crossover_chick: picture of Alice (Wonderland) in front of the swirling purple Wonderland tunnel (AMA: Alice down the rabbit hole)
Finding the American McGee's Alice Wiki means I'm all set for pictures when it comes to my "matching wardrobes" series on Tumblr. It also means something new to browse, even though I probably have enough shit to catch up on when it comes to AMA/A:MR-related stuff.
-VD: I would say. Don't go too crazy now.-
I'll try not to, but it's fun being able to visit the trope page and suchlike. Expect major distraction for a few days, boys.
Now, something that I really should have posted sooner -- happy EXTREMELY belated birthday, gigs!
My Obsession )
Final note of the day -- just saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 (we missed it in theaters). Honestly, the film dragged on for me a bit in spots. The "traveling around in the woods" bits didn't translate too well from page to screen. But the action sequences were pretty good (especially Ron versus Horcrux) and I liked the visual style they used to illustrate the Three Brothers story. :) It wasn't bad, but I think Part 2's gonna be better because it has the actual climax. We'll see.
All right, I have information to absorb about my game. Later!

I has fic, as per usual:
No Longer Oblivious )
So yeah, hope you like!

And for the rest of you, more Winter Bingo prompts! One sappy, one funny. Something for everybody!
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
Happy Holidays, everybody! I'm having a pretty nice Christmas so far. The haul:
-->Two packs of gum
-->Two pairs of bed socks
-->Two things of Ferrero Rocher chocolate
-->A can of hot chocolate mix
-->A purple button-down shirt
-->A new pair of pants
-->A Corpse Bride T-shirt
-->A blue pajama shirt (since I've got more bottoms than tops)
-->Interesting Times by Terry Pratchett
-->Two Borders gift cards -- a $40 one from one aunt, a $25 one from the other
-->A $25 Newbury gift card
-->A new pair of bootie slippers
-->My Alice poster framed (Mom actually managed to slip it out of my room without me noticing)
-->And the latest Corpse Bride Hallmark ornament! It's Victor and Emily at the piano, and it actually plays part of the duet!

Now, I believe I have some stuff for you lot. First, "A Week of Secundus Christmas:"
Day Seven: Carols )

And now, some gift-fic:
Ael: )

Gigs: )

Moose: )

Ally: )

Hope you enjoy! I'll be back later with a few pictures of my loot. :D
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
I has fic:
But Doesn't It Clash With His Clothes? )

As for myself, I ought to get back to the NaNoing.
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Well, as happy as it can get -- really hope you feel better soon. :(

I have fic for you, maybe that'll help?

Because He's Super-What?? )
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
Here, have fic:

Crash Bang Boom )

Anyway, happy birthday!
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
In honor of the occasion, you get a shortfic:

Flyin' High )

Hope you like it! Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] anonymoose_au!
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
Of course, God knows how many of you are actually online, so. . . :p I've been having a nice Christmas overall. Woke up late, watched "A Christmas Story" with the folks (we have it on DVD, so no commercials for us!), and played "Monopoly Deal," since Mom wanted to play a game and that's all CVS had, apparently. It's a bit tricky to figure out, but eventually we got it. Dad won two games in a row. :p
As for my haul (counting presents I opened yesterday):
-->Ghostbuster Minimates (Ray/Winston/Gozer/Stay-Puft pack)
-->New, really soft purple bathrobe
-->Frosty the Snowman-themed pajama pants
-->Four sets of soft socks in varying shades of purple (two from my aunt and uncle, two from my parents)
-->A squeezy Wulfenbach Airship with included Girl Genius postcard picture
-->New brown corduroys with a belt
-->New sweatpants
-->A homemade Corpse Bride shirt (my Mom made it with that iron-on photo paper stuff, the picture is Victor with a butterfly)
-->Two new purple pillowcases with iron-ons -- one with another copy of the Victor picture, the other with an American McGee's Alice picture
-->Big 40-piece canister of Icebreakers Gum
-->2-pack of Icebreakers mints
-->A pack of pens
-->3 new notebooks
-->New headphones for my MP3 player (they clip over your ears -- my earbud ones just keep falling out)
-->Reaper Man from the Discworld series (incidentally, I'm almost done with Eric -- it's been a fun ride :D)
-->New slippers, though these I can't use yet -- turns out the medium was too small, so they've got to exchange them for a large.

