Website, Slowly but Surely
Nov. 3rd, 2004 02:58 pmI've gotten back all of my main pages, and I've put up some Sims Photo Albums, a guestbook, and three of my short stories. You do need to know some basic HTML to fiddle with the pages, but that's not a problem for me. This is actually kinda fun.
-VD: So we're up and running?-
Basically. I'm not sure how to link the photo albums to the text in my "It's My Sims" page -- they are appearing in the sidebar, so you can see them. And I'm also running into a few troubles coding links into my story files -- I made a subdirectory for them, and I'm not sure how to make links back to the parent. I found an HTML site, so I'll keep fiddling.
-D: I take it the plan is to get all the short stories up first, then start working on the chapter ones?-
Yup. I'm wondering how to do the stories -- just the way I did it the first time around, or maybe more like
foxywriter and
reality_bites23 do it -- have explanation pages and links to the chapters. I admit, I myself found it annoying to have to go through all the chapters to find the one I wanted. *pats Doc's hand* How are you feeling?
-D: Better. Although I'm experiencing a bit of memory loss.-
Awww, I hope it's nothing serious.
-D: *shakes head* No, I know who all of you are, and where I am, and today's Monday--
Wednesday
-D: Wednesday -- okay, I'm a having a bit of trouble with dates. I know November 5th is coming up, but I can't remember which day. I want to say Saturday.-
Friday. Close though, and you would remember it being on a Saturday.
-D: *smile* Well, I called Jean and she said it would clear up in a day or so.-
Goodie.
*frustrated* Damn it! All I need is one lousy story!
-M: Huh?-
For "Reality Check 2: Double Trouble." I'm writing it now -- I felt in the mood. However, I need a story from a California newspaper for the date May 22nd, 1997. I'm searching the L.A. Times archive, but I'm not coming up with anything. *sigh* Never pick a random date, people. Always pick something you know something happened on.
-J: This is the double sequel, isn't it?-
*nodnod* Ah well, I do have "Three Streets" to fall back on as well. And I guess I could distract myself with listing my stories again. *blush*
