crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)

Only got a few whiffs of the cold outside, fortunately -- supposed to get down into single digits tonight! O.o And then we have the fun of a snowstorm coming in Monday. . .it looks like we're on the lesser edge of it, but depending on where it tracks. . . I just hope they let us out early again on Monday. Little earlier than they did last Tuesday, anyway!

But yeah, been keeping busy all day, as my to-do list will attest to!

1. Clean my room and do the monthly laundry dump (sheets, blankets, bathrobe, pajamas): Check! Took most of the day, especially as Mom was also doing laundry and I helped her a bit with that along with my own stuff, along with the break for lunch and whatnot, but at least it’s all done!

2. Finish cleaning up tags for my Valice Multiverse verses document and get it up and publicly available on my RP blog: Check in progress – I finished the tag clean-up and I have it in a Google Doc for further editing and whatnot, but I’m still working on making it all look good. Fortunately it’s fairly quiet on the tumblrs tonight, so I’m gonna get it into a decent form and then stick a link to it in my queue for tomorrow on Valice Multiverse – making it fancier can be an ongoing project, I just want the document itself available!

3. Keep up on YouTube Subscriptions and try to get at least the latest Sims-related videos out of my Watch Later: Check! Got quite a lot watched this evening –

A) First up, I saw this guy suddenly pop up again in my Recommended the other day, and realized I’d missed out on a few of his videos – onlyabidoang! I haven’t caught up on everything he’s posted, but I did slap these into my Watch Later for today:

1. “The Sims Community in a Nutshell” – a quick little video on how the community is mostly really sweet and supportive (sharing awesome builds, cool CAS creations, neat custom content, and funny memes) – but the moment you ask which of the four main titles is the best. . . I was totally expecting a Sim from EA to show up extolling the latest expansion and getting cold dead silence from the community, admittedly, but this works too. XD (Though I’m pretty sure the question has been reduced down to “is Sims 2 or Sims 3 the best?” at this point. . .)

2. “The Sims 4 Snowy Escape: 10 NEW FEATURES You Might Not Know” – yeah, shows how behind I am, huh? But I was curious to see if he knew anything about the pack I hadn’t heard about yet. And there were a few things! Namely, I didn’t know it takes multiple tries to be killed by vending machine (your Sim has to stack up uncomfortable moodlets related to being injured); that top-level skiers have the option to teach skiing classes (for variable amounts of money), and snowboarders can record POV videos to put up on SimsTube; that Salarymen do get some pretty nice benefits with their job; and that those with the “Frequent Traveler” Lifestyle can ask Sims about their Home Region – and even get cool pop-ups detailing some of the features of each world (except Batuu (no option) and Magnolia Promenade (nothing to actually fucking do there))! So that was all pretty nice. :)

3. “The Sims Comments Logic (PART 6)” – another episode of OnlyAbi’s infrequent spin-off of his “Sims Logic” series where he acts out weird shit other people’s Sims have done in his own games (typically Sims 4, but some in Sims 3). XD This one started off with a fun little sketch about why it took him so long to get this part out (his Sim-self was in jail after testing out a “what happens if a Sim having woohoo becomes a toddler” comment), and then had the usual silliness. Best parts was him snarking on a comment claiming the commenter’s Sim washed a dish in the KITCHEN sink (Sims naturally gravitate toward bathroom sinks for this, no idea why), and someone claiming that OnlyAbi uses his running “bang it with a hammer” gag (for how Sims fix things) in his medical training (as he’s studying to be a doctor!). XD Also Abi’s Sim was in a banana costume most of the video, because reasons. XD

B) Then, added to the Watch Later list today, another Plumbella building video – this one a treehouse! She found herself a “random build generator” over on Simsation Nation and got herself a yellow treehouse, for three Sims, built on a budget of 40K, with an office, in Glimmerbrook. She proceeded to go to Glimmerbrook, spawn a bunch of extra forest by accident, then design a pretty interesting tiny house with a big old tree in the middle and a kitchen wrapping around it, two bedrooms separated from the main living area with curtains, a bathroom over a bridge with tub AND shower, and a desk shoved in a corner for the “office.” XD Also I have no idea what the budget actually was. But she had a lot of fun putting in lots of big open windows and painting everything yellow and making it work around her tree, so I’m not going to be the one to spoil it. XD

