It was reasonably sunny today, and not too cold (though it was one of those days that started on the warmer side and got chillier as time went on, bleh), which is a definite improvement over the horrible snow and slush we had yesterday. And should be an improvement over the snow that's intended to hit us Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday. And THEN we have ANOTHER storm arriving sometime next week, though right now reports say that'll be a wintery mix and not a full-on snowstorm... We shall see, though! Sometimes these things change, and not always for the better. *shakehead* Oh February, you are such an unsettled month...

Anyway -- here's the write-up for today:

Work – Pretty standard Friday, all things considered – while there were a bunch of calls to catch up on from the snow day, there wasn’t any extra processing to figure into the GLs, and catching up with everyone who’d wanted to do a credit card gift was pretty simple. Did have to warn the processors not to process one guy’s thing, though, since he’d put the wrong number on it. After that, I just looked at some failed credit cards; looked up things for people, as is my wont; and did a little roster maintenance. And got annoyed at the credit card people for STILL not getting back to me on some of the nonsense. *sigh* I also had a less-than-great ride home, thanks to heavy traffic and having to stop for gas at one point, but – I’ve had much worse. Made it to the weekend, that’s all that matters!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – last night on the bike this week, pedaling my way through more “I'm trying Rags to Riches in The Sims 2,” by James Turner! And Semaj is – not doing so hot. XD Specifically:

A) He got demoted in his actual Business career because James kept choosing wrong on the chance cards (partially because he THOUGHT he’d taken the lifetime aspiration perk that makes whatever you pick right 80% of the time – no, James, you went all in on slowing need decay and bumping his base salary, remember?) – fortunately he was able to be repromoted, but he hasn’t gotten a promotion since

B) His home business is struggling – after all of his many, many sandwiches (since James realized he could pile the plates five to a table after a bit) went off, he pivoted to selling cool figurines that James found in the shop – and THEN, after James got some money, he pivoted to restoring and selling the junker car! Which – has proved to be very difficult, because it is fucking expensive and he’s only a Bronze-level salesman. And his bad interactions with customers (and the bad interactions BETWEEN customers...and a wandering skunk) keep losing him loyalty stars, so he can’t rank up and get perks. He did get a nice review from a visiting critic, who was even kind enough to give him a “Best Of The Best” award, but – well, Semaj needs money more than awards!

C) And on a personal level, even with the slowed decay, his needs are often still a mess, and his house is very often a pigsty. On the plus side, he at least has a money tree he can harvest for the occasional extra 40 simoleons, but I suspect James is going to forget to water it one too many times and it will die. We shall see – probably tomorrow, as I do hope to finish off the episode then. XD Fingers crossed!

2. Continue working on “A Murder Shared Is A Murder Thirded”: Check – I did indeed finish Chapter Two today, with a discussion of what happens after they expose and/or kill Bumby – Alice was pretty sure her options were “get thrown back in the asylum, get Hollowed, or hide on a train going to another city,” but Smiler and Victor both convinced her that they’d be willing to help her make Elder Gutknecht’s house into her home so she could lie low in Duskwall instead. Mostly because they like her and don’t want her to leave. :) Victor in fact affirmed that he wanted to keep in contact with both Smiler and Alice, which both of them were more than fine with. Alice especially, as she kind of likes talking to real people now and not just her argumentative hallucinations. XD But yes, they’ve wrapped up their raid of Alice’s room, and now the only way to go is up! Which they shall do AFTER I get this chapter posted.

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – caught up on all the videos in here today, yay –

A) First up, we had the Josh Way video I missed yesterday – “Fun With Shorts: The Lone Ranger Extras [PATREON EXCLUSIVE]!” A short double bill of Lone Ranger content, featuring Josh riffing on a silent Lone Ranger cartoon (which contained about just as much animation reuse as the cartoons we’re used to seeing, and about twice as much brutality by actually SHOWING a cattle rancher hanging from a tree – he was of course conveniently still alive, but damn) and a promo for the live action Lone Ranger series (featuring a dude named Clayton doing improbable stunts and more pathos than Josh is usually equipped to deal with when it comes to the Masked Man). It was all really great, with Josh happily tearing into both sections AND making sure to get plenty of digs against the usual Lone Ranger cartoons we see on the channel. XD Ah, Lone Ranger – you are so eminently mockable on this channel. I love it.

B) And second up, we had the GrayStillPlays video of the day – “When you fail at life,” aka Gray plays – well, the video description said Move People, but the actual intro said Posemaster. Basically one of those mobile games where you have to twist people into pretzels to get them into the “right” shape or achieve a goal. And oh boy, this was a doozy of a board – the very first level was petting a cat to make it POOP OUT A GIANT LOG. And then you had to PICK IT UP out of the litter box. No gloves or anything. Gray, a cat owner, was appropriately horrified. XD From there, we had things like Gray making a lady levitate to beat her husband at tennis (knocking him on his ass); turning an adorable corgi into Slenderdog by waving him all around and watching his limbs go all noodly while refusing to put him up on the couch; trying his best to send a completely limp couple into the nether realm before putting their control circles on the couch (the man managed to pop back into existence, but the lady was just GONE); forcing a hamster to run until it got spun out of its wheel and deflated; and helping a lady win a lightsaber fencing match with moves straight out of the Star Wars franchise. Though he said that the most unrealistic thing he did in the entire game was bathing a cat. XD Good silly fun in between all the GTA torture boards!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – didn’t have anything to do on Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) for the moment (saving my energy there for tomorrow), but on Valice Multiverse, I had one ask from Toonsisters for the queue, with her talking about how she was having a good day until she sneezed, and now she has a small fever, what the hell is up with that. The Cuddlepile Valicer trio are similarly puzzled, with Smiler just suggesting germs are weird and the sneeze must have been some sort of tipping point, and Alice saying that she should probably go and get some rest then. Bizarre thing to happen, to be sure, but I guess bodies are just weird like that.

Other: Have to take a moment here to brag about my wins at Game Night tonight – we played BTTF-flavored Yahtzee, and I won three out of four games! :D In fact, in two of the games, I rolled double Yahtzees – the first one back-to-back! It was pretty epic. Mom won the remaining game (the second one), and poor Dad ended up with a score barely over 100 in the final round because he was rolling so poorly and kept having to mark zeros everywhere. Sorry Dad – though I am PRETTY sure you clobbered us last time we played, sooo… :P

Not too shabby, eh? And now I should probably head to bed before it gets too late. Tomorrow, plans include popping into Sims 4 to put a last couple finishing touches on the Polyheart OT3 House and take a few more pictures; get the draft for the Polyheart OT3 House tumblr post going on Victor Luvs Alice; seeing if I can get Chapter Two of "A Murder Shared Is A Murder Thirded" posted on AO3; and keeping up with the YouTube Subs and seeing if I can finish off the Sims 2 Rags To Riches video by James Turner. We will see how many of these are actually achievable! Night all!
