And a quiet one it was -- though we weren't planning on doing anything for trick-or-treaters anyway, seems the parents kept them all home this year. Good -- between the snow yesterday, the chill today, and the pandemic that's been raging all this year, that was the smartest plan. So nothing to worry about on that front, at least! Though I did celebrate in a few small ways:

-->Wore my old Aperture Science jumpsuit and long fall boot socks -- hey, it's the costume that's the best-suited for just hanging around the house (especially on a chillier day), and pretty simple to manage. No pictures, sadly, but it is a repeat costume. Maybe another time.

-->Watched/listened to a bunch of Halloween-related YouTubery:

A) Listened to a bunch of my favorite Halloween songs while changing the sheets on my bed -- though it occurs to me I haven't listened to the song I reblog on my main tumblr every year, the Flyleaf cover of "What's This?" Should do that shortly!

B) After lunch (and more time with the puzzle; it's shocking, how easily I'm sucked into those), watched the Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines Hallowstream from Outside XBox! Jane and Mike were introducing Andy to the game, with Jane doing the actual playing – Ventrue character who, amusingly, was quite good at seduction. XD They did most of the early plot-important Santa Monica stuff to show off the Ocean House Hotel level, then ditched the Voermans after giving Therese the goods from that in order to do the Stanley Gimble mission. Highlights from the stream included:

1. Jane accidentally coining the term "sexsuasion" to describe her character, Liv's, seduction skills (Andy insisted she always take that option when she could) – to her own horror, it was happily picked up by the chat, and was soon joined by the word "sexterity" (as she was debating at one point leveling up Dexterity)

2. Andy declaring that their character must drain the moon at some point (starting another new hashtag), with later discussion of the whole "Moon's Wet" thing (yes, water on the moon) and how they would really appreciate it if NASA would send them moon water to try

3. Jane saving Heather via ghouling her, and then telling her that she's a vampire – causing Heather to scream for security, who come in guns blazing, forcing Jane to flee and everyone to start complaining about how that was something of an overreaction!

4. Similarly, Jane accidentally attempting to pick the front doors of the Gallery Noir when she gets sent on THAT mission, getting a criminal violation, and having to hide from the police in the sewers

5. On a personal level, seeing some dialogue I haven't seen before (or not in a long time – my Malkavian playthrough is a lot more recent than my Gangrel one, so I remember that dialogue better), and realizing that I'm pretty sure the Ventrue characters give the bum who asks you for money outside the apartment a LOT less than the other clans – I recall my Malkavian giving him ten bucks, while Liv the Ventrue handed over ONE. XD

6. The delightful end to the stream with Stanley Gimble – Jane, upon finding she could manipulate the chairs in Gimble's waiting room, took one with her as they descended into the basement as her "safety chair." And just for a lark, she put it in front of the door Gimble comes through for his boss fight, to "block him in" – and that's exactly what it did. Gimble just couldn't open the door to get through with the chair in front! XD They had to move it so they could have the fight, because the game wouldn't progress otherwise – but I think that's a neat trick to keep in mind if you're a guns-focused character. Block the door JUST enough so that it can open just a little, then fire on Stanley every time you can see him. Pain-free boss fight!

7. Also, they then did a joke cover of "Love Shack" called "Blood Pack" right before signing off XD

Yes, anyway, it was a very fun two hours and thirteen minutes. :D Oh, and got some good news while I was watching too – Hitman 3 is going to be a thing, and have a Sherlock Holmes level! So that'll be AWESOME. :D

B) Then it was onto Linkara to finish up Ashock The Fourth Wall's Pinhead-related comics and the Halloween storyline:

1. The latter half of the time-traveling Pinhead series, where we end up going through the times of the Ancient Mayans and Sumerians before ending up in caveman times (and yes, each has a past Pinhead, with increasingly ridiculous "pins" in his head – the last one has just bits of bone sticking out (in?)), where we finally see that the villain's plan is to – release a bunch of souls being tortured in Hell, as they themselves are kind of part of those souls. Because this is a Hellraiser comic, though, obviously Pinhead has to win, so the release of the souls is canceled, the villain is shot to pieces, and Pinhead returns to the present triumphant. An interesting if depressing story. . . In the storyline, Linkara complains MIGHTILY over a random creepy box showing up in his room, which Linksano theorizes is the result of the ion storm currently whacking hypertime around the Contest of Champions main arena. And Linkara makes the mistake of getting close to it, where he finds himself tormented by some sort of mysterious shadow being with violet eyes saying they'll have all eternity to watch him bleed. . .

2. And then we had Pinhead Vs Marshall Law, which was – well, it was terrible. Horrible artwork, offensive story, the work. Marshall Law is supposed to be one of those gritty deconstructions of superheroes, but he's just some asshole who wears Nazi-inspired uniforms and kills other superheroes for going rogue, and mocks the superheroes who don't as "too idealistic." And Pinhead is FAR from his best, being a stretchy cartoon showing way too much emotion (Linkara quipped during the review that he thought the writers really wanted to do Freddy vs Marshall, and I'm not sure he's off the mark). It's a terrible story, and a sad end to the Hellraiser years. And in the storyline, we found out the mysterious shadow being is something named "Confession," who apparently wants Linkara to tell him all – and will result to depriving him of air and a little light mind-rape to get what he wants. You know a storyline is serious when an episode ends with Linkara apparently bleeding from the eyes. . .

-->Watched Young Frankenstein and Dracula: Dead and Loving It with supper and dessert -- both classic Mel Brooks movies that we quite enjoy. A lot of laughs gotten out of both, and it was nice to be able to watch a Halloween movie without interruptions, I gotta say. :p

So yeah, that was all good. Only regret is that I probably will not be able to fit in any significant writing on "Londerland Bloodlines," but I'll at least try to get my notes in order for the next chapter, which will clear out the Santa Monica stuff. That'll have to count for SOMETHING! Start afresh tomorrow. . .

Anyway -- currently catching up on what I've missed, spending most of my time either on YouTube or in the living room, doing a few things over on Valice Multiverse. Tomorrow the plan is to catch up on some of the other videos waiting on YouTube, play some Fallout 4 -- though I may be going back to an older save to see if I can complete the USS Constitution quest, instead of continuing my new save. Feels like I should save the new one for when my new computer arrives! Also, have to do some PROPER writing again -- especially since I have a gift fic coming up! Maybe I'll work on that, in fact. . . At any rate, plenty of catching up to do, which honestly only feels appropriate for "fall back." Yeah, remember, clocks go back tonight! I'll be changing my alarm clock in a little bit. . .

But yeah, time to start the long process of catching up with all the things. Night all! Hope you had a happy and safe Halloween!

Have you heard of "Vampire The Masquerade - Coteries of New York"? Maven of the Eventide is doing a playthrough, and it went on sale on Steam so I snagged it for 50% off plus tax ($10.65). I haven't played it, nor have I finished VtMB yet. Too much stuff I wanted came out at once, lol.

BTW, Shada was a unicorn for Halloween. Pics in my journal.

At 25 (*runs it through a conversion calculator* 73) there's very little he's impressed by, hahah. He's old, but a lot of the time he still acts like he did when I got him at 9 (*runs that through a conversion calculator* 33). He'll take off running if we have to catch up to a trail and we're alone.