Not too shabby a haul -- my favorite bits are the airship, minimates, and the T-shirt. Though the bathrobe's definitely nice too. :D
As for gifts to give, here's some Christmas fic for my favorite girls:
Ael )

Moose )

Gigs )

Ally )

Tracey )

So Ho Ho Ho, and a Merry Christmas to you all!
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
-HD: *throws confetti and teabags about*-
-WRM: I'd ask if you played Alice, but I heard your sounds of frustration.-
*snork* Yeah, we're in the leaf-riding sections, which are evil. I hate the stupid ladybombers, and the snarks, and how it's darn near impossible to stay on the freaking leaf. And coming up is the Duchess boss fight, which is sure to be a blast. /sarcasm
-HD: You'll do fine. You've fought her twice now.-
Yeah, but you have to remember, I also only play this game once a year. I tend to forget things. Just keep your fingers crossed for me, everybody.
In happier Alice news, she's shown up in the Nexus to announce her release from the asylum!
-HD: Wonderful!-
Yeah. I also update her LJ proper with a quick fic describing her waking up after the final battle. It just felt appropriate, given the day. (Also why I'm updating at 10:06.)
-M: Hey, it's not all Alice today.-
Indeed -- today is also Elisabeth Shue's birthday -- happy birthday, other Jennifer.
-HD: *presents the Jennifers with scones with candles on them*-
-J: *giggles* Thanks, Hatter.-
And, most importantly, it's Ael's birthday today -- happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] martyfan! I have fic for you, natch. Took me a while to figure out what to write -- then I took notice of two characters on your RP list:
You Ain't Nothing But A Hound Dog )

Anyway, I have more tags to answer, so off I go!
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
I GOT MY GIRL GENIUS BOOK AND BOOKPLATE! WITH A PENCIL SKETCH OF GIL! AND IT LOOKS FANTASTIC! :D
-TD: About time, huh?-
Yeah -- stupid printer problems. I've been waiting on this for months! Anyway, the book itself looks great. It's even got a few extra pages in the back with some of the images they previously offered as donation wallpapers. :D And the bookplate sketch is AWESOME. Since my scanner is being a little bitch, you'll have to settle for pictures of it after we framed it:
Gil Is The Best )

While that's the obvious highlight of my day, I have to say that Linkara was pretty damn awesome today too. He took on "Batman: Fortunate Sons," a 1999 graphic novel about Batman and Robin fighting this crazed rock star. It's basically about how everything connected to rock is evil.
-M: *jawdrop* WHAT THE HELL?!-
-M2: That's screwed up! Is this one of those idiots who thinks rock is from the devil or something?-
I don't know! Maybe he likes Jack Chick! (Somebody has to.)
-Martys: *fume, muttergrumble*-
-VD2: Moving along, how's the fanfic coming?-
Got some more written on "When Worlds Collide," got the first prompt of 30 Dances written in my notebook. I should also mention I've gone back and put tags on a lot of the fanfic in my memories -- I wanted an easy way to identify all of it, particularly the prompt fics. I'll be including all the tags on this entry so you guys can click back and see what's what.
So yeah, today, all told, has been pretty good.

