I've had colds worse, but it's not particularly fun. . .and I'm starting to get into the "hack up a lung to get rid of mucus" part. Ugh. . .hooray for cough drops, is all I'm saying. Stupid illness. I just want to be better, darn it.
Despite my cold, though, I managed to get some things done (mostly because these things largely consisted of me sitting on my butt):
-->Cleaned my room (okay that's not sitting on my butt, but I just wanted to keep up with it)
-->Watched some OXBox/OXtra videos (about adorable animal companions who deserve our love and respect, and idiotic ways we have killed ourselves in video games respectively)
-->Watched Helloween's last set of Donkey Kong Country 2 -- completing both the main game and the option "Lost World." Both of which were basically done by the skin of his teeth. Particularly the "Lost World" stages -- hard as balls and super unforgiving! And the cheat he used to get enough in-game currency to unlock them apparently took away all his accumulated lives, so he was constantly dodging "game over" during them as well! Poor guy ended up doing an emulator save before the final boss just so he wouldn't have to go through all that pain all over again. *pats him*
-->Played some BioShock 2 -- explored a large chunk of the Pauper's Drop shanty town, scored me a bunch of loot, picked up some new tonics, and got the Research Camera! Yaaaay. Yeah, not the biggest fan of the camera -- at least this one lets you automatically swap to whatever actual weapon you had last when you use it instead of forcing you to de-equip it so you can actually fight back. (In-game reason is that the new camera is actually a video camera, not a still photo camera like the original, so you quickly set it up to film your foes instead of carrying it around in your hands.) But I have enough problems getting jumped by splicers without taking extra damage because I'm carrying around a camera instead of a ready weapon. (I HAAATE the new "five only" limit on Hypos and First Aid Kits. Nine was good, why did we have to change it?!) Still, gotta research splicers to move the plot along. I will say that I appreciate them having alternate lines for when you sequence break -- I got the camera before I was technically "supposed" to get it (because I was exploring the area it's in before triggering the main plot stuff), and Sinclair acknowledged that I already had the camera and that it made life easier. Now it just has to spawn in another Heavy Splicer for me to kill, since I already took care of the original. :p Left myself preparing to take on a Big Daddy so I can rescue my second Little Sister of the level. Eeep, I hope it goes all right. . .
-->Watched the last two sets of Deli's "Vampires" LP -- she never did get Sebastian and Harlow to fall in love. She did manage to "save" the baby she had Elvira kidnap (by transferring her to Sebastian's family via Harlow "dropping it off" there). She also had Harlow move into Vlad's house in an "arranged marriage" (which is slightly creepy as Harlow's a teenager) as a punishment. Series ended with her failing to get around the Draught of Reconfiguration's "two drink options" bug to wipe Harlow's powers. Wasn't supposed to end there -- she was talking having three more parts, where Sebastian and his father would brew vampire-curing potions and cure all the vampires -- but as her playlist is only twelve videos long and I've watched all twelve. . .I'm guessing she lost interest. All right by me -- the LP was interesting, but I don't particularly like how she does them -- trying to force a story, doing too much stuff off-camera, stuff like that. I think I'll stick to James's brand of mild Sim incompetence from now on.
-->Watched a couple of Fun With Shorts -- haven't seen that in a while! The guy who does them, Josh, joined another channel for a while, but now his friends are doing their own thing somewhere else, and he's back on his own. To bring us aggressively 70s shorts about following the rules and having manners. XD Good to have him back -- I like a laugh.
-->Did a little writing on one of my future AU snippets for "As Long As You Love Me," my Dirk Gently-inspired "holistic assassin!Alice and rescued accomplice!Victor" AU -- bit hard to concentrate with the stuffy nose, but I whacked out a page.
-->Did the Valice Multiverse queue -- again, thanks to not feeling that hot, I decided I didn't want to get into too much active RPing. Decent amount of replies and a couple of amusing asks, so that was something at least.
-->Got up "Scenes from Secundus," which is going to be a compilation of all my Secundus shortfic that isn't a drabble or "A Week of Secundus Christmas." Starting off with the Winter Bingo prompts -- specifically, family. Wanted to start on a cute, high note. :)
-->Got somebody I talk to on tumblr to check out Helloween, yay~
Huh -- I did more than I thought today. Granted, like I said, most of it was sitting on my butt watching YouTube, but at least I severely pared down the number of things on my list to watch. Always good, right?
Anyway -- still have a couple of things to answer in the e-mail inbox, so I'd better get on that. And get some more napkins for my nose (ran out of tissues). Hope this damn cold runs its course soon. . .anyway, night all!
