Another Busy Night
Jun. 16th, 2021 11:20 pmI swear, it so often feels like I'm living my life on a timer -- and constantly running up against the buzz. *grumbles* But I really did need to touch up my legs and armpits in the shower, and then we had a milk situation in the fridge (namely, the milk was leaking all over it), and -- *shakehead* Where the hell does the time GO?
Well, here's some idea of where it went today:
Work – The days being kind of “eh” continues – reasonably quiet, but with more credit card bullshit discovered in the afternoon. At least the day didn’t drag like yesterday did! We’ll see what happens tomorrow. . .
Beanbags – Not raining, not humid, so yes, we finally pulled this back out! Though it wasn’t a good day for me – lost every game. Ouch. Dad didn’t manage to sweep, though – he won the first two, but Mom pulled out a win in the third. See if I can do better tomorrow!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check! Another half-hour on the bike, and I finished up with PleasantSims “fixed save files” videos, completing the “Get Famous”-based one (with her adjusting Holly Alto back to her Sims 3 self and adding her parents; also making a few changes to the base game such as adding Iggy to the Pancakes household and advancing the Landgraabs a little further in their careers), and watching the “University” one (adjusting Angela and Lilith Pleasant to be a little closer to their Sims 2 selves and adding their parents to Willow Creek – currently they’re still in love thanks to the “alternate timeline” of Sims 4, but Daniel IS still a “Serial Romantic,” sooo. . .). Hell, if you have “Get Famous” AND “University,” Angela’s still with Dustin Broke, and Lilith still with Dirk Dreamer! So that’s nice. :) Cool to see someone put so much effort into making sure these returning Sims still feel like themselves!
2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! Alice has completed her transaction with Trip, and brought pills, money, and Astrolite back to Mercurio! There was a nervous moment when she came in and found him unconscious, but he is still alive, hooray. And doesn’t mind her borrowing twenty bucks to pay one Trip for his services. With morphine down his throat, he’s ready to talk Astrolite, and set Alice up for the main quest of the Santa Monica area – dealing with the Voerman sisters. Fun! So long as YOU’RE not the one running errands for them. . . XD
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Three-fifths check as I struggle to keep up with daily uploads from all the people I’m following. At least I’m guaranteed a break from Gray tomorrow, much as I love him. But I did clear out a few things –
A) Time to catch up on Call Me Kevin tonight –
I. Kevin does Internet Personality Tests! This is sort of a follow-up video to a previous one where he did DNA tests (he is 100% Irish – not a speck of other blood in him!), and saw him taking the tests from Visual DNA and 16 Personalities (he was tempted by Myers-Briggs, but was scared away by the complexity of the website). Visual DNA is all about choosing pictures that best represent you in response to questions (like “where would you be in a play of your life” – you can choose lead role, background role, in the chorus, or in the audience – Kevin chose audience) – Kevin got “The Wanderer” from that test, which put him at very sociable and fast to adapt to whatever turns life takes. 16 Personalities is a more traditional “statements followed by a Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree ranking” – Kevin got the Debater from that one, also calling him sociable but perhaps a bit argumentative. Kevin promptly argued the point. XD He said it was fun and that both KIND of fit him, but it wasn’t perfect, and he wonders if the tests were just generic enough that any answer would have kind of fit. Perils of trying to figure out your personality on the Internet, Kevin. :p
II. Kevin plays The Sims 2! Yup, Kevin made himself as a new Sim in Strangetown (apparently just because he could), set him up in a crappy little house with a microwave, a snowman radio, and a career as an Entertainer, and just started living life! Life consisted of making friends with Jenny Smith via a “Not Bad” party and a date that went awful in one reality and amazing in another; visiting a community lot with a pool that looks like one of his own Sims traps, buying groceries, and serving hot dogs to everyone hanging out there; getting food poisoning from a rotten toaster pastry (which is still better than dying from starvation right after the pastry getting set on fire ruined his above date with Jenny); getting promoted up to Mime in his career; and making enemies with Vidcund after spying on him with his telescope and trapping him first in a little fenced patio, then in a pool. Episode ended with Kevin digging a hole next to the swimming Vidcund – the first grave out of many. . . Ah, nostalgia. XD Just wish the game didn’t STUTTER so much! Makes it a bit hard to watch. . .
B) Then it was time for GrayStillPlays doing more horrible things to Minecraft! In today’s episode – milking the mobs! No, seriously, Gray made it so lots of things could be “milked,” and you could consume the milk for OP abilities. Iron Golem milk? Be strong and destroy the ground around you whenever you walk. Sheep milk? Build towers of multicolored wool into the sky when you sneak. Skeleton milk? Spew arrows like a Gatling gun when you crouch. Piglin Brute milk? OP loot out the wazoo by mining the Nether, shoot gold nuggets out your butt when you walk, and one-hit kill most things. Gray didn’t even have to trade with the Piglins to get the eyes he needed! Oh, and Wither Skeleton milk? Fly like a ghost for 5 seconds and murder ALL the things – including the Ender Dragon. XD I don’t know how milk is more OP than organs (like he did previously), but it certainly was fun!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: N/A, as is usual for a Wednesday – though I do have an idea for what I want to do for Song Saturday, at least. I’ll have to do the actual queuing tomorrow night, though!
I did at least keep up with all my tumblr tags. . .and I've already taken care of my DW comment, so I'm good there too. So it's off to bed for me! One final day of work. . .hopefully nothing horrible happens! Night all!
