crossover_chick: Alice (Wonderland) looking kind of confused (AMA: WTFery?)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
The morning was a gray and drizzly thing, with a few periods of rain, but the afternoon actually turned out -- halfway decent? Not too humid, sun out, decently warm? I am as confused as the rest of you, honestly. :p I mean, apparently we're due more rain tomorrow night (and possible thunderstorms, of COURSE), but -- things are still supposed to be relatively decent after that? I don't know how to respond to this. Weather good? LIES~

Anyway, had a fairly decent day, as you shall see below:

Work – More quiet time – some idiocy with the credit card company in the morning, and a few calls in the afternoon, but other than that, it was mostly back to removing duplicates and dead people. Welp, that is the theme of July, it seems. . .

Beanbags – Amazingly, with the weather not being totally shit this afternoon, we were able to play this! I got 2-W-2, Dad got W-2-3, Mom got 3-3-W. So that was nice! And if the weather’s gonna REMAIN nice for a while, this might become a regular thing again.

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check! More time on the bike, more time with Jon’s Original FO4 Playthrough! Got farther into Episode Two today – Miss Jon explored the various crafting systems around Sanctuary, improving her 10mm into a “Long Hardened 10mm” (which Jon couldn’t say without laughing), and cooking up some radroach meat before getting into settlement-building proper and scrapping a bunch of stuff. While she was doing that, poor weather rolled in – namely, it started raining – and Past!Jon marveled over the dynamic weather system. He – marveled slightly less when fog rolled in the next day and kept him from actually going anywhere outside Sanctuary, but still – he was quite impressed! XD

Eventually, though, Miss Jon got out of Sanctuary, picked up some free clothes off the dead raider the other side of the bride, and made it to the Red Rocket – and Dogmeat! Jon was promptly thrilled with her new doggy friend – especially when he proved to be very adept at killing the mole rats, which kept spawning up in places Jon couldn’t see. Not yet used to the burrowing enemies in this game at this point in time. . .they ended up going into the cave that’s under the station and killing all the mole rats in there too, with Miss Jon learning the hard way that Rabid Molerats take a bit more oomph to kill!

With that sorted, Miss Jon and Dogmeat headed into Concord, taking care of the bloodbug hatchlings and exploring the house on the outskirts. She ran across the fight between Preston and the raiders, picking up more items (and learning the difference between clothing that lets you put armor on top of it and clothing that doesn’t), then explored the nearby shops before going to help Preston. I left it with her and Dogmeat atop the church next to the Museum of Freedom – with Dogmeat constantly falling off or through said roof. XD As Past!Jon said, maybe the companion AI could be tweaked a bit.

2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check – Alice has made it to the Asylum, and has met Jeannette! She is – not particularly impressed on first meetings. Mostly because Jeannette keeps trying to get into her personal space as she flirts. Alice is doing her best to remain polite, but. . .oh man. It’s rough when your author/player forces you to go for the “save them both” ending, isn’t it, Alice?

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Half check – while I was able to catch up with Kevin’s video from yesterday, I had to skip James because his latest Cottage Living episode is almost an hour – AND Wyrd Sisters Podcast updated with their Night Watch, which of course is ALSO pretty long. Guess I know what I’m catching up with first this weekend!

A) First, it was time to catch up with Call Me Kevin –

I. Kevin plays Pokemon Unite, which is Pokemon by way of League of Legends. Apparently you’re on a team, you battle the other Pokemon to get their Pokeballs or energy or something, and then you take that to designated goal areas to score goals? And whoever scores the most goals, wins? Look, I’m not familiar with what I guess are called “moba” games – all I know is that Kevin was wrecking people as Charizard and Magachamp and having a lot of fun doing it. As the more defense-oriented Crustle – not so much. XD But he was on the winning team in three matches in a row, so – yeah! He’s at least got the “I accomplished something” high out of this game, yay~

II. Kevin plays Parkosaurus! A game about building your own, rather more cartoony than Jurassic, dinosaur park! Just as dangerous, though – especially when Kevin’s in control. Weak wooden fences for all the enclosures (though they actually held up pretty well until the very end), herbivores and carnivores shoved into the same pens (though, in his defense, Kevin apparently thought triceratops were meat-eaters. . .which is indicative of a DIFFERENT problem, but. . .), and most of his money being made via selling huge hot dogs and trading happiness for cash. XD His poor dinosaurs didn’t even get toys until near the end of the episode! And then, in an attempt to fix the pen situation, he shoved everyone into the same TINY pen, and then kept shoving them in there as he complained about Big Fence ripping him off. . .yeah, the episode ended with a bit of a dino rampage. Should have just stuck with digging for fossils through time portals, Kevin! (Yes, that IS a thing in this game.)

B) Then we had GrayStillPlays and more Minecraft abuse! The axoltols are back, and this time, they can be enchanted! Or, rather, you can enchant ANYTHING, as Gray has made all the things tamable, and given them all stats that can be upgraded with glowy enchantment books. :D Chickens and horses? Can become the fastest things alive. Pigs and Piglins? Monsters that will wreck your shit. Skeletons and ghasts? . . .Mainly get in Gray’s way, honestly. Bats? Um, buried under the obsidian. . .look, this army went through a lot of trial and error. XD But Gray found a winning team eventually, and managed to take them to the Nether to beat the Ender Dragon! Piglin and Wither Skeleton ended up being the MVPs simply because they though to attack the dragon from the rear and not get blasted by her wings. XD As usual, his seed has been left a zero-laden mess, and Gray gives no shits. XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: . . .Cripes, I never did figure out Saturday – then again, I suppose if I have the time to listen to the Wyrd Sisters Podcast before then, I could put that up as a potential Saturday post. We’ll see. At any rate, I did make sure the queue speed was reset to one post a day, so we’ll call this a check on that alone.

Not too shabby -- and given how into Bloodlines I am lately, perhaps I should reblog one of the songs I've previously associated with it and my AU for this Saturday, if the podcast doesn't work out before then. We'll see. *nods* As it is, it's time for me to wrap up and head to bed. Still got a day and a half left of work to go! Fingers crossed it all goes well. . .night!
