Again, a bit busier than I was anticipating -- I think I got the most phone calls today that I've gotten all week. Also had the most gifts to put on. But I made it through, and got the reward of getting to go home at three! . . .I promptly spent my free time cleaning my room, but now I don't have to do it on Saturday. So yay there. :p
Weather was absolutely MISERABLE today, though -- rainy, windy, even a bit foggy because it was so warm! The worst part of my commute was getting to the parking lot this afternoon! Which is -- actually pretty lucky, as usual the traffic is utterly miserable on rainy days. I think I lucked out with the early release and people taking the day off because it's so close to Christmas. Hey, I'll take not having to cut through the city. Navigating the latter half of Mineral Spring was quite tricky enough.
Things accomplished today:
-->Watched a truly awful show with dinner -- Nailed It, about bad amateur bakers attempting to imitate professional-quality cakery. You'd think there'd be SOME element of humor in this, but the hosts are incredibly grating, the contestants we saw irritating and grumpy, and the whole thing is just -- a trainwreck. If you see the series around, I advise you to stay away.
-->Got another gift fic taken care of -- not the one I was planning on, but I couldn't find the reference material I was looking for for that one. And the one I did was on my mind too, so. . . Got three more to go, and a weekend to do them over! Brain, don't fail me now. . .
-->Watched the latest OXMas Challenge from OXBox -- Mike had to create a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer character in Soul Caliber 6 (which he succeeded at, with judicious use of an apple head accessory -- don't ask, I don't know either) and then win a fight against a random CPU opponent (which he also succeeded at, INCREDIBLY well too -- beat the computer in all three rounds!). So he's up another point, yay. Final three challenges are upon us! I'm looking forward to it. *rubs hands*
-->Watched another goofy Christmas cartoon short from "Fun With Shorts," featuring an orphanage that gets crappy toys for Christmas and a wandering inventor-type who hears the children crying and completely destroys their kitchen to make them new toys. It was -- weird. Though good for Josh's riffing, that's for damn sure.
-->Watched Helloween's latest Splatterhouse (2010) set -- features more underboob, more grinding up monsters into meaty gore, and more killers wielding chainsaws! (Not us -- well, not us to START.) It's all so over the top you can't help but love it. And the Terror Mask remains a favorite -- had some fantastic breaking the fourth wall moments in this one. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this. Hardly holiday-friendly, but who cares? :D
-->Got my Valice Multiverse queue done for the night -- just the right amounts of asks and threads to fill 'er up without overwhelming me. I approve.
And now it's time to empty out the inbox -- not a particularly involved affair tonight. Though I am kind of pissed off that I spent my lunch break drafting out some replies and reviews -- and then forgot to e-mail myself the document I used. Mostly because learning about the early release was a bit last-minute, and I got caught up in getting my work done. Which, honestly, I SHOULD be prioritizing work at work, and it's not like I lost a TON of replies, but still. I am a bit grumpy about it. Ah well, live and learn. Time to take care of things -- night all!
