Bad Bad Monday
Jun. 29th, 2020 11:26 pmBasically, entire day was thrown off by construction work on the road that I usually use to reach my parking lot -- I couldn't see if there was a place to turn, so ended up having to go straight, pull over for a second to get my bearings, realize I was in a no parking area and thus had to go on, found a road that I could use to turn back around, try to do a loop, realize the loop I was trying was one way and didn't go back far enough, and had to REDO the loop getting back onto the main road, where I could finally see where I could turn (they'd shut down the usual lanes, but turned one of the others into the lane I needed. Ended up being just a little bit late for work, which when combined with the stress. . .well, it was not a good start to the day. And then most of the rest of my work day was me looking for answers for stuff and getting other things foisted on me and having someone come in to redo the work station next to me (wearing a mask, but yeah). . . There was no way I get getting through this day in a good mood, basically.
Afternoon was a little better, at least, after I'd had some time to calm down and get a workout in and all that. (And top up my phone, which I'd MEANT to do this weekend but -- never came to fruition.) I did get a few things sorted:
-->Wrote another chunk on "Londerland Bloodlines," which has Alice taking up the Slashterpiece quest from Jeannette. She's not planning on doing it until later in the evening, though, which means we're moving onto to the Lily and Kilpatrick stuff! Yay side quests, w0000~
-->Caught up with Linkara with "Dan Dare: Voyage to Venus," a Patreon two-parter about a classic 50s and 60s sci-fi action hero visiting Venus to see about its suitability for growing extra food for Earth (there's food shortages, you see), and getting embroiled in the enmity that the two native species have for each other. Fun, pulpy actiony stuff -- even if there was more than a hint of standard 50s racism and sexism and all that. Still, nice to have decent comics on the show!
-->Got my pictures for Newcrest Adventures sorted -- 35 in the end, so three full updates on tumblr and one half-one. Doing the initial "quickly get the pictures up with a leading sentence" posts so they're ready for proper queueing later on.
And now I just need to post my comments and hit the sheets -- I was kind of late getting to bed the other night, and I'm pretty damn tired now. Tomorrow -- well, hoping I have a better ride in, for starters. Also need to get gas, make muffins, do queues. . .it's gonna be a busy Tuesday, and that's not even counting work. *sigh* Just gotta remember, summer hours, automatically a short week, long weekend coming up. . . Night all!
