Dilemma of the Day: I have an idea for a new Drabbles88. Amazing, huh? There's just one problem with this idea:

It's set in the Secundus universe. And as you're all aware, Secundus is going to be this year's NaNo project. And the rules of NaNo say you have to start your novel from scratch, minus any plot outlines or notes or things of that nature. However, the story I'm thinking of would be handled from a completely different perspective in the story itself. It's more like filling in a missing moment than anything.

So, tell me -- is it cheating if I write up a mini side story beforehand? (I should also note that the story has the potential for spoilers. I don't remember if what it mentions is something I've noted on my LJ before.)

Personally, I think if it's not going to count towards your wordcount you can prewrite whatever you want. It wouldn't be cheating if you were going to be writing a sequel to something, right? Same idea.

Of course, I might just think that 'cause I'm interested in reading the story, but I think my point still stands. :-P

they're more like guidelines anyway.

stories don't spoil, the mold makes it more flavorful. like cheese