Which means tomorrow's probably going to suck. *braces self*
-HD: Oh, don't be so negative.-
I can't help it. You've seen what happens when I'm happy!
-D: Go play some more Spymaster and try not to think about it.-
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
-TD: Now what?-
Trying to figure out how often the average Victorian bathed.
-TTV: . . . *headdesk*-
I'm not accusing you of smelling, I'm just curious! I've heard stuff like Queen Victoria bathed but once a year, and the wedding stuff I found earlier hinted at an annual bath, but is that honest-to-God historical fact? GOOGLE IS BEING UNHELPFUL, AS IS WIKIPEDIA.
-M: Something's not on Wikipedia? No way.-
Yes way. At least, not from what I can see. *frustrated*
-D: Does it really matter that much?-
I suppose not, it's not like I'm going to make [livejournal.com profile] deadgirlsliekme or [livejournal.com profile] save_us_alice smell, but -- I like random trivia. I wanna know for sure!
-HD: Well, I don't know about Victorian England proper, but I bathed every day. I like water.-
-WRM: Me too. You didn't take regular baths, you got stickers and stuff in your fur.-
-MHG: *nodnod* Very annoying.-
Heh, I bet.
Annnyway, in other news, Clockwork's been busy Nexus-side. He's chatted up a Sweeney about finding out your world is fictional, answered somebody's question about bits of you you'd like to hide, and said hello to [livejournal.com profile] tea_holic's Hatter.
-HD: Ooo!-
Yeah, that last one promises to be interesting. :D I do find it ironic, though -- I was trying to keep the playtime down, because of the move. I guess I do still have about a week, though, so there's something.
-RPD: Weren't you going to do something with Victor too?-
Yeah, I should do that in a bit. Might as well, right?
-OD: Nothing else pressing?-
Not that I know of. I got my writing done today. Over a page more on "Cinder-Marty," and I wrote Moose a giftfic since it's her birthday over in Australia. Still a day early here, but let's post it anyway:
A Complaint Is Lodged )
Finally, Twitter appears to be the new drug of choice for Rifters. Tay and Matt got one last night, and now there's been an explosion of the things. It's kind of weird to be AHEAD of the curve for one of these memes.
-DW: Really. Clockwork's had his for a few months now, hasn't he?-
Yeah, he got it not too long after he got his LJ. It's a fun little site, granted.
-RPD: Do any of your other characters get one?-
I'm considering it. I just wish there was a Twitter Login feature for Firefox, like the LJ one. That would be cool.
Anyway, I'm off again to wander the web and tag and stuff like that. And maybe give Alice her default icon -- so far it's one for the first icon, three for the second. (Sorry Moose.)
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
*is whapped soundly for the pun*

Anyway, have a parade of Ficness. First, the end of the Eighty-Eight Advent, though, as I said, this fic is 121 words long:
Eighty-Eight Advent: Christmas 121 )

And now, giftfics! They have a theme this year -- Unusual Presents. Hope you enjoy!
Door Number 1: Ael )

Door Number 2: Gigs )

Door Number 3: Moose )

Door Number 4: Tracey )

Door Number 5: Ally )

Merry Christmas, everyone!
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
I has fic for you! I hope you like:

It Gives You Wings! )

More later -- I have Alice to play.
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
Have a shortfic I think you'll enjoy.

The Best Revenge )

Have a happy birthday! Me, I get to deal with another batch of thunderstorms apparently coming through. *is quite annoyed* I am SICK of all this crappy weather on weekends!
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
Have a couple of ficlets -- muse!verse, both Doctor Who/BTTF crossovers:

Living Arrangements )

Surrounded by Madboys )

Hope you like! Happy 25th! :)
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
I managed to finish it, despite my lassitude (I really hate what my period does to me):
Inspirations )

Now to give buying the Minimates another crack.
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
Giftfic time! :D Here we go --

For Ael, a SG-1 story that involves some interesting weirdness:
I’m Not a Monster – Oh, Wait, I Am )

For Moose, who loves her video games:
The Secret Lives of Sims )

And for Gigs, whom I had a hard time thinking up something for:
Gift Exchange )

Okay, I'm gonna have to go eat dinner and hopefully negociate a break in the Christmas Story marathon my Mom's set up so I can watch my Christmas BTTF TAS episode. Merry Christmas! :D
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Again, empty canon day. The boys are probably still refining their plans and working on getting the DeLorean ready for tomorrow. (Eeek, tomorrow! The temporal junction point of the entire universe is hard to summarize!)

