More Focused Wednesday
Feb. 20th, 2019 11:17 pmWork tried to be distracting, especially in the morning, but I managed to wrangle all the things competing for my attention and even get some checks on. Worryingly, though, my coworker woke up this morning to a sick husband -- and she herself had to leave around noon because she wasn't feeling well. According to one of the people in the back offices, there's a bug going around. Which means a) I'm worried about getting sick with whatever she or her husband might have, and b) I'm worried I'm going to lose my day off on Friday because if she's ill that'll just leave me up front again. *sigh* I'd really like to tell my boss to hire a fourth person already, but of course I can't do that. . .
Managed to continue the productive trend this evening too:
-->Got up the next part of "The Technicolor Phase," Alice Red! Which almost didn't have any mention of Alice giving Victoria red in it. *facepalm* It's been surprisingly easy at times to forget the whole main conceit of this AU. . .managed to edit in a mention, so we're good. Slowly but surely coming to the wrap-up!
-->Watched the latest episode of "Super Sim Challenge" -- James has redone all the stuff that the crash erased, and actually managed to get Max and Myra to the Romance Festival! Where they ended up mostly celebrating New Year's Eve, as James decided he wanted to actually complete a holiday for once. And THEN he decided to get Myra pregnant with Max's child XD He's gone surprisingly gung-ho for baby making lately, it's weird.
Sadly, this new life had to be paid for with a death -- Opie, Max's dog, passed away from old age. :( Max was sad for all of five minutes, and then immediately became besties with the Grim Reaper and even successfully asked him for a loan. XD And then it was time to complete another acting gig, and then time to rush off to the Starlight Accolades to see if Max would receive an award. It was a nailbiter, as the award ceremony is glitchy at the BEST of times -- but Max did receive an Accolade! For one of his books, according to the pop-up. Of course, he ran into some trouble ACCEPTING the award, since the presenter wouldn't get away from the mike, but James managed to lure him away and complete that milestone. Now Max is literally only three goals away from completing EVERY ASPIRATION IN THE GAME. Wild!
-->. . .At least, until the new Strangerville game pack drops in a week -- just officially announced today. I watched both the trailer and Deli's reaction to said trailer. It's -- weird? I mean, they're obviously calling back to the classic Strangetown of Sims 2, but. . .I dunno. It's not really gelling with me as of yet. Maybe because I want a magic-using game pack so badly, and this looks like more alien stuff. . .weird alien zombie stuff, no less. In something that looks like a twist on a vacation pack. *shrug* I'm sure I'll have reviews and LPs of it to watch on YouTube soon. James and Deli are pretty good in that regard.
-->I also watched Helloween's latest Resident Evil 2 REmake set -- we had a brief run around the sewer facility as Ada, with a special gun that allowed us to see electrical stuff and even turn things on and off from a distance. Used it mainly to activate lifts and explode fans. We also ran into the delightful Mr. X again, and Ada had her teeth punched in. And then nearly got burnt alive in an incinerator. Then got impaled by some spiky horrible metal. I would be more sympathetic if Rufert and Helloween hadn't kindly informed me she's a manipulative ass who uses everyone.
And then it was back to Leon, who unfortunately doesn't know this and wants to rescue her. ...Well, okay, I probably wouldn't leave her to rot in a sewer with a big chunk of metal sticking out of her leg, but still. Ran around some of the sewers avoiding monsters, shooting monsters, and -- after getting ourselves a delightful little flamethrower -- setting monsters on fire. Leon once again got beat up pretty badly (on top of his gunshot wound -- and he's wading through SEWAGE, gah), but at least Hells kept him well-stocked with heals and ammo. Worst first day on the job ever, eh Leo? And it's only going downhill from here. . .
-->Got my VictorLuvsAlice queue sorted MAJORLY -- though I guess it helps that Chapter 15 isn't going to be ready for posting this week and thus I could just immediately make a Friday post (or a reblog, in this instance). AND my friend DarkCountess was nice enough to recommend a song for me for Song Saturday, so I'm good straight through Saturday -- well, mostly. I just put a lyric video in the queue; I still gotta sort out my text. But hey, hooray for staying on top of shit.
So yeah, that's been pretty good times. Still have to empty out my inbox, but that's always the way, isn't it? Let me get on that, and then it's off to bed. And we'll see what happens tomorrow. At least the snow that was supposed to brush up against us never really materialized. . .night all!
