Happy Birthday Victor!

And Marty too, though I didn't do much on the BTTF side of things, I confess. Sorry, buddy, but my favorite noodleboy kind of owns my heart now. ^^; But yeah, wore my Victor necklace to work, my Corpse Bride shirt post-work, watched some stuff, read some fanfic. . .did my silly toys photo with Victor Plush, Alice Dolly, and a slice of banana cake enhanced with a light sprinkling of chocolate chips. :) Decent enough celebration, especially for a (slightly shorter) workday!
In other news:
Work – Quieter than yesterday, which I appreciated while on my period (yeah, that showed up first thing this morning). Took a few calls about credit card stuff, did a few obits, mostly things like that. If the final couple of days of this week could continue in that vein, I’d be happy.
Also, I'm being driven into work for the next few days because the car's now officially at the shop, waiting for the insurance adjuster and the final verdict. We're all hoping that's "can be repaired" and not "frame's bent so it has to be totaled and I'll need to buy my own car." *sigh* Damn accident. . .keep having to remind myself that it could have been worse!
Beanbags – Again, no, too hot and muggy. Really hoping the temperature is supposed to break tomorrow – this is getting a bit old!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check! On the bike and – just like on Alice’s birthday – watched some Corpse Bride content! Specifically, watched a video that’s popped up a few times when I searched the term, of someone (young black girl) watching the movie and reacting to it. And, happily, it was a very fun video! It was cool to see someone new to the film going like “that’s Johnny Depp?” when hearing Victor speak for the first time and figuring out the plot (she put together the dots with Barkis and Emily during his speech to become Victoria’s replacement husband – “tragedy snatched my young bride away”). I especially liked how she put the Crier’s announcement about Victor’s rehearsal fuckups to a fake “breaking news” alert. XD Good stuff. Rounded it out with a music video using CB clips. :) So that’s all well and good!
2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check – after a stop at her apartment to drop off the Astrolite and grab a jacket to cover the bullet holes in her shirt, Alice has stopped by the clinic and discovered that no, they won’t just sell to a random woman off the street – but the nurse is willing to direct her to someone who does, Trip! Mostly because she thinks Alice is asking for Carson, the missing bail bondsman, who apparently ALSO doesn’t like getting proper medical care. XD Hey, whatever gets Mercurio his morphine! Before she goes to grab her pills, though, Alice needs to feed – and lookie here, there’s a convenient pee man (otherwise known as Mark Bremerkamp in this universe) in the alley beside The Asylum. . .
Bonus – finally came up with a minor magical ability for Victor in the possibly-You-Belong-To-Me hypnokink verse – a short-range teleport! I was trying to figure out stuff that might work for Victor, and realized something that allowed him to get away faster from others totally fit with his constantly running away from Emily and spending most of the duel at the end dodging Barkis. . .and then realized “Oh my God I could give him the ‘real-life’ version of Alice’s butterfly dodge.” XD So yeah, he now has “Quickstep,” and thanks to Emily’s exit and Alice’s Wonderland, he employs it with a visual effect of blue butterflies. Love it. XD
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – bit late getting to YouTube today with my workout, shower, and getting the picture, but luckily I only had two things to worry about there –
A) Started with Call Me Kevin, having moved his Minecraft up to the Beta, v1.8! The game now has a food system to restore health, new environments (which are kind of glitchy because of the upgrade in versions, but it leads to some interesting scenery – very sheer cliffs, for example, and a cube jutting out of the ocean), and a baby Nether that doesn’t have a heck of a lot in it beyond glowstone and whatnot. Kevin’s version of Steve even has a bed now because the crafting recipe he knows works! :D Kevin spent most of the episode just exploring the upgraded worldspace, killing herds of cows, delving deep into a cave to pick up diamond and redstone and dumping buckets of lava on top of enemies, then taking a quick trip to the Nether to steal all their supplies. He’s up for advancing the version number for the next episode (he’s thinking of doing it by year, since Beta 1.8 came out a year after the Alpha version), and he wants to build himself an evil lair in the ocean cube. I’m all for it!
B) And then it was onto GrayStillPlays, also in Minecraft but for more nefarious purposes. >D Today’s horrible experiment? Killing creatures and ripping organs out of them to use on his own body to give himself superpowers. Such as a pig’s stomach to smash apart the landscape around him with one jump. A skeleton skull to improve his archery. A rabbit’s foot to jump super-high. A Creeper heart to leave TNT EVERYWHERE. And he could have up to four organs combined on him at a time, sooo. . .yeah, nobody was having a good time in his world today. XD Mostly because he got a Blaze stomach and thus was constantly on fire himself (to the point where he had to STOP THE ANIMATION because it was getting in the way). Poor Ender Dragon, she suffered so under the onslaught of TNT. . .
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: N/A today, beyond resetting the queue to one again post-Sims updates. Back to work on that tomorrow, though! Gotta think of what I want to do for Song Saturday. . .
Guess it wasn't too bad of a day. Even with the appearance of the red curse this morning. *grumbles* At least I didn't get blood all over myself when I woke up this morning. . .just gonna be a bit of a pain in the ass tomorrow. Only full workday this week and it's on the heaviest day of my period, bleeeeh. . . What can you do. Night all!