Not much to say -- I managed to go this whole waking period without hitting TV Tropes, so the muses should be proud of me. Not here at the moment -- might still be at Moose's, or maybe the Inkwell. I'm sure they'll be back tomorrow, though.
Net has been a bastard -- keeps closing because of some problem or other. I dun like having my order messed up -- I'm used to the WordPerfect bar being on the other side of my assembled net windows. Hmph.
Net being a bastard did help me get my ass writing, though. I finished up my request fics, and I got plenty done on the NaNo project. First, the request fics -- for [livejournal.com profile] anivad, a BTTF fic, no topic in particular:
Dance Lesson )

And for [livejournal.com profile] bttf4444, a story about Marty having a twin, Calvin:
Two of a Kind )

And now, the NaNo wordcount of the day.
*pause* Er -- I just uploaded what I wrote to my webpage, and now I've got two conflicting figures. . . . I'll go with the one WordPerfect gave me, simply because it's nice and round:
Zokutou word meterZokutou word meter
17,700 / 50,000
(35.4%)

Not too shabby. (My NaNo page read it as 18,038, btw) Of course, this is pre me having to deal with Clockstopper. Still gotta figure out the best way to capture him. Besides frequent unconsciousness. Damn my love of cool powers.
Anyway, off to fool around with "When Worlds Collide -- Really Collide" some more, and perhaps some other stuff. Later.
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
I've finished Chapter One! :D Now the real meat of the story comes in. Word count for said chapter:
Zokutou word meterZokutou word meter
4458 / 50,000

I'm aiming for roughly 2,000 words a day. Keep your fingers crossed.
-M: I still can't believe he managed to get out of Hell.-
Well, I had to have him around to terrorize you all. Trust me, he goes back in worse condition than he left.
-VuM: Considering the way he ticked off the Devil, I'm not surprised.-
-TD: I have to admit to some minor confusion -- how is he going to get his hands on the story version of Victorian-Dressed?-
I'm thinking it'll be like this -- the time machines are always set to go to Hill Valley. Since there isn't one in the Americas in your world, it defaults to the Europa Wulfenbach one. Flimsy explanation, I know, but this is a NaNoWriMo fic -- word count is more important than plot.
-HD: That's a rather backwards way of looking at things. I heartily approve.-
Glad to hear it. I still need to figure out just who he's picking up, of course. It's 1990 when he arrives -- guess my best bet is to check the timeline and see who'd still be active.
-D: You know, you could probably have him jump around in time as well as dimensions to get just the villians you want.-
I know, but I sort of want you to all be on the same page timeline-wise.
-TD: . . .-
. . . Oh, yeah. Okiedokie then, now I have to justify Jack going back that far.
-VDM: Attempt to lose pursuing Docs?-
That could work, yeah.
-VD2: How many characters are going into this?-
Oh sheesh, loads and loads. Jack's going to end up with 10 Martys -- and that's BEFORE we crash into BTTF!Wonderland and get you guys involved!
-Docs: . . . O.o-
I told you, it's epic.

