Whenever I come back from the beach, I feel sleepy. Even if it's just from a swim.
-DW: I know, I feel the same way. *yawns*-
-VD: Us too, but for different reasons.-
-VD2: Naturally.-
Heh. Hopefully this means a good night's sleep for me -- I could use one.
Went up to Walden's today -- I had a 30% off one book coupon, so I bought the next three books in the "Series of Unfortunate Events" series. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire rock.
-TD: Oh? Are they good?-
Oh yeah, if somewhat short. The books become thicker the further you get into them. There's currently eleven in the series, and I have the first six.
-E: Worth a read?-
I think so. I think you especially would like them, Emmett, Violet Baudelaire is an inventor.
-TD: *grin* Great. Where's the first one?-
I've got the first three in that big blue omnibus there -- they made a movie out of those, so. . . .
-TD: Gotcha. *grabs and starts reading*-
-D: You know, he's done almost nothing but read since he arrived.-
-H: There's not much else for us to do. She won't listen to my idea on an miniseries starring us.-
-M: *laugh* Actually, that sounds kinda cool --
Gah! No!
-VuM: Why not?-
-M2: Yeah, it's obvious you'd like to write them?-
Need to do something for the VampDocs though. I've gotten so far into my other fandoms, I've neglected them.
-VD2: Not really -- myself, VampMarty, and VampJennifer are technically in charge of other BTTF fandoms as well as "Night and Day," remember?-
-OD: *tentacles chitter, puzzled* So you're in charge of my story?-
-VD2: For all technical purposes. I, of course, will defer to your wishes. *grins*-
That's true, yeah. So it's just poor old VampDoc.
-VD: It's all right. You already gave me your word you'd be working on a new one soon.-
Yeah, but I should be editing some VDCS too, try and get myself back in the mood. *sigh*
-M2: Hey, we know you'll eventually come back. Besides, sometimes it's nice to just watch from the sidelines.-
Heh.
Reading up on the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie. At first I was opposed to this movie on principle -- I quite like the old Gene Wilder version. But now, I have to admit, I'm getting interested. The movie itself seems like a lot of fun. There's just two things that put me off, and both have to do with appearances:
a) The appearance of Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. As numerous people have mentioned, he looks like Micheal Jackson. I also think he looks a bit creepily feminine. I know Wonka isn't "normal," but really, would have it killed them not to make him look creepy?
b) The new Grandpa Joe. Nothing against his actor, but those glasses have GOT to go. He just doesn't seem the type to leap out of bed after seeing the Golden Ticket, unlike the old Grandpa Joe. This new Grandpa Joe is balanced out by the fact that Charlie's Dad has been ressurected for this film version, and I'd see the movie just to see if my Mother's favorite part is in there -- seeing Mr. Bucket working in the toothpaste factory, screwing the caps on. :p
Incidentally, my verdict on Batman Begins -- eh. It wasn't bad, and I enjoyed seeing Batman's evolution (and quite a few of Alfred's jokes), but I'd give it the same score I'd give The Incredibles -- not a bad way to spend an afternoon, but I'd much rather watch something from Marvel. (Speaking of which, may be going to see Fantastic Four next week. *sings* Mr. Fantastic can stretch like elastic, Sue can fade from sight. . . .)
-OD: *pokes* Fanart.-
Help narrow it down for me. Have each tentacle choose a plot bunny and we'll do a round robin sort of thing.
-OD: Okay then. *has tentacles hunt through plot bunnies*-
And while he's doing that, I'm gonna get some sleep. Night.
-DW: I know, I feel the same way. *yawns*-
