?” “too many :(” – I feel you kid). I don’t know where he finds these things, but I do enjoy them!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – Valice Multiverse set with one thread reply and one ask reply! Though the thread reply was a bit of a bitch, thanks to my reblog bugging out and freezing, then trying to reblog into the queue in triplicate. *grumbles* Bad tumblr.

So yeah, not my worst distracted Friday night, but still -- got stuff to do, trying to keep on-task. Especially since writing thing might be forthcoming. . .let's sort out that to-do list for tomorrow:

1. Clean my room

2. Watch the onlyabidoang video and at least two OXBox/OXtra from the Watch Later, and keep up on YouTube Subs

3. Free Writing Day -- maybe focus on some more tumblr drafts

4. Play Sims 4 and either do building or follow Wheatley to another day of work

This seems reasonable. Let's hope it remains that way tomorrow! Night all!
