Better Friday At Least
Jul. 24th, 2020 11:34 pmPossibly only because SHORTER Friday, but I managed to keep away from anyone who wasn't doing the right thing, got a bunch of checks and some stock gifts on, had a pretty quiet lunch, and managed not to have any panic attacks. Or start crying again. Go me. *sighs* I'll be glad when my hormones settle down again and I'm back to my usual level of anxiety and paranoia.
Anyway, got through the work portion of the day, then came home and -- well, mostly vegged, really. Period has sapped most of my creative energies. But I did:
-->Help Mom out with the laundry -- and with finding a new shirt of hers in the laundry (she couldn't figure out where the hell she'd put it; turned out she'd washed it and just hadn't noticed it in the basket)
-->Finally buy Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle -- I've had a rough couple of weeks and the game was on sale for 25% off, so I got it for ten bucks less than normal! I checked that mods were compatible, then played through my "test save" a couple of times (once with mods disabled, once with them enabled) to get a feel for the updated game. Played one of the families in Evergreen Harbor to come to grips with Neighborhood Action Plans and whatnot, and then did a bit with the old version of Geeker in Oasis Springs to look at some of the new objects and lot traits! I really want to experiment with Off the Grid and "rags to riches" scenarios now. . .gotta finish the current cycle of "Newcrest Adventures" first, though! Though I'm sure I can work some of this new stuff into my current game. . .
-->Watch some Sims-related YouTube, natch:
A) A short video from onlyabidoang regarding a recent mini-patch to the game and what it brought: First, a few bug fixes, like windows not rendering properly and certain toddler hairs clipping through hats – also, Sims will get a burning toilet only when it's appropriate (like if they're angry or have just eaten spicy food), not just randomly XD And second, we now have nameable cowplants (inspired by LilSimsie), and an even smaller variation of the Subtle Saucer Light (which I'm pretty sure was inspired at least partly by James Turner and his constant use of it sized down all to hell). Look, as long as my mods still work, I'm happy.
B) The next part of "Rags to Redevelopment" – turns out all Ambrose had to do to get that Electronic Upgrade Part recipe was brag about his handiness before enthusing about fabrication. Two episodes of nothing, then we get the recipe in the first three minutes of this one. XD But that's Sims 4 for you! Most of the rest of the episode was building up the container mansion (there's now a whole second story, complete with a courtyard, and a third story diagonal container that doesn't have anything in it at the moment because James ran out of money), trying to get ripped (Ambrose now has a weights machine, so this is actually an achievable goal!), and trying to get the Modern Development N.A.P. repealed so he can put back Roughhousing Encouraged (he, uh, waited until too late and then couldn't actually get any of the signatures he gathered to count, I suspect because the people he was asking didn't actually LIVE in Grim's Quarry with him. Meh). Well, some progress was made, and that's the important thing! XD Now he just has to update that kitchen of his. . . Oh, and yes, James noticed the new smaller saucer lights and was very pleased. XD All for you, buddy!
C) And a Plumbella video featuring the parents! Mambella and Dadbella recreated Jesse herself in Sims 4, and honestly did a pretty good job of it! A bit of argument about what she would wear (Dad didn't think she'd wear a midriff-exposing top – until Jesse lifted her sweater), but they gave it a true, solid go (while calling their daughter beautiful, awww). . .
And then they got into Live Mode, and noticed that Jesse had left Wicked Whims installed. Cue them ditching their virtual daughter so their virtual selves could have Le Sex. XD And then they CALLED JESSE IN to see what was happening. XD Plumbella promptly claimed to be traumatized, poor thing. XD This is why you don't leave them alone with the game, Jesse!
-->. . .ended up too distracted to write, honestly, so I decided not to force it. I did, however, at least set up the document for "In A World Of His Own," with the plot outline I recently found and reblogged on my Victor Luvs Alice tumblr. Prepwork counts for something!
-->And I just recently finished up answering questions and setting up my queue over at Valice Multiverse, along with chatting with a friend over there (she needed to tell me Roddy the rat from Flushed Away looks like Victor, which -- upon looking at pictures of Roddy, they DO have about the same hair style! Combine that with his suit from the beginning of the movie, and. . .)
So yeah, that's been about my day, really. I'll take this over crying over stress and fear, anyway. Oh, and my Friday off next week was approved, so that's good. A proper long weekend with extra sleeping in is definitely what I need.
As it stands right now, though. . .gotta answer the comments still left on Dreamwidth, then I guess we'll see if Friday Night Writing Thing happens. (Dunno if I have the energy to really give it go, but. . .) Tomorrow is a cleaning Saturday (and Mom intends to clean the house, so it's REALLY going to be a cleaning Saturday), though I hope to play a little more Fallout 4 and test out another mod or two, and either watch more Kevin and Gray, or catch up on the three-part "Secret Empire" AT4W episode in my Watch Later. O.o I mean, I guess I shouldn't be surprised Linkara had a lot to say about this, but damn. Well, probably a good thing for me to have something long to watch while I've got the period brain. . .
Anyway. Comments. Night all!
