Not only did my Dad have to work with my uncle, we got a HELL of a winter storm this afternoon. First it was snowing -- then it was pouring rain -- then it was HAILING, and the WIND was fricking CRAZY --
-D: How bad could it be?-
Ask the tree that is now in our back yard.
-D: O.O-
Well, it's not really a full tree, but it's the top of one -- we have a big tree in our back yard, and the wind was able to knock the top of it right off. So yeah, Mom didn't feel like braving the roads.
-VD: You can't exactly blame her. Who would want to go out in that weather?-
I know, but -- damn it, they keep putting it off, and I'm getting to the point where I'm gonna take a box of the candy we bought, find out showtimes and the bus schedule, and go see it at the crappy little theater nearby. It's not the best big screen, but it's a big screen. And I wouldn't have to pay a dime, considering we still have the one free movie pass.
-H: You'd actually go to a movie by yourself?-
Well, you guys are certainly welcome to tag along :p
-H: You know what I meant.-
Yeah, and yes. My mother is very stupid when it comes to movies. I missed out on seeing "Corpse Bride" on the big screen because of her insistence on not going when the theater's crowded. Personally, I'm starting to care less, just so I can see the freaking movie.
-TD: Do you think your mother and father will agree?-
I haven't a clue. Times like this I wish I had just taken stupid Driver's Ed and gotten a driver's license. Since we figured on being out of here a couple of years ago, I figured I'd wait and get it down there. That decision's really bitten me on the ass.
-VD2: *cautiously* Er, we're here for you, you know.-
*smile* Thanks. I know it's a stupid thing to complain about, but Harry Potter's a favorite book series, and I like the movies and I want to see them goddamnit.

Because of the power outage, I didn't get online until late. Thus I skipped a Hill Valley Sims family and went straight into the building. I was back on campus today, finishing up Crepes Sussette and starting Coffee4You.
-M: At least I'll go to a nice college.-
Hehe, yeah. And next week I'll concentrate on the families instead. I really gotta finish making everybody. Anyway, the buildings:
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us Finished Crepes Sussette. I tried to make it a more elegant place than I usually do, with a little pond and trees and all that. I'll get to the roof in a moment.
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us Two shots of the first floor. I changed things around a bit to help with Sim movement -- I don't want anyone getting stuck, after all. The color scheme is creme and dark, and I think it looks very nice.
-DW: I like the fireplace, adds a homey touch.-
Thanks. Now, about the roof -- the style I chose allows you to create a usable rooftop area with a little staircase manipulation. I took advantage of that:
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us The rooftop mini-spa, with lounge chairs and hot tubs. I just had to try the feature out. I think it worked nicely.
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us The unfinished Coffee4You, a combination coffee bar and grocery store. Red is groceries, blue is coffee bar. I'm still getting a feel for this place. Next is the gym, Crunchers, and the campus shall be essentially complete.
-VuM: Then back to Downtown?-
Yup, to try and get some work done on those courthouses. *needs more ink and paper to print out more of FrenchMarty's floor plans*
Speaking of which, anybody know of where I could find something similar for Doc's mansion? I know we only see part of the first floor, but it would be very useful and let me know how I should place the rest of the house.
-OD: You seemed to be doing pretty well with it before.-
I know, but I realized I have no clue where to place the stairs, and I get enough snark from my parents for watching those movies. Plus I want to elevate the darn thing a little -- basically start over and do it better.
-M: Seems like a waste of playtime to me.-
Just call it my dry run. Besides, I do like the building portion of the game. I had fun designing Clayton/Lloyd Castle and Von Braun/Handlen Cathedral.
-M2: Well, so long as you're happy.-
:) Well, I'd better get some sleep, it's getting late over here. Night all.
