crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
Yeah, I know, the real meat doesn't start until tomorrow, but Doc did date the all-important letter September 1st.
-OD: *tentacles chitter* Do we write a letter, or is Marty going with us? DocWolf says he's seen some plot bunnies both ways.-
I did have a few thoughts about sticking closer to canon, but I think that I'm gonna go with the original idea -- Marty ends up in 1885 with you. I just need to figure out where to end "The Gift and the Curse" and start "There's Always Tomorrow."
-VuM: Well, you could always go the extreme cliffhanger option.-
I could, but a) that wouldn't really be fair to the readers, and b) what cliffhanger? If they have any idea of canon, they know where you two are going. I think I'll end "Gift and Curse" with you stuck in 1885, but working on the DeLorean, then pick it up in "There's Always Tomorrow" with the end of August/beginning of September.
-AJ: Are they still going to the beginning of August instead of January?-
That I'm more ambivilent about, honestly. On the one hand, sending them back to January is closer to canon and distinguishes it from the Night and Day "Dusky Past." On the other, I don't want to submit Marty to eight months of possible torture (Doc LIKES the Old West, luckily) -- and really, could Doc keep the tentacles concealed for that long?
-OD: *tentacles make thoughtful noises* Hmm. . . . Well, you could always send us back just a LITTLE earlier. Doesn't have to be August. July?-
Hm. It's an idea. I'll file it away.
But yes, anyway, the week of Part III. Expect Clara and co related plot bunnies, DocWolf.
-DW: Duly noted.-
-MF: That "Narbonic" Sparky Marty one appears a lot anyway.-
Heh. I should do a Drabbles88 on HIM.
-VD2: Not a bad idea. Finish up the one you've started first, though. Who rewrites a drabble?-
Well, I originally started it off with Doc actually grabbing Marty, but I thought it might be funnier to have them just wake up and not know how they'd gotten there.
-VD2: Ah, I see.-

Which means it's time for the Sims update.
-RPD: Eureka included, I hope.-
Yup. But first, over to Hill Valley and master of discipline, Steven S. Strickland. He started his day off with a bit of painting.

As daylight dawned, he finally got hungry enough to justify breakfast. Like all my sims lately, he got waffles with banana. (In case you haven't guessed, foods and clothes are my favorite downloads)

I noticed he had the day off (it was Friday), so I had some airtime to fill. So I had him invite over Buford Tannen. Buford agreed immediately, asking if he could bring a friend. I humored him, wondering who he'd bring.

MAGGIE? A SWOONING Maggie, no less?
-M: Great-great-grandma!!-
-VM: *headdesk* My relatives are messed up.-
-D: At least they aren't the town bicycle, like I seem to be.-
*giggle* Strickland ignored Maggie, but had Buford in for an enthusiastic discussion of crime. I'm sure Marhsall Strickland is rolling in his grave.

Seamus McFly wandered by, but didn't stay long. Good thing he wasn't around to see Maggie swooning over Buford! Strickland eventually went over and evilly shooed Maggie away too. I guess McFly hate is something he and Buford have in common.

Buford played the piano for a while, but left due to bladder issues before he and Strickland could talk more. Aw well.

I had Strickland hit the shower, then chat up a girl named Veronica online. This was as close as I could get to the computer screen -- looks like SimChat is a version of AIM to me.

After getting his social need up properly, Strickland cooked himself a grilled cheese for lunch. As he ate, though, I spotted Jennifer Parker walking by. I couldn't resist having them meet.

Strickland rejected Jennifer's proposed game of Rock Paper Scissors, intending instead to go juvenile deliquent on her. "Hey! Look!"

"Huh? Look at what?"
"Heh heh. . ."

"Ha ha!"
"You are SUCH an ASSHOLE."

-J: Oh, really classy.-
-J2: And way out of character for Strickland.-
Okay, so I user-directed it. . . . Anyway, I had them make their goodbyes, then Strickland cleaned up his puddle. I find it amusing they can use a mop on grass now.

He also fumed about Jennifer. Dude -- YOU pranked HER. WTF are you furious for?
-D: Methinks Maxis should have made furious-ness one-way in a few cases.-
Yeah, really.

Then it was inside to study Mechanical for his job, finish up his sandwich, and call Joe Carr. I let him have an early bedtime - his workday starts at 7, after all.

-M: Bastard doesn't deserve it.-
Oh, trust me, he'll get his eventually.
And then it was over to Eureka and Trans Poly U. I finished up Wrogo's Workout today:

Complete view -- an imposing cinderblock building, but with a nice awning and a small barbeque outside.

Inside -- we have a pool, locker room and bathroom, and excercise machine room. The dance sphere is the centerpiece of the latter -- according to the description, the creator of the device founded the gym. I put up some towel decorations and went with a pale green and concrete theme. It seemed to work. Originally I had the toilet stalls inside the locker room, but I decided that I really needed a separate bathroom with sinks to make it look a bit more real.
I also started on a second lot -- a new one called the Von Braun Musical Theatre. This is my first time working with stages!

So far so good -- this is just the basic layout for now. I'll be adding details next time I play.
-RPD: The neighborhood is looking really nice so far.-
Thanks. I'm having fun designing it.
-VJ: When do you start making families though?-
Let me finish up Trans Poly U first. Then as I start on downtown, I'll create Eureka's Emmett Brown, the Villagers, the Constructs, and our kick-off family, the Kleins. Then, once I finish downtown, I'll do the kickoff with Marty being orphaned, and put in a couple of lots in the shopping district. Then the official play starts.
-M: Neat.-

Okay, gotta get back to fanfic -- I overslept this morning, so I wasn't able to do "Boy Genius." *wince* I've got a good start going now, though.
-TD: In the middle of a big fight sequence, are we?-
Yup. Emily's about to get swept off her feet by Wooster.
-E: Wooster?-
Ardsley Wooster
-E: Oh! Cute!-
-H: I seriously thought Emily would go for Lars.-
Well, nothing's set in stone, even now. And I kind of mean "swept off her feet" LITERALLY.
-H: Ooooohhh.-
Yeah -- so back to work.
-OD: *poke* How about back to work on the sprites as well?-
Give me a bit!
