Finally Friday

crossover_chickAnd what a Friday it was -- my entire day at work got thrown off by the processing company suddenly sending me a GIANT FILE of questions from the label file I'd sent them at the end of last month -- mostly those damn duplicates we keep getting. I simply didn't have time to correct the whole thing, so I did some near the beginning of the pages of duplicates and told them how I'd clean the rest of them up, with a promise that I'd use it to fix any similar issues on the actual letter file I'd send later. The new database we're going to supposedly has a way to scan for all these duplicates and maybe clean them up -- I seriously hope so. Anyway, after that was getting the e-mail list that our e-mail guy requested cleaned up so certain people wouldn't get a duplicate e-mail (apparently the text we're using is adapted from a previous e-mail one of our assistant directors sent out). Which I nearly screwed up by forgetting the name of the file I was using and working on an older one for a bit. Fortunately I caught my mistake when the stupid thing wouldn't filter right, and got the correct files edited. Which left just enough time to do the GL and eat my lunch. -.- I have never been gladder to leave my work behind. Granted, I came home to my parents fighting with setting up the new Roku they got for the living room, and promptly started cleaning my room so I wouldn't have to do it Saturday. . .
But the afternoon did actually improve from there. I got my cleaning done, then did a little writing -- since I didn't want to start Chapter 4 of "Fixing You," only to swap right over to "The Technicolor Phase" tomorrow, I partially edited the next bit of my "Holistic Assassin Alice" AU -- hey, might as well, right? I'm planning on posting it on tumblr eventually. Then it was over for a short session of BioShock 2: Minerva's Den before my workout -- found out where my Incinerate 2 was! Turns out I had to leave the icy area and head down an elevator into Exhaust Venting. Also got an audio diary and the last robot vacuum I had to smash there, so I'm happy. :) Back in the turbines, I've picked up a Little Sister (after a tough fight with her Big Daddy) and had my first gather with her. Gotta find the second corpse now and finish that off -- before preparing myself for another Big Sister fight. Eeep. Should be coming up to the end of the DLC now -- gotta hit a Gatherer's Garden to get more slots unlocked and equip stuff before I face off against the boss. Then it'll be time to start BioShock Infinite -- we'll see how different an animal THAT game is!
Worked out after that, and had dinner -- watched some stuff on YouTube via the new Roku. Not much different from watching it on the blu-ray player, though the remote is a LOT easier to use. Mom was trying to get me interested in some of the other channels -- I am kind of intrigued by the apparent MST3K channel, but other than that. . . You guys know me -- my main source of video entertainment these days are YouTube LPs and gaming lists.
Speaking of which, another set of Vampyr today from Helloween -- Reid's established himself in his new hospital digs, managed to stop himself munching on a defenseless dying laborer, and helped another vampire hiding in the hospital by killing the vampire hunters watching her. With a little fail from Helloween -- he first took on those guys when he was a bit too low level, and got shotgunned to death. Fortunately, finding himself a hacksaw and upgrading his bite helped him get revenge. :p It's a very cool game, and I'm enjoying watching him play. There was also a "Fun With Shorts" about -- well, whoever made it REALLY HATES TEABAGS. O.o One of the weirder things I've seen on that channel. And another episode of "Super Sim" -- Max now has a cat, Xam (as per the commenters -- what name do you get if you flip it around? :p), and James is already starting to lose his mind trying to make friends with animals. I'd forgotten that the game will sometimes glitch up regarding interacting with cats and dogs if they're in the middle of another animation -- and James's love of super speed really doesn't help matters. I'm starting to wonder if the long break he's taken from "Super Sim" recently is partly because doing all the pet stuff drove him temporarily mad. :p At least it's funny to watch.
And now I'm just sorta hanging out, reading things on the web! Nice to have a quiet night, where I don't feel obligated to keep checking tumblr every five seconds. I do have one other comment to answer in my inbox, though -- might as well get on that. Supposed to rain tomorrow, so the zoo trip's been pushed to Sunday, which might be nicer. Keep your fingers crossed! Night all!
