crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

Weather was a little more humid, and I had some annoying moments at work, but all in all, it could have been much worse --

Work – All right day – I spent a lot of it going over a quality control file for thanking people for gifts, then turning that into a list of reversals I have to do. And then looking at some stuff that also needs fixing and discovering one of my coworkers AGAIN put one of the checks on the wrong damn account. . . *huffs* I do not like feeling like I’m the only competent person in the room, thanks.

Beanbags – Not today – while it was nice out, my parents were out when I came home (searching for mulch), and they didn’t get back until 5:30, meaning it was just about too late to actually play. I spent the time topping up my phone’s airtime and getting annoyed over the existence of Sims 4 Kits and patches with ten tons of recolors and a single bug fix.

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another round on the bike, another episode of Jon’s Original FO4 Playthrough finished! Yup, ended up wrapping up Episode 31 today – Miss Jon found her keycard (along with an interesting holotape regarding some pre-War scientists arguing mightily over the fact one of them basically sold out to the military), then managed to activate the elevator down into the main Mass Fusion offices (accompanied by ghost!Dogmeat (still her companion, I didn't realize), who thanks to constantly being left behind during her run around was teleporting next to her regularly). And so she rode said elevator down into the heart of the building –

And a whole bunch of Brotherhood soldiers! A few of them attempted an ambush, but Miss Jon was able to put the Deliverer to EXTREMELY good use and slaughtered them while barely breaking a sweat. The rest of them reasonably remained back, forcing Miss Jon to go looking for them after they cut off the power to her elevator. She killed a few after getting the power back on, but Past!Jon decided hunting them all down was a waste of time and instead followed the Plot Objective Marker down to the basement, where he found the agitator –

And a whooooole lot of radiation! And Miss Jon without a hazmat suit. . .fortunately you chomp down on enough Rad-X, it will stack – it got her through opening up the pod and getting the agitator. Even more fortunately, the rad scrubber arches actually do function, and they cleaned all the nasty radiation off her –

Just in time for her to have to face down the automated security. One Sentry Bot, two Assaultrons, two Protectrons. Miss Jon fortunately has a VERY good shotgun and a lot of VATS time, so she was able to kill them all and escape back to the main lobby, where she found the Institute Gen 2 synths taking on what remained of the Brotherhood. She gave them a hand, cementing her status as an enemy of the BOS, then headed out and teleported back, giving Allie the agitator and going to speak with Father, who praised her for her good work in killing all the soldiers and said she’d probably put some loyalty fears to rest. He then told her that he needed her to stop her Minutemen from protecting a guy they wanted to recruit from the surface (apparently there had been some miscommunication and the guy freaked), which Miss Jon was happy to do –

AFTER taking care of a protest in BioScience over her getting the leadership position when Father dies, by making an effort to talk to the guys before setting the gorillas on them. Well then. XD Next time, we see how the “Pinned” quest goes, and if Miss Jon can talk down her neglected Minutemen with the power of the tux!

2. Write some more on "Learn To Love Again": Check! Finished off Chapter 4 with Alice revealing when her birthday is, and assuring Victor that it’s fine to get her a present (saying he was being too polite for his own good again in asking if it would be too forward XD). I’m planning a POV switch for Chapter 5, mostly because I feel like it’ll be good to actually show Victor’s adventure in getting Mr. Bunny back for her, rather than just having him tell it after the fact. Plus, there’s a few scenes that I DEFINITELY want to show from his perspective later on. . .

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Back to three in, three out today –

A) Started with the return of James Turner and the “Every Lot Challenge” LP! :D Pretty epic video today too – with Jasmin (not Jessabelle, apparently) moved in and pregnant with Semaj’s kid, James decided to use their little pot of 40K to upgrade the house from “trailer” to “shipping containers!” There’s now a proper second floor for Semaj’s desks, a proper bedroom with a nice bed, an expanded bathroom, and even some real kitchen and living space! It all looks very nice. :) And it’s also changed from being a “Vampire Nexus” to being “On A Ley Line,” so we’ll see if that results in a pair of babies instead of just one. XD

But a nice house is nothing if it’s on as horrible as the lot poor Semaj is living on – fortunately, he not only got promoted today, he also completed the “StrangerVille Mystery” aspiration! Yes, he created and tested a number of vaccines (one on himself, after eating a Bizarre Fruit to reset his needs for the night), recruiting Ted Roswell, Leslie, and Dylan to help fight and defeat the Mother Plant! It was a near thing, but the team succeeded, and StrangerVille has been freed from its infection! That allowed James to switch the lot from “Haunted House Residential” to just plain “Residential,” so no more specters freaking everyone out whenever they visit! Better yet, the RNG was kind today when James hit the button for the promotion – it allowed him to take off the “Cursed” trait, meaning it was viable to use a stove! Not that Semaj has any ingredients to cook with at the moment, but details. :) Looking forward to seeing where this series goes!

B) And then it was onto Call Me Kevin and Skatebird! This is an adorable game about playing as a little round birb of your choice who does skateboard tricks with his other bird friends to help out their Big Friend, aka their human! Starting by cleaning up their room via kickflips and ollies, then moving onto breaking into their office with the help of a friendly seagull and Sam King(fisher). XD It’s a strange and ridiculous premise for a game, almost certainly inspired by the fact the most famous skateboarder in the world is named Tony Hawk, but it is truly very cute, and Kevin seemed to be having a blast playing it (even if he wasn’t particularly good at most of the tricks). And it led me to discover Tony Hawk’s skateboard company is called “Birdhouse,” which amuses me WAAAAY more than it should. XD

C) And then it was time for GrayStillPlays and more Happy Wheels! No bottle flip opener this time – instead, we had an escape from prison, as Nixon on his Segway took to a very violent obstacle course to smash his way through a pane of glass to freedom (smashing the glass arguably being the hardest part for poor Gray). We also had Nixon doing yoga in a box to escape a possessed sword; Dad and Young Tom Hardy forcing their way down a tunnel that just got narrower and narrower (both in “normal” flavor and “here have homing mines” flavor); Pogo Guy vs the Scimitar Scissor butterflies (now THIS one took a while for Gray to beat without being literally torn in half); the hobo taking a ride in his rocket wheelchair through various obstacles to collect all the coins (half the time being killed BY his wheelchair, especially when he had to abandon it to slip into a cannon); Nixon racing to do a spike fall before he was blown up by a rain of land mines; The Yeetus Ramp (basically just an excuse to pulp Dad And Young Tom Hardy); a chase to steal a car with a minigun on it (Dad lightly tapped it when he finally caught up, and apparently that counted); an “everything all at once” board – yeeting through a harpoon run into a glass break into a jet run (as you might imagine, this was very stressful for poor Gray); and finally “A Day In The Life Of A Pokemon” (you fight two better-equipped opponents and get your arms ripped off). Good times as always!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – pretty easy too! Got the Wednesday Newcrest Adventures posts and the Thursday Corpse Bride gif set reblog in the queue on Victor Luvs Alice, and four ask replies on Valice Multiverse. Pretty easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy all told.

So yeah, not bad -- got everything I wanted to get done tonight done, so that's a plus! And now I head to bed in the hopes of a decent night's sleep, and a decent day after it. . . Night all!

Something I've been wondering - do you remember all the fine details of all the videos as you write, or do you write as you watch?
