crossover_chick: Victor and Alice together as if they're cuddling (OTP: Victor luvs Alice)

I'm still kind of tickled by the fact that the date I chose for Victor and Alice's wedding in both "Secundus" and "Fixing You" is the same date we ended up closing on our house here. Makes it easy to have an extra treat for the day too! :D Which, in this case, was some more of Dad's birthday cake, which was stored in the freezer. Served with some ice cream too, om nom~ A very worthy slice to have in honor of today. (And we still have some in the freezer for the next few weekends, yay~)

Today was a pretty good day for other reasons too:

-->Weather DID take a turn for the better -- temperatures lingered in the high 70s/low 80s, and the humidity's dropped like a ROCK. MUCH more comfortable today -- got a walk in outside, and didn't need the aircon on at all! Though I'm semi-tempted to turn it on tonight, simply because my room is kinda warm. . . *turns it on to check temperature* Okay, it's saying my room's about 80 now, yeah, I definitely need it. (I blame having my windows open all day -- I let a LOT of sunlight into my room this afternoon! Should probably keep my shades pulled most of the day and only lift 'em around sunset. . .I just like having natural light when I can!)

-->Had sort of a Sims marathon on YouTube! The Sim Supply posted a quick video where he made over Banana R. Bigwallet from his "Rags To Riches Island Edition" LP -- normally, he's not a CAS man, but the real purpose of the video was to promote his pal Deli's CC clothing collection for ladies (done in collaboration with grimcookies) by dressing Banana up in some of the clothes; and to show off Deli's new website! Which he built. XD He was very very proud of it. XD It was a cute little vid, and it's always nice to see him and Deli doing the friend thing. They're pretty adorable together in collabs and suchlike.

The rest of my viddery was spent watching Sims 4 mod reviews from a Simmer called Fantayzia -- specifically, her videos on the "Slice of Life" and "Meaningful Stories" mods. These are mods that have tempted me after seeing them on the "broken/updated mods" list on SimsVIP for Island Living, but I kind of wanted to see them in the wild first before I did anything. I have to say, both of them look pretty cool! I particularly like "Slice of Life" for adding things like turn-ons and turn-offs and talents. :D Plus lots of new moodlets and new NPC invitations (like "hey, we're having a cookout at the park! Wanna come?"), and new things you can do on your phone, and -- it just seems pretty awesome. And I've heard good things about "Meaningful Stories" too, and that seems very well put together. . . I might, once I finish up with Marty and Jennifer's portion of the Newcrest Adventures updates, install these. There's also a groceries mod I'm interested in, and that Fear mod I mentioned earlier in the week (though I'm worried about potential conflicts with the first two. . .ugh, but fear is an emotion Sims SHOULD have. . .), and I know I saw SOMETHING about likes and dislikes somewhere. . .plus arcade cabinets from the same person who made the bathroom stalls I downloaded. (Who adapted them from the person who made the grocery mod I'm now interested in!) After YEARS of keeping mods and custom content to a minimum, suddenly I can't get enough of the darn things! But then again, after five years of Simming, you do want things to mix it up. (Plus, I think I'm starting to notice certain lacks in the game all the more, especially with James playing The Sims 2 and showing off some of the stuff I miss from that. . .)

-->Speaking of Marty and Jennifer and Newcrest Adventures, played them today too! Nothing too exciting -- I had them go on a second date to Orchid A Go Go so they could both actually start fulfilling the "Soulmate" aspiration in the Love category (NONE of my married/coupled Sims have done that yet. I'm kind of embarrassed. ^^;). Doubled as a chance to see a celebrity, though they were more intent on each other. Though Marty took the opportunity to boost his own fame by playing the guitar in there for a while -- and Jennifer maxed her dancing skill dancing to the jukebox. Then it was back home for some sweet domestic stuff with the kids (mainly helping them out with homework). And giving out some makeovers -- both Douglas and Marlene DESPERATELY needed new clothes! I kept running into this weird glitch where changing Marlene's outfit in CAS (and once when I got out of CAS) would occasionally change her hair color, though -- no clue what triggered it. O.o Managed to get it back to black each time, but -- weird. But they're all sorted now, so that's good. :)

-->Writing of the day was on "Secundus 2" -- got a good chunk done on Emily and Victoria preplanning Doc's first date with Clara. XD Doc, nervous about this whole thing, brought up that he's basically twice Clara's age, and who would want to go out with a man old enough to be their father? Cue Victoria raising her hand and sinking that argument quickly. XD Doc will have a couple of others to wrap up the chapter, but they're not going to last long. :P Just admit you like her, Doc, and make this easier on all of us. XD

And I just did a mini-update on Valice Multiverse (wanted to do a quick post about Victor and Alice's anniversary, and figured I could answer the one ask and thread thing I had in the activity), am finishing up with the queue there and about to answer the last thing in my inbox. Back to work tomorrow, meeeeh. . . But at least I can a) leave a bit later and b) I know I have a slightly-shorter week to look forward to. :) Night all!
