Record-Breaking Heat

crossover_chickAt least in Boston -- 97F with a heat index of roughly 105. It was about the same here in RI, though I don't know if we officially broke any records. Just makes me glad I live and work in places with decent air conditioning! At least tomorrow's supposed to be the last really hot day, and then it cools down some for the weekend.
Work was kind of frustrating -- the database switch keeps running into various problems, mainly with credit card gifts. I also had a file to complete that took much longer to edit that I would have liked (mainly because I got pulled into trying to help out with reporting stuff on the new system), and for some reason I got asked about the due date for a file I'd hadn't even HEARD of until I was put on the e-mail chain for it. *sigh* Plus my coworker had to leave early because of family stuff, and my other one is out sick, so. . .just one and a half more days. At least today I managed to get out on time! And traffic seemed a little better going home too -- I dunno if it was just a lighter day, or if that five minutes really DOES make that big of a difference, but eh.
Had my workout, had my supper, and then it was time for posting fics! As usual, I started off with the next bit of "The Technicolor Phase" -- Victoria Red today, about this universe's version of Victor and Victoria's first meeting. And then I moved onto "Fixing You" Chapter 5, available on FF.net and AO3. As promised, Victor has to face down an angry Burtonsville mob. At least I also got to throw in a bit of funny with the Unseen University magazine. Coming up with that line for the Archchancellor in the article was a lot of fun. XD
After that, I felt I'd earned watching Helloween's latest Resident Evil 4 set -- Ada's taken Leon to the island that Ashley's been spirited away to, and Leon's been mowing down loads of gribblers in his quest to finally get her back. Hells's become quite a fair hand at the headshot! He's also become one at tempting fate, choosing not to heal when knocked down to about half health and dying to a monster shortly afterwards. But then he managed to find a treasure he missed the first time around, so it's all good. :) Also watched another Yandere Simulator Myths episode from the Kubz Scouts -- mostly showing off how broken the bully's new routine is when it comes to stalking this one guy. As long as he's made himself over, they'll stalk his club room -- even if he's dead or otherwise not in it. :p Code may need a little tweaking there. . .
After that was updating my VictorLuvsAlice queue and catching up on websites, and now here I am, telling you about my day. Typical evening, really. Now I just have to answer those two last comments in my inbox, and call it a night. The database people aren't going to be on-site anymore tomorrow, but they've promised we can call then whenever -- hopefully that's true. We'll see what happens as the week winds down. For now, night all!
