I was hoping for a full-on snowday, as we're supposed to be getting a pretty fair whack of snowy weather (latest report was 6 to 10 inches), and pretty much every school is closing, but my work refuses to budge from an hour and a half delay. *sigh* Well, I guess I'll take what I can get. I can sleep in a little, and it's a quieter morning. Shortens the week a little, at least.

As for today -- well, can't complain. It was a nice Sunday, as Sundays go. Woke up around 10, lounged around in my PJs for a while, had lunch, then set about clearing out my YouTubery:

-->Two "Fact Hunt" videos: one about the strange origins of some video game developers, including Coleco starting out as Conn. Leather Company -- they made leather goods until they accidentally got into the toy business with a "make your own moccasin" kit and just embraced the sudden change; and one about the video games with the longest time spent in development hell -- Guru Larry TRIED to claim this was a game that has been slowly updated over the course of 26 years. . .but Unreal World was first RELEASED two years after it was initially conceived, soooo. . . Still think the title goes to Duke Nukem Forever (14 years!).

-->One Rabbid Luigi video about hard modes that will suck all the joy out of your game: Alien Isolation apparently has a hard mode that makes all enemies tougher and smarter AND makes your tracker unreliable, meaning you're going to get killed a LOT -- RL DID admit this is probably more likely what would happen in that particular scenario, though. DOOM (2016) also got a shout-out for its "Ultra-Nightmare" mode -- everyone is super-tough, you die super-quickly, and YOU HAVE TO START AT THE BEGINNING EVERY TIME YOU DIE. No checkpoints at all. If I ever do play that game, I'll be avoiding that like the plague.

-->Helloween's latest Metro Exodus set, where we actually got back to the plot a bit -- Artyom did a little more exploring and picking up goodies, before getting startled by his buddy Duke, who pointed him toward the terminal he needed to visit. A Tsar-Fish (a super-mutated catfish) was inside, helpfully eating enemies while eyeing us as a fresh snack. Helloween managed (after screwing it up once) to kill it with a handy trap, then claimed the railcar inside the terminal as his own!

And then, choo-chooing his way out, he got killed by one of those electrical anomaly things. XD He reloaded and got past it safely next time, before taking his car into a bandit camp and clearing out all the bandits with his not-stealth. All good fun. XD Now we just have to haul the passenger car they were living in back to our own train. . .

After that, I took a break to play some Sims 4! After first purchasing StrangerVille (despite Origins's best efforts -- seriously, why did it keep redirecting me to the Digital Deluxe upgrade page for the base game?!) because I now want this pack and buying it made me happy after a rough week at work. Haven't visited the titular town yet, though -- instead, it was another work day with Wheatley! I did my best, but he ended the day having misdiagosed someone else. Which, is probably in-character for him, but darn it, I want him to get promoted at SOME point! *sigh* I DID send him and Chell on a successful date to Optimist's Bowl-N-Skate afterward -- not only do my new custom content bathroom stalls work, they actually got to eat! Yeah, their food actually came, unlike Eric's date with Andy! Dunno what happened there, but hey -- I'm glad the place works for SOMEBODY. :) Wheatley's got some vacation time after this, though, plus a few days off, so I'm planning on having them investigate StrangerVille over the next few updates. Hey, super-secret labs are kind of Chell's thing, and having an actual doctor look into the StrangerVille infection is probably a smart idea. :P

Finished that up in time for dinner, then did some work on Chapter 16 of "Fixing You!" Victor and Alice have just discovered the actual source of Victor's issues -- his personal mental image of Thirteen. Who is, basically, a Dollmakerized version of Victor himself. Some unpleasant truths are about to come to light, but fortunately, Alice has a way of dealing with them. Hopefully I can get the polish on this bit just right. . .

Then it was back to YouTube, with:

-->LGR's StrangerVille review: in essence, it's a fun little pack if you like the storyline and can deal with it being short; otherwise maybe skip this one (I'm obviously willing to deal)

-->The Sim Supply's "official" StrangerVille LP, starring Holly Alto from his last "Rags to Riches" LP. She's moved to StrangerVille to solve the mystery of the town and maybe find out what happened to her missing daughter Carol (the toddler that disappeared into the game code when James killed Holly and didn't think about what might happen to the kid who was currently off-lot). So far, she's completed two levels of the aspiration (getting into the second level of the secret lab and discovering the spore-infested hallway), gotten briefly possessed, and lost all her money thanks to James feeling like she was too rich and giving most of it away after getting her set up in her house -- then spending the majority of the remainder on a cool bunker just because he could. XD She's also TECHNICALLY in the military career, but unfortunately James managed to join the career right before what counts as the career's "weekend", meaning we haven't seen her go to work once. Typical James fail LP, is what I'm saying. XD Quite looking forward to the next part!

And then the rest of my time has just been catching up on some comments and getting my Sims pictures for the day ready for my Wednesday update on Tumblr (another four-parter -- didn't expect that!). Gonna wrap up the rest of my comments and then hit the sheets. So far, work tomorrow. . . I guess I'll find out if anything changes in the morning. *shrug* Night all!
