crossover_chick: gif of Doc gasping (BTTF: EEK)

Mostly because my boss wanted to talk about a project related to credit cards, which led to a half-hour conversation, which led to me not eating my sandwich until almost 1. . .I am not a pleasant Vicky when I'm hungry. >.< And especially when I'm PMSing. Didn't help that the project involves potentially making a lot of phone calls, which neither me nor my coworkers are keen on. . .and combined with me trying to keep on top of a lot of other issues. . .it's not good times, it really isn't. *heavy sigh* And did I mention I slept like shit last night? Despite going to bed super-tired? And that I had to deal with a pretty shit commute home? Ooooh boy. . .I thought nothing could save this day --

And then Mom revealed that she had finagled a free trial of Discovery Plus right before supper. And we watched the first episode of Expedition: Back To The Future together.

I don't think I've laughed quite that hard in a while. XD Oh man, it's such a fun miniseries! The opening premise, the traveling around Beverly Hills and Hollywood, the discussion of the movie and the DeLoreans, the cameos from other actors. . .oh, but it's Christopher Lloyd who makes this thing. I don't know who suggested "chaotic goblin" for his characterization, but it's amazing. XD Suggesting they steal a bunch of BTTF memorabilia from the Hollywood Museum to sell on eBay. . . XD And the look at the cars is great too -- you've got the classic restored A car, the 1885 DeLorean. . .and next episode promises even more! Oh, I'm so looking forward to "Josh and Chris Take Massachusetts." XD

Yeah, that definitely brightened up my day -- and made it a lot easier to get through the to-do list --

1. Get in a workout: Check! More time on the bike, more time with Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! Caught back up with Grills as he continued clearing out the power plant – just a few more ghouls, really, with another Legendary Charred near the top – nothing good on it, though. He made it to the roof without much issue, hit the big red button, and – in a burst of fireworks – power was restored! Pretty impressive, though Jon said it’s a lot more impressive if you do it at night, like with Bacon. Still looked decent on the cloudy day, though.

And then Jon tried to take a shortcut down and found himself on a ledge just too high to survive a drop from and no convenient pipes he could hop down. Fortunately there was a tree nearby – he managed to fling himself onto it and drop down without killing himself. XD Now THAT would have been embarrassing! And then on the way back he found a bunch of straggler raiders fighting a bunch of Super Mutants, with the final survivors being a Legendary Disciple against an Overlord. The Legendary managed to win despite being repeatedly hit with a sledgehammer – Grills sniped him off, then checked his loot. . .only to find a Safecracker’s (makes the already-not-that-hard lockpick minigame easier) Leather Left Arm. Talk about your useless legendaries. . . Grills left it behind and headed back to Nuka-World –

And then promptly headed right back out, as Jon had something special to show us! The most important building in the Fallout universe, worth battling random roving packs of raiders and Gunners to reach – Wixton’s Shovel Museum! XD Oh, I knew he was trolling us when he started hyping it up that much, but damn. XD Very fun, though – all the various plaques on the wall are readable, and if you like shovels, you can pick up a few here. Jon considers them not good value for the weight, however, and left them behind after reading about the British Shovel-Fighters and the person who followed Napoleon’s horse around during parades. XD

After that (and escaping some more Gunners), and a stop at the DLC’s only settlement (the Nuka-World Red Rocket – good-sized settlement, but it’s only properly available when the power’s restored. There goes my idea to try and cheese “Open Season” by using the “We Are The Minutemen” mod to craft a Minuteman army there), it was time for a rather sadder detour into Bradburton, the “company town” on the outskirts of the theme park. Jon avoided going into the actual town, instead skirting the edges until he spotted a particular broken-down house, with the corpse of a ghoul inside. A ghoul named Rachel, who left a holotape nearby. A holotape intended for her boyfriend, Oswald the Outrageous, a Glowing One who considers the feral ghouls infesting the Kiddie Kingdom his “friends” and thinks they can be cured. Rachel went looking for a cure, and sadly not only didn’t find one – she started going feral herself. She killed herself rather than attack everyone around her. :( I left right after Grills listened to the tape, but I know what he’s going to use it for – a more peaceful end to clearing out that land.

2. Work some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! Got another page out of Alice finding the keycard in the chop shop, heading back outside – and promptly getting riddled with gunfire from a couple more Sabbat Kindred. Fortunately Jack is there to dispatch them before she ends up too badly hurt, but her shirt definitely isn’t coming back from that one. The Symbolic Destruction Of Alice’s Mortal Life continues. :p

3. Keep up on YouTube Subscriptions: Check – it’s Thursday, so this is the Easy One. XD Though of course, I threw in a couple of extra videos for fun –

A) Our one Sub video of the day was Call Me Kevin and Silent Hill 2! The “Enhanced Edition,” no less – apparently it’s a fan upgrade of the graphics and whatnot. The dialogue remains as awkward as ever, though. XD You know a game is going to be good for the channel when it takes Kevin a while to figure out how to WALK in it. XD And, naturally, a lot of the spooks are taken out of it while Kevin’s in control – from rating fences (apparently his dad’s a carpenter, so he knows his fences), to laughing at the awkward dialogue, to randomly circling enemies while trying to figure out combat, to admitting he’d brave Silent Hill for a pint at this point because he misses pubs, to getting into the apartment complex and wondering if he should try to become the new maintenance man, to threatening bratty children, to encountering Pyramid Head doing – “aerobics” with the leg monsters. XD And he thinks the game is fun, so we’re pretty much guaranteed more episodes, yay! :D

B) And then, in bonus content, we had another Plumbella speed build in Sims 4 – a retirement home! Which apparently is also a front for the mob and money-laundering, and one of the residents is in love with the head of the mafia and keeps trying to give her woodworks, which she keeps chucking. XD It was a very nice, upscale build – “where Tories go to die,” as Plumbella termed it. XD And, as usual for her, she spent most of the build just discussing her life in general – her semi-disastrous decision to cut her own hair live on camera (trying to give herself a fringe), her insecurities about her forehead (thank you brother Joseph), her special interests (getting into Snapey again), and her hopes for future content (she already has three channels – Sims-and-similar-games focused, a streams archive, and a variety channel, and she’s hoping to eventually add a podcast channel). Very stream of consciousness, but hey – I relate. XD

C) Then, just for funsies, another Epic Nate video about Fallout 4 – number eight in his “10 Tiny Details You May Have Missed” series, apparently. From shoutouts to other games (notably Bethesda’s own “The Elder Scrolls” series), to Simpsons references (the “Holy Rollers” bowling team in Beaver Creek Lanes), to raider conversations you might not hear if you go in the “right” way (sneak around the back of the Hardware Town ambush, and you’ll hear one raider annoy another into shooting him), there’s a lot of little things to enjoy in the game. :) You know, if you can actually play it. *rolls eyes*

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – obviously, Victor Luvs Alice is all set, and Valice Multiverse only had a couple of asks in it, so that was nice and low-key.

So yeah, at least that's all sorted now. I just have to answer my final comment, then hit the sheets and hope it doesn't take me absolutely forever to actually get to sleep. One more day. . .that's supposed to start with snow. >.< Lousy March weather -- it had better not be much, I swear! Ugh. . . Night all!

I watched through the app on my phone and I don't think I had any buffering.