C) Over in the Subscriptions, we had Call Me Kevin – playing Sims 4! So it’s been a very Sims day even without me playing it. XD Naturally, he’s gotten his hands on the Paranormal Stuff pack. Naturally, Jim Pickens is using it to torment ghosts. XD Yes, Kevin got him and Turg off the peak of Mt. Komorebi and moved them into a haunted house in Forgotten Hollow, under the pretense that it’s a country home left to Jim by a great-great-great (x a million) uncle. Jim did pretty much constant seances, building up his Medium skill, summoning ghosts and specters, and turning into a ghost himself to woohoo an elderly member of his club, The Tunnel Snakes, who dropped by. XD Turg, meanwhile, spent most of the episode sleeping outside like a homeless person, except for one date with Bonehilda that only got a Bronze because she was more interested in fishing. Our heroes, ladies and gentlemen! XD And Kevin’s already talking about doing Paranormal Investigator career too, which should be fun – can Jim make a house MORE haunted? XD

D) And then it was time for GrayStillPlays to break the streak with more GTA V stunt races instead. Ah well, it’s not like I mind watching him go mad attempting more wall rides. . . Another single-board run, featuring a track that contains horrific wall rides – including multiple tiny walls, and one where he had to transfer from one to the other while having almost no area to land on. Poor guy sounded like he wanted to cry as he was trying to get the pattern down. And then he got it, only to skid out on a later climb that went wrong. Actually, “gets part of it down pat and then skids out on another wall right afterward” was basically the theme of the board. XD I swear to God the guy somehow fit a Mobius strip in there at one point. Gray of course completed it, but I would like to remind you that this extreme masochist owns at least two swords. . .

4. Play Untitled Goose Game and attempt more of the "to-do (quickly!)" challenges: Check – and look at me being awesome, I completed two of them! I watched some videos of the “quickly!” challenges last night before bed, and tried my best to follow the advice within while playing today – got the “High Street, Quickly” achievement pretty easily, and the “Garden, Quickly” achievement after quite a lot of hard work. XD What can I say, it was difficult to keep that gardener off my feathery tail! My winning strategy ended up involving turning on the sprinkler as a distraction as I snuck in the side hole to the garden, then stealing a pumpkin – even if he spotted me, he’d get distracted by getting wet (fulfilling that goal), then I could hide the pumpkin until he was sufficiently distracted by other shenanigans and I could get it to the picnic blanket. Also I took the long way around to get the rake in the lake, as it’s easier to avoid him that way. I also made an attempt at the “Back Gardens, Quickly” – came pretty close, actually! Just missed getting dressed up with a ribbon because that goose statue was a bitch to move! But I definitely think I could manage that one on a subsequent attempt.

5. Answer my friend's FF.net PM: Check! Did that after dinner, yay~

w000, fully completed! Look at me go -- and on the rag and everything. XD Of course, like I said, one of the items is a check "in progress," and I do still owe a comment over here, so let me get back to finishing up the initial formatting of this document so I can do stuff with it. To-do list for tomorrow:

1. Watch the three OXBox/OXtra videos in my Watch Later, Call Me Kevin, and Jon's Fallout 4 YOLO episode

2. EITHER figure out what I'm doing with Fallout 4 (basically, does the fucked-up modded situation require a reinstall) OR just try to finish Untitled Goose Game (complete the other two "quickly!" lists)

3. Get in a workout

4. Write something for this week's Wednesday Sims-themed post on Victor Luvs Alice (I'm thinking some ideas for my VTMB and FO4-themed challenges there)

5. OPTIONAL -- start designing Valicetines for this year

I think these should all be doable. . .we'll see how it all hammers out in the end! As it stands, I'm back to poking at that doc. . .night all!
