Yeah, not a lot happened today, hence the "boring" -- and I'm PMSing pretty hard now, hence the "twitchy." *shakehead* The hormones, man -- they really do love to fuck with you. But I shall spare you my bitching about my stupid menstrual cycle and instead just give you the write-up on my day:

Work – It was a very boring start to the work week today, I must report – the GL consisted of exactly two checks that were deposited last Friday and thus was very easy to complete; there were like three obituaries in the most recent papers for me to look at; and we got one phone call, from a lady checking her pledge balance (her latest payment was processed after the latest billing was sent out, so she wanted to make sure we had it). Oh, and after my coworker left for the day, I got one late check to process – payment on a guy’s pledge. *shrug* I ended up spending the majority of my day looking at obituaries online to see if any of the people mentioned were in our database (and a couple were, so I was able to clean them up at least), and doing various puzzles from my puzzle calendar or that puzzle section of the paper I grabbed a while back. *sigh* I know I say “boring is better than stressed,” and it is, but it does have its own unique stress of “I really wish I could be getting stuff done at home instead of rotting away doing nothing here.” Meeh. We’ll see how tomorrow goes!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, and back with Hot Fuzz! Today saw me get through the thirty-five-or-so minutes with all the murders-disguised-as-accidents (well, except for the last one, because there was a very inconvenient witness to that one), and our hero Sgt. Nicholas Angel trying to convince his fellow officers that they were murders and not accidents, and that there was a greater conspiracy at play here. And not doing a very good job, sadly, because nobody but Danny likes him. :( I left off with Nick ranting at his fellow coppers, wondering if he’d lost his mind – tomorrow, he has a chat with the Chief Inspector, then attempts to crack the case wide open by laying out everything he’s found in front of his main suspect – only for a crucial missing detail to throw him off...

2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – I officially started editing Chapter 6 today, aka the last chapter of this particular story! *toots noisemaker* (I mean, it’s not like I’m going to be posting this final chapter anywhere anytime soon, but – still. :P) And this one had a fun opening scene – remember how Alice jokingly asked Victor to help her steal the Ankaran Sarcophagus at the end of Chapter 5? Victor sure did – as it turns out, he went to the Museum of Natural History while Alice was sleeping in-between chapters, and not only got her a map of the main museum, enhanced with his doodles of where the security cameras were and what the security guard patrol routes seemed to be, but also drew her a map of the “relic restoration rooms” downstairs after getting a tour of them! Noting in particular one keypad door down there that might lead to the storage rooms where the sarcophagus is being kept… So yeah, the chapter officially opened on him giving Alice his maps and chattering on about how she might be able to disable the security cameras in the relic restoration area if she can get into the glass booth near the start, and Alice being like “…” XD I mean, she was very grateful, she just wanted to make sure that Victor knew she wasn’t trying to give him a command or anything the previous night. Victor assured her that he was just happy to help, and that he’d had a fun time at the museum. :) They also discussed how odd it was that LaCroix kept giving her jobs like this (with Alice wondering if he had less people reporting to him than she’d originally thought – after all, the only ones she’d seen beside the Sheriff were Terrence and Van...Hatter made it clear though that LaCroix was just picking on her), and how nice it was to either come home to a genuinely friendly face (Alice) or see someone come home and be genuinely happy to see him (Victor). Which led to Alice remarking that Victor saying that was kind of depressing, and Victor realizing that, oh, yeah, that really IS depressing, damn. Poor guy – he’s only just realizing just how terrible his parents really were. :( At least he’s well away from them now! Too bad Alice can’t get well away from LaCroix yet...anyway, we’ll see where the conversation goes tomorrow! I’ll give you a hint – somebody is going to be offering someone else a blood donation...

3. Watch something on FreeTube/Invidious: Check – FreeTube is still not updated, so it was over to Invidious to watch the latest from Josh Way tonight: “Fun With Shorts: Understanding Others!” A Young American film about a high school press club, featuring three different perspectives on the appointment of social outcast Ben Curtis (who dares to wear FLANNEL) as editor-in-chief of the school paper – that of Bob Stevens, the popular kid who thought for sure he had the job (seems nice on the outside, but considers Ben a screw-up and a failure because Ben’s parents aren’t great – he was pissed when Ben got the job instead of him); Ben Curtis himself (who wants to be liked by Bob and his friends, but is too afraid to approach them because he’s certain they’d reject them – and also he considers them pretty stuck up; he was pretty shocked to get the job, as you might imagine); and their teacher, Miss Alton (who thinks Ben is an excellent worker and an imaginative writer...but spent most of her segment having to talk herself into giving him the editor-in-chief job because she knew the other kids didn’t think of him the same way). The idea was to show off how what we think about a person and what that person is actually like may be completely different things, and how we have to meet people halfway – what it really did was show off what a fucking jerk Bob was, how Ben clearly has low self-esteem from his upbringing and subsequent social isolation, and how Miss Alton needs a firmer spine. *shakehead* At least Josh’s riffs were good, from the opening “Do I have to?” in regards to the title, to telling Ben that he should abuse his new power when he got the job, to mockingly saying Miss Alton’s lines with her because he’d already heard them twice, to declaring he had better things to do with his time than worry about the internal lives of “30-year-old junior high students” at the end. XD Glad I can still watch his stuff with Invidious while I wait for FreeTube to get its act together!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Substitution check – I didn’t do anything with my queue over on Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler), but I did straight-up reblog something – another set of MediEvil Resurrection screenshot redraws from my friend Nebby! Featuring her takes on the Witch Of The Forest and the Pumpkin Witch from that game – and let me tell you, she gave them some MAJOR glow-ups. They were your usual huge-nosed lumpy witches in the game, and she gave them much more unique identities. The Witch Of The Forest has willow branches trailing from her hat, for example – and of course the Pumpkin Witch wears a pumpkin-themed dress. :) She’s a really talented artist, that’s for sure – I’m always impressed with her stuff!

Other: Despite a few clouds and the weather being a bit cooler than expected (honestly, the latter was a bonus, given how freaking HOT it’s been lately), we did get out this afternoon to play some beanbags – and I’m happy to report that things were very equal today, with everybody winning once, coming second once, and losing once. *nods* Nice and egalitarian! Though I will say Dad pulled off the best win, taking Mom and me out in the first game in three throws. XD Final scores were me 3-2-W; Dad W-3-2; Mom 2-W-3. We’ll see how the next set of games shakes out tomorrow!

*nods* Nothing special, but at least the evening had some fun stuff. :) And now I really should try to get to bed and get some more sleep -- night all!
