Not As Good A Friday Off As I Was Hoping
Jun. 22nd, 2018 11:25 pmMostly because Mom was stressed out about her job (which is admittedly awful) and getting home in time to get to it while we were out shopping, and that threw me off, and. . .yeah. I hate when that happens -- I've got enough stress in my own life, I don't need to be absorbing other people's. *grumbles* I also had to drive up to the place (which went fine, I just don't particularly enjoy the activity), and on our way back we had some truly scary drivers in front of us (one guy from Connecticut was CONSTANTLY drifting into the oncoming lane -- we fully expected him to hit somebody). So not exactly relaxing. We didn't even get anything for Dad for his birthday. :( There's still time, I just thought that would be one of the main aims of the trip.
I did end up getting what I went out for -- a new pair of work-out shorts (somehow found at TJ Maxx despite all the rest being either tiny or skorts, which I didn't want), and two new sports bras (which I really hope work out despite being -- weird; they're kind of a bra-within-a-bra for support purposes, and they have hooks on the back to fasten them like a regular bra. They FIT me, and they seem okay for working out, but I worry that getting them on and off is going to prove to be a major pain). So that was good. And the weather was nice -- clouded up in the afternoon, but never rained (that's for tomorrow) and stayed in the 70s for the most part, so the drive up was good. And I got a solid walk in during the afternoon, which is also good. Trying very hard to stick to my exercise regimen!
Other good things that happened today:
-->Got about two pages written on "Fixing You" -- Victor and Alice's official wedding! I indulged with a bit of dress description for Alice's wedding gown -- what, I like what I came up with and wanted everyone to know about it. XD But yes, vows are exchanged -- now they just have to sign the marriage license, have their "breakfast" with June, and head Downstairs to wrap this up! :)
-->Watched a "Fun With Shorts" about how trees are okay with being turned into boards but not okay with being burned by stray cigarettes. ...Some conservation shorts they had back in the day were WEIRD.
-->Played some BioShock 2 -- there is actually rather more game than I expected last time! A whole inner sanctum area to the prison, with more goodies to loot and more enemies to kill. Yay! Although my "mission control" character has been taken over by Lamb and is now begging me to kill him. :( The story you get from the audio diaries (and his own admission over the radio) proves this is kind of karma hitting him hard (he was an unscrupulous asshole making bank in Rapture before its fall), but still. I do feel bad for him. :( Hopefully I can make his death quick. . .
-->Watched a RabbidLuigi video about good licensed games (a rare breed indeed), an OXBox video about horrible moments in video games you had to go through in order to proceed (forced to kill friends came up a fair bit), and two more episodes of "Super Sim" (James has decided to try for some of the achievements in the game, and of course the first one he's going for is "killing ten NPC Sims" -- he's built a Death Room in Max's new apartment and trapped a bunch of Sims. XD He's also hired a butler, and gotten Max to level 9 of the Entertainer career -- almost one more career down!)
-->Got my ValiceMultiverse queue settled
Huh. Guess things went better than expected for me. I blame brains liking to latch onto all the little things that go wrong and piss us off instead of the good stuff. *shakehead* Bad brain, bad.
Okay, I do have one more thing to answer in the inbox, so I'd better get to that. Night all, sleep tight!
