crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)
Well, I know what happened today -- my mother charging in as I finished my shower to tell me to shut the water off, there's a leak. So THAT was fun. *grumbles* On the plus side, we determined what the leak is, and it's an improperly sealed bathtub faucet, which should be easier to fix than some of the other possibilities. Apparently the water was coming through the wall in my parents closet, and the previous owners just stuffed rags into the general area to absorb the water. *sigh* Seriously, this house sometimes. . .

Okay -- we're actually going out tomorrow on a minigolf trip (our first since 2019, as you might expect), so I have to be up by a certain time. Let's whack out the standard form I use to tell you guys what I'm up to these days:

Work – The “Eh” days continued with me spending most of my morning summarizing credit card bullshit and then the afternoon looking up more credit card bullshit. *shrug* It’s a living, I suppose. We’ll see how it’s all getting on when I get back to the office on Monday.

Beanbags – Yes, and practically night and day from yesterday for me – W-2-W! :D AND I got my first 12 (aka four in the hole) on the third game, first shot! Now that was satisfying! Dad had a really awful first game (only got up to 10), but managed to win the second game – poor Mom only took second in the first game and came third in the other two. Ah well – maybe she can show us up tomorrow. :p

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check! Got on the treadmill today, and watched some Fallout 4 mod videos for a change! Specifically, videos related to the “Tales From The Commonwealth” mod, which was one of the mods I was excited to play with before my game started crashing on load. *sigh* Anyway, I found a playlist and watched a few videos from it showcasing some of the content. The raider stuff with Black-Eye Bobby I wasn’t particularly interested in – I’m not a raider boss kind of girl – but the “Patriots” quest was pretty fun! I like Clarissa, font of historical knowledge that she is. :) And the introduction to one of the custom companions, Birdie, was interesting. Poor guy is actually a neat freak/germaphone trapped in the post-apocalypse. I would offer him all the hugs except I think he would find that disturbing. XD Something new to poke at while I work out, anyway!

2. Post Chapter 6 of “In A World Of His Own”: Check! Read it here! It’s a pretty short one – about two and a half pages in LibreWriter – but I think it’s a decent epilogue. And I can finally tell that one reviewer on FF.net that I’ve done the "Victor meets the Queen and King of Hearts" story, yaaaay. . . But yeah, good to have this wrapped up!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Half-check – I decided to focus on catching up a bit on James Turner in my Subs today, and as a result I watched both episodes of “3 Brothers” that went up recently (one a couple of days ago, one today). They were pretty jam-packed, let me tell you –

A) The 6/15/2021 episode had the most action, starting with James deciding it was definitely time for the brothers to start achieving more of their goals so he could wrap up this LP in time for Cottage Living and Chaz taking over the mantle of Bigwallet Heir. (Despite his last name currently being “Ricks” thanks to him being born off-lot.) Isaiah was pretty much good, having cured himself of vampirism, so he’s being allowed to bum around in the background, doing good Conservation work and helping keep the bills paid. Brodie couldn’t do much with his aspiration yet (he’s almost completed the “Extreme Sports Enthusiast” aspiration that came with Snowy Escape), but he could advance his other life goal – becoming a Grand Master Vampire! Which he did by going to Forgotten Hollow and beating up Vlad. Which – you know, makes sense, in a way. XD So yeah, he’s now a Grand Master, with his Fun and Social needs permanently maxed but an Atrocious Reputation and an unsettling aura. That combined with the hissing means everyone who spends ANY time with him hates him. Including his son Chaz, despite Brodie doing his best to be a good father. Ooof. Sad, really.

Anyway, with that achieved, James removed the “Creepy Crawlies” lot trait from the house, so no more random spider or plasma bat bites! He also went ahead and took the Haunted House off Heroic Mode, and disabled Guidry’s nightly visits as they were becoming a bit of a pain. Brodie also got a new shirt, as befits his new status as a Grand Master vampire. XD It’s a very nice plaid – suits him. :p

After that, focus shifted to Brodie helping Chaz skill up (fully potty-trained this episode) and Candle escaping to the Britechester campus every chance he could get to keep up with his classes and his job. Not his needs, though – those are constantly in the toilet. XD Things took a turn for the interesting once Summerfest arrived, though – as usual, everyone had a horrible holiday (Chaz couldn’t even get Father Winter to give him a SINGLE present!).

NOT as usual, Brodie ended up abducted by aliens. XD Hey, having an alien heir worked out for Bob! Maybe not so much for Ambrose himself, who kept getting CALLED Bob. . .but yeah. Brodie was whisked away into the outer reaches of space, and came back pregnant with his own alien baby. This game sometimes. XD

B) The 6/17/2021 episode, meanwhile, featured a bit more of Candle at University, doing his best to keep up with classes and graduate with a decent GPA – the moment the weekend hit, though? James shifted pretty much all his focus to getting as many of Chaz’s skills up at possible because he was aging up soon and James wanted to see if he could get them all. Brodie, Isaiah, and Candle all did their best – reading him lots of toddler books, teaching him flash cards, getting him nesting blocks and whatnot – and mostly succeeded. Chaz was able to get four out of the five skills maxed, with Thinking just not making the cut before Brodie made the cake and helped his kid blow out the candles. So close! Ah well. . . So yes, Chaz is now officially a child, focusing on the “Whiz Kid” aspiration for now, and with the “Outgoing” trait. He, uh, still hates his dad, but then again, everyone kind of hates his dad. What happens when you sacrifice so much of your humanity to become a Grand Master!

Also? We have a new member of the family! Yes, right after Chaz aged up, Brodie went into labor with his new interstellar bundle of joy! James went ahead and had him to go the hospital to have the child – it turned out to be another boy. As James didn’t have any names ready to go (he wasn’t expecting to have another kid), he just hit the randomize button a lot and went with Trenton. So now the place has to fit two vampires (one young adult and one child), two aliens (one young adult and one infant), and one ordinary human (former vampire). Oh, and judging by how long she stuck around after being summoned to help clean up the place, one skeleton maid. XD *whew* This LP started in chaos, and it looks like it’s going to end in chaos too!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: In-progress check -- I'm getting my choice for Song Saturday up in the VictorLuvsAlice queue, and I have one more ask to add to the Valice Multiverse one.

*whew* Okay, time to finish up those and get my DW comment out of the way, and then maybe find some time to catch up on tracked tags and stuff before going to bed. And -- fuck it, not doing an "official" to-do list for tomorrow. I'm gonna be out of the house for a decent chunk of the day and I just -- can't be arsed. I HOPE to finally catch up on my YouTube Subs, get some more edited on "Londerland Bloodlines," and buy and start playing Portal Reloaded (that new mod for the game someone made that Kevin played a bit of -- three portals, one through time), but we'll see what actually happens. Night all!
