I ran into some problems with the Furkin. I started playing at seven o'clock, and was able to get through most of the morning all right. I had them form a casual group for fun, then sent them out, intending to get them some breakfast. However, when they arrived at their destination, something happened so that Suzy wouldn't eat. I ended up having to pay for two dinners just so she could get some food. Upset, I ended that outing early and had them go back to freshen up. I eventually calmed down and reminded myself the stupid little computer people don't do that to deliberately annoy me, gave them all a nice maxmotives, and sent them to the Crypt O'Night club. This time, I SKIPPED the "form casual group" option that had given me trouble before, and went straight to the double date. A few well-placed flirts and kisses, and they both got up to Dream Date almost immediately. Everett also met Verne Servo, which made me happy -- getting closer to actually knowing DOC! Add to that three of them getting their term papers completed, and I'm a happy camper. However, the failed first outing cost me a half-hour, and my computer hates community lots (just another reason to replace it), so I didn't get off until 9:30.
And THEN, I made the mistake of reading Aaron's fan fiction. He's good, and he writes a wonderful Doc. Go read his "Reality Check," just to see him write an almost-sympathetic Biff Tannen. So that cost me the rest of my time. I finally just said "screw it" and decided I'll update later tomorrow. Gonna try NOT to sleep until practically noon this time, especially considering I have Part II to watch with commentary! Part I was as I remembered, except for a few glitches (ack, don't let my DVDs be wearing out!) and longer pauses than I recalled. *shrug*
So, in leiu of a
revison_doc update, let me give you a "V.D." update -- I've got the holder page and the new first chapter up. "Boy Genius" also has a holder page, but it's pretty much exactly like "V.D.'s", only without the picture.
I'll also do some memes:
IF A MOVIE WAS MADE OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE? So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, etc).
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question press the next button.
Opening Credits: "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZTop (Yeah, this will work. Might work better with the Waking Up bit, though.)
Waking Up: "Major Tom (Coming Home)" by Peter Schilling (This is the song on a SG-1 video
martyfan sent me. Not sure it fits, but whatever. . . .)
Falling In Love: "Missing" by Evanescence (Wha? This is a depressing song! Jeez! Although maybe it fits -- unrequited love, perhaps?)
Fight Scene: "Die Another Day" by Madonna (LOL, this one does fit, especially given it's the song for a video of Daniel Jackson constantly coming back from the dead!)
Breaking Up: "Devil in Disguise" by Unknown (Oh, this one SO fits. I always think of Doc and Lucy/Jill when I hear this song anyway.)
Making Up: "One Last Breath" by Creed (Another depressing song! Though again, perhaps it fits - begging someone to try and help. Maybe it's an "eat crow" make-up)
Sex: "The Unlucky Ones" by Admiral Twin (Jesus! Is sex with me that bad?! The Docs will be laughing over this for ages.)
Life's Okay: "Mr. Roboto" by Styx (LOL, yeah, I guess it's upbeat enough)
Mental Breakdown: "The Star Wars Cantina" by Mark Johnathan Davis (Ummm, I get my fandoms mixed up when I go crazy? Though I'd like to do a version of this song with BTTF images instead of Star Wars or SG-1 images)
Driving: "BTTF Main Theme" by Alan Silvestri (I'll take it!)
Flashbacks: "Where The Streets Have No Name" by U2 (Can't say how that relates to memories, but I have an excellent BTTF video to it)
Happy Dance: "Close To You" by The Carpenters (Oh, NOW I get a vaguely romantic song. . . . At least it's happy)
Regretting: "Unknown" by Unknown (a piece I got from
damostaranth -- it's a pretty piece from some anime, but I can't say what.)
Final Battle: "Back To The Future" by Futuristic Sex Robots (LOL, the only rap song I can really stand! It's BTTF in rap form -- it'll do for a final battle)
Death Scene: "Halls of Insurrection" by Midnight Syndicate (Rather dark and moody. I think I can work with it.)
Ending Credits: "In the Dark of the Night" by Jim Cummings (Snrrk -- Chris Lloyd voiced the villian who sings this in Anastasia. Not a particularly upbeat note to end the movie on, though.)
And yes, here goes: Ask me to list my top fives of anything.
See you all tomorrow! *flees her muses before they can catch her*
