Finding Dory Day!

crossover_chickPretty good Friday overall, actually -- bus in the morning came right on time, and got me to Providence so early I was able to get in a short walk before starting work at 8. Got everything I needed to get done done and was out the door by 1, catching the 1:15 home. Used the hour between getting back and going off to the movie to get my writing done (I smartly guessed I'd get distracted afterward -- yup, TV Tropes again. What else do you expect from me these days?) -- more exposition has been killed in favor of conversation that gets the point across in a more interesting way. w000~ And then it was off to the movie, with lots of candy and a cherry "Arctic Blast" (aka a slushy) for me. Non-spoilery thoughts: All right -- not as good as the original, but has funny moments and some genuinely touching scenes.
Hank the octopus is great, doubly so if you know real octopi can be just as sneaky as he is (well, not quite, but very close to!). I wish they'd elaborated on his backstory more, though. I also liked Destiny and Bailey -- good times with those two. The climax of the move is what makes it, though, seriously. It is absolutely insanity, and you guys all know my views on absolutely insanity. :D Even if you find the rest of the movie too sappy (as my parents did), you will NOT be disappointed by the climax!
And then it was time for supper at Dunn's Corners, which is always good. Meatball and sausage sub for me -- they cut the sausage a little weird (lengthwise instead of widthwise), but still tasty. And then back home, and a TV Tropes binge on on the movie's page for me, which of course got out of control. What can you do.
Well, in my case, what I'm going to do is catch up on my various stuffs and do a tumblr queue. Finally closed out the TV Tropes tab, and I think the thunderstorm we were apparently having (and that I didn't notice until I went downstairs for a popsicle -- my air conditioner is that loud, apparently) seems to be over, so yeah. Night all!