Of course, NaNo means I'm not working much on other fanfic. [livejournal.com profile] geno0823's latest chapter of "Midsommer Lost" does inspire Changeling thoughts, though.
-VD: I miss the Victorian era conception of fairies.-
LoL, well, "Cinder-Marty" has one of those, and she's your canonical trilogy love interest.
-VD: Still.-
-HD: You're having those creepy Andrew thoughts again, and I know you're trying to make things worse for Marty now that Geno's set the bar higher.-
Worry about the creepy Andrew thoughts for now -- I'm still working on my prologue thing.
-TTV: Speaking of the prologue thing, when it's my turn, I want to watch "The Mask" as much as I want.-
Be my guest. I'm actually kind of in the mood for it myself.
-TTV: *grin* Can we watch tomorrow?-
Heh, we'll see -- tomorrow's football, don't forget. As for the rest of you --
-RPD: We've been handling the angst you dish out for a while now.-
-D: *nodnod* Besides, we know the villains get paid back more than enough.-
Yeah. Hell, with the new idea of skipping around in time as well as universes in the NaNo, you'll probably be able to beat up ALL of the worst of the worse -- Jack, Amina, Andrew -- should I throw Biff in there?
-DW: Why not, he is the canonical villian.-
-OD: *tentacles chatter* The kids have suggested Carlyle.-
Ooooo, that would be a good choice. Thanks kids.
-J: This is going to be the most complicated fic ever by the time we're done mapping it out.-
Tell me about it. But I think it's going to be a lot of fun too.
As for other fic, I'm gonna go ahead and post [livejournal.com profile] darkjediprinces's Meme Fic, a BTTF/Dr. Who crossover starring Ten:
Snark Battle )

Okay, now to try and get going on the last two of those, then do some work on "You Look Interesting." Probably do some more with the Overly Plotted Bunnies as well.
-VD2: At least you have that extra hour.-
Yay Daylight Savings!
crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
The boys and I just watched a sporking of a really bad Roger Corman horror movie, Wasp Woman. *sigh* I miss Josh Way, he was good at the sporking thing.
-TD: *patpat* It's not like you can't find the official work on YouTube as well.-
I know, but sometimes it's nice to see someone else try to handle the role. Sporking's fun.
-D: I think our Sporking counterparts would disagree with that.-
Heh. Anyway, work today was annoyingly busy, but I did manage another page on "Cinder-Marty."
-TTV: *pout*-
Don't worry, Victor, you get Halloween all to yourself -- I'm watching "Corpse Bride" tomorrow, so what better way to get into the mood for "Corpse Mask?" Not to mention the next section is really mostly editing -- I wrote out an early version before I decided to do it officially.-
-TTV: Oh, wonderful. *grin*-
-M: Tell us your costume.-
-TTV: No.-
*giggle* Forget it, he's not going to tell us. Although this thing had better live up to all the hype, Victor.
-TTV: *mysterious grin* Oh, I believe it will.-
-RPD: How'd your Sims experiment go?-
We're makng progress -- the screen flashing has gone by the wayside, and I was actually able to make into Eureka! Unfortunately, I kept getting all sorts of graphical glitchness as I scrolled around -- the buttons on the top and control panel going solid grey, houses turning black, trees flashing different colors. . . . And the game crashed when I went to see Twin Oaks Park. Didn't play anyone -- didn't want to see what would happen.
-RPD: Well, it's progress. Sounds to me like we know it's the video card now.-
Yeah. *grumbles* I hate computer maintenance. Dad actually suggested buying another whole computer, but this thing's only a year old! Not to mention I just dumped money on my Spy Sweeper and Trend Micro subscriptions. (Okay, yeah, those could be transferred, but still. . . .)
-HD: *shakes finger at my computer* Bad Pavillion. Very bad.-
-VD2: At least there hasn't been an-
Don't say it!
Aanyway, I has fic for a couple of people -- putting up the two request fics I've completed from 10/23. :D First, for [livejournal.com profile] geno0823, something involving demons or Marxism:
The Accidental Succubus )

And now, for [livejournal.com profile] gigs_83, something starring AL:
The Triumphant Return of One J.C. Jones )

[livejournal.com profile] darkjediprinces, [livejournal.com profile] anivad, and [livejournal.com profile] bttf4444, yours should be coming up soon -- I'm working on them best I can.
Now, time to hunt down some BTTF fanfic and perhaps write more on "You Look Interesting."
-DW: Don't forget, NaNo's coming up.-
I haven't forgotten. That's gonna be a wild ride. . . .
